his asking about.. how many cores... and how much RAM his needing...

Its more or less the power of the cores (not the amount) and the speed/amount of RAM you have.

Odd; I got an infraction over this topic, as no-one is giving me a straight answer; maybe I should re-name this to "Customs what to do" :)

As I been getting suggestions to what I should use to protect the laptop, anyone got a choice of what laptop, Taxes are coming in, and she will be home in a month to accept.

the anti-static bag was still sealed.

To re-seal the bags is simple, just need the right tool (and if they do sell re-ferb, then they would have the tool)
For me, I would of taken off the heat-sink, and re-applied the paste and get some new thermal pads onto the required parts. You may even find out if a chip or part on the mobo was replaced before re-sell.

    But still good/awesome deal :D

you need the battery in... to have a working laptop. :D

but im guessing your meaning the brick (the heavy thing that goes to the wall); I would leave it in, sure it will kill the battery life faster, but by the time you notice it too much, its been a few years, and you would (hopefully) moved on

posted a message on A bit confused by my power supply.
fm87; im thinking your time has come and gone, your at an age where you get easily annoyed... there will always be kids who do some crazy stuff, but they are learning on their own grounds. I hardly think you were a pro when you first started.
so maybe you should get a cuppa-tea and a newspaper and sit on the front porch yelling at kids who look different then you do. (jokes :P)

Simple ans to the OP (if the person reads this); When you turn your PC off, some of the lights on the MoBo stay on to let you know that even though the fan on the PSU is not spinning, that there is still power turned on, and you can still be shocked/electrocuted (as well as fry any parts inside -> low chance)
For me, I see it as a great safety feature, and the lights draw only about 1.5watts (if they used 1.5W LEDs), and lets me know if I fall asleep at my PC, and I wake up, to see if I bumped the power on/off.. or if I got a black out while sleeping XD

Because the choices of the laptops dont change that much over 7 months; not as much as desktops.
And the chances of any sort of major change to a laptop to occur will be very min, for the last 6 months not much has happen, yes, over 7 months ago, AMD came out with the new APU chips and such, but thats all that would be different.

Also, I may be looking at spending $2500 but if thats the price now of X laptop, then think how much it would be when I do end up buying it; I would save x$ and have more money to spend when I get there.

And.. im super excited to go as well :P

posted a message on Going to the states, and buying a laptop up there from here
So im going on holiday to florida in Feb; and as much as I am all for desktops and such, and have avoided needing a laptop; ive found that I will be needing one.
For starters, it will take me between 24 - 52 hours of flight time, and it will cost a few $$$ to send a desktop around with me :P
And the person whom im staying with I gathered I should buy her a "new" laptop as well.
So thats two laptops to buy, one here in Australia, and one up there in the states.
And her current laptop (some 5yr old thing) can go to her mother for youtube and facebooking/emailing.

I worked out what laptop ill be getting down here... ASUS G75VX-T4153H = just a tad over $2k

My big question is... where would I find the same laptop up in the states to buy, and with some good fast shipping at low cost. (Takes just 2 days for mine to be shipped and for only $50; would like to find the same up there.)
    Or if a few of you guys... and girls, have some suggestions;
    $2k is my limit(including shipping),
Prime use is for gaming.. and skype call on the side for 24hours+ (we like to chat a lot to each other I guess :D ); I mean if possible, maybe add in a better webcam and 2nd (side) monitor into the cost.
If you do need to go over, then $2.5k will be my MAX, but there better be a valid reason.

    cheers guys.

posted a message on my usb ports and keyboard is screwd please help
the drivers are probs faulty... worse case, the hdd where the drivers are stored is faulty, or it could even be the usb chip on the mobo itself, as the keyboard requires more power then a standard flash drive... (tried connecting it to a usb3.0 slot?)

posted a message on Review on the cyberpowerPC GUA250
    Quote from MinecrafterX11

Hi i am here today to right a review on a pre-built by CyberpowerPC its a GUA250 Gamer Ultra that i bought for 600 bucks. Lets just say there is nothing wrong with buying a prebuilt. With this computer i can download 2 major high end games games and web browse and play Minecraft on maxed out setting and still get 60-110 FPS with no lag. So buying a pre-built is not all that bad and some people said it was such a horrid build but obviously not. It is one of the best things i could have bought in the situation i was in. In my opinion a pre-built is not all that bad if you find the right one and look at the reviews.

"Write"; And to just DL games = internet performance; not PC specs.
This topic needs a re-name, from Review to, My thoughts. Simple.
