It would be great if there was a config option to control how OP the rewards were. Like maybe the defaults are:
I'm always looking for mods to make Minecraft a bit more challenging, so it'd be good if this one didn't make it easier.
May 17, 2013I remember using Sonic Ether's shaders about a year ago. They looked great, but inside caves and underground it would be too bright and glitchy. Have any of the newer dynamic shadow shaders fixed the underground problem?Posted in: Minecraft Mods

Maybe there could be a config option that controls how much loot is spawned (or how quickly)? Like a configurable multiplier on the delay. I usually don't use mods that make the game easier, since I've played it so much it's too easy already!

May 14, 2013Blade Trap would be a perfect block type for Minecraft now I think about it. Place it down and anyone directly in line with it within X blocks and it slides towards them, damaging and pushing them back. Good idea! I think it'd work better as a full height block with spikes on the sides, rather than a flat shell like in the Zelda pic?Posted in: Minecraft Mods

May 12, 2013Thanks for the list Gurrok. One interesting thing about Dungeon Mobs is that many of the creature descriptions say "only spawns in the depths" or underground. It doesn't look like any of the mods you mention have depth-based spawning rules, so I guess that part of Dungeon Mobs wouldn't work if a mob spawn control mod is installed? You would have to use a mob spawn control mod to disable the manticore, but you would have to do a lot of configuration settings for all the other mobs and biomes.
Can anyone recommend a mob spawn control mod that works with Dungeon Mobs? I'd like to make the Dungeon Mobs rather rare so they're a scary special treat, rather than changing the game all over.

The leveling stuff looks intriguing. I'd love to see a farming mod with some long term goals and discovery in. Right now in Minecraft as soon as you have one repeatable food (like some Melons), you don't have any need for other food and you're kinda done. Being able to level up my farming/cooking and such sounds great.
