I started up a new map for Snapshots and already started constructing a village around a gaping chasm I have found. We'll see how many villagers I lose to the abyss.
Once you start exploring, there are no livestock animals, only slime. At least I have not seen any since I started.
I wound up going village to village, looking for a blacksmith with saplings and pillaging as I went. Eventually I got frustrated and would set fires with lava before heading on to the next village.
Now that I have a nice village with defensive walls and trees, I may take to venturing out again, and pillaging new villages for their individual resources before razing them again.
I may have to get some friends and try this out on a server, running from village to village in packs and pillaging what we can!
I also managed to come up with a cobble generator that was kind of in the floor of a remodeled blacksmith's. The top was open, but larger slimes kinda just jumped over me.
Is anyone else having the issue with creepers doing fatal damage in easy mode?
I'm running a server and a friend and myself have noticed we have not been able to survive a hit from any creepers if we're within blast range. It used to just whack me and let me live, but something in the recent update has thrown everything off.
As a public service announcement I am urging all members of the Minecraft community to avoid the Project Clanilla server, its website, and especially its owner.
The server owner ClitCommander acts like a complete child and does not know how to interact with other people. He installs excessive game mods that serve no use to the game, and when the server begins to suffer from the incompatibilities he begins blaming the server hosts. He has done this before previous hosts, insulting them and getting into shouting matches and other arguments. I believe the server has now gone through 3 different hosts in the year I've been with them. There was also a time when he had so much junk installed on his server that is was constantly crashing, and though the problem turned out to be an issue with one of these mods, he kept claiming it was a DDOS attack, even getting into shouting matches with the server hosts over the issue, even though they claimed there was no DDOS attack.
He is overly ambitious, wanting tons of features without having the hardware to support it. He wanted an infinite world with no limits, is running the main map PLUS the nether PLUS a second map PLUS another map all through teleports, refusing to limit the map to ease server issues. He is trying to create a server that can support hundreds of people without ever having had more than 15 or so on at a single time.
The server is SUPPOSED to be VANILLA. Yet he runs mods that clearly are not. I understand ones that prevent griefing and allow you to protect areas, but the game does not need a mod that auto replants every tree you cut down. It CERTAINLY does not need a mod that causes blood and gore to spew forth from a character model any time it is struck. These and other mods are NOT vanilla.
Tonight he used a server-wide nuke command to kill everyone off, something that also deleted every item I was holding. When I got upset at him for using this command, and even having a mod with this command included with the server, he banned me. He banned me from his server as well as his website, preventing me from letting anyone else on the forums know why I was suddenly gone. On the website when I tried to log back into the forums, I was treated with the reason "Angry all the time". You would be too if you were killed off by the server owner, had your items deleted, and were then banned, all for his amusement.
Again, this server owner is a complete child, brags about his marijuana usage, and takes no responsibility for problems he himself causes.
Listen, you incompetent, pot-addicted idiot, don't go using an entire server-side nuke and killing off everyone, which also deletes all their items, and then go expecting everyone to be your best friend. Why you would even include something like that in your mods I can not even fathom. You also always put on ridiculous mods that have no real use for no other reason than because you are so damned high all the time and then when the server craps itself you blame everyone else but yourself. You then blame the server hosts, insulting them and pissing them off and then throwing another fit when things fall apart. You take no responsibility for yourself and act like a child all the time. Thank you for banning me for calling you own on your childish behavior, I'm done with your server and all your drama.
I'm a big fan of planetary colonization. Like getting to Mars or the Moon and then using what limited supplies you brought with you and the natural resources you find to create a new existence.
I think there needs to be:
[1] Either toggles or disabling certain types of biomes in the single-player experience, as well as certain monster types (@#$% :SSSS:) and maybe certain other in-game features, like trees or something but at the same time a way to start with certain items in your inventory, so that once you create a sheltered greenhouse where it would make sense to have trees in the Role-Playing sense of it then you could plan them.
Players could then load in alternate skins for monsters, like aliens, etc.
or
[2] Someone to create a game mod where you start on a lifeless, barren rock (with the possibility of monsters/aliens) with nothing but hills, mountains, valleys and craters with much of the above suggestion implemented in the modification to the game.
I think I will name mine 'Torch'.
I found the little guy RIGHT outside my house. So I tamed him with three of the bones in the pile I was carrying. I had him sit on the front lawn, as other 'security precautions' would have made it a little too dangerous for the little guy to follow me around.
Well, later on he disappeared, I can only assume he decided to go HEAD-TO-HEAD to see which was the more reliable security system: a live wolf or a moat of lava.

OBVIOUSLY you just edit your character model to have a space suit. Problem solved.
Its just something I like, building things on Mars.
