    posted a message on Need help with Mysticblade crash report

    Sorry about that! This was fixed in an updated version of the pack. The 'remove' button in curse is incredibly close to the 'update' button when adding/removing/updating mods, so I had clicked remove by mistake on Forbidden Magic. It should be set now. NOW I'm just attempting to fix a crash when the controls menu is pulled up ~.~

    Is the server still being worked on?

    I'm still working on rebuilding the map, but at the moment it's only me, so it's slow going. I also have no place to host the server, so until I can find something that's powerful enough (for cheap, or even better, free) I don't see there being an official server any time soon. :(

    So, the modpack sounds great and all, and I want to play it a LOT, but the game REFUSES to let me use the F key to open my inventory. I just spent several hours reading through every config file in and out of the game, and NOTHING lets me fix this. I set inventory to F, and suddenly I just can't open it at all! (Thankfully, I can use one of the crazy number of other inventory buttons to access my normal hotbar and items, such as baubles inventory to even get the 2x2 crafting grid AND let me access the normal one via button press,) but the IDEA is rather bothering me. (Especially when someone else reports that the F key is doing strange stuff to their game as well.)

    I spent like, 20 minutes flying around in creative mode searching for dungeons and found like, 6 relativly minor towers, 4 villages, and one fairly small underground dungeon. (And a surface mini-mineshaft.) Are there large dungeons in the overworld? Are there neat structures like castles and whatnot? I was kinda expecting worldgen stuff like Hexxit has, and am not entirely sure if my lack of common notable results intended. Are the neater dungeons and stuff limited to the other dimensions? Just kinda wondering what sort of variety I can expect to see in the world, as variety is what I love best. (Hence why this modpack SOUNDS so interesting.)

    I still intend to play, mind you, I just figured asking these questions might get me some answers to the stuff that bothers me initially.

    This is really weird. I'm not sure what's going on with that F button. I'll boot it up tonight and see if I can figure out what's going on. I know F is bound to Thaumcraft's Focus changing mechanism by default.

    There used to be larger dungeons in the pack, but I opted to remove them due to the terrain generation being just too much for most peoples machines. As a result, the rogue like dungeons are expanded down nearly to bedrock usually about every 1 out of 5 times they spawn. (So that even though the dungeons are large, they don't put stress on the rendering engine) I had Chocolate Dungeons (aka Better Dungeons) in the pack at one point, but too many people complained that their PC's couldn't handle it, so I removed it. Feel free to add it to your instance if you'd like- I left the config files in there for people who wanted to use it so that you will get the assigned dungeon generation rate, and custom dungeon items. Restructured (a mod that generates random buildings) was recently updated, so maybe I'll look into how the pack handles generating some large structures from there.

    And it's not a problem :) Ask as many questions as you like! Thanks for the feedback! :D

    posted a message on PLEASE HELP

    You have way too many mods loaded for 1GB of ram. I would recommend at least 2GB and change the PermGen to something like 256MB instead of 128MB. Not sure if that will help since the error is kinda generic, but that would be a good start.

    I know how hard and make a mod, more creator of the grimoire of Gaia What about the idea of doing an item that can transform the mobs of the grimoire of gaia pets who supports the idea? will be that it is possible to do this? :)

    There's possibly a couple ways I can think of to do this without having to make a new mod, or an addon to this one which might be a better, faster solution:

    1) Custom NPCs can use any model of any mob added by any mod and create a follower/npc. The drawback is that the item to create the npcs can be used to make immortal, OP companions/pets and it's a little complex if you've never made NPCs or done any character design before.

    2) Ars Magic 2 has the ability to capture a creatures soul in a phylactery and make it into a companion. The drawback here is that you have to get pretty far into the AM2 magic system to get access to this, and I believe the 'familiars' you make are mortal, and I'm not 100% sure if they work as battle pets or not.

    Can try out either one :)

    Hey there, I messaged you about a year ago to see if I could add this to a modpack I've been working on.. Not sure if you ever saw it :( I didn't want to add it to the pack before getting a hold of you since your legal section was quite specific about public distribution.

    Heya Gany! I'm loving the HECK out of this mod, but I have one question- is it possible to integrate NEI's recipe ghost/autofill function to the custom crafting tables? For example, if I look up a recipe when I'm at a crafting table through NEI, usually there is a ? that shows up that I can either click to get a ghost image display of where I need to put the crafting components, or that I can shift+click to place the items in the grid if I have them all. I don't know how difficult it is to do, so if it's too much, don't worry about it- for me it's just a quality of life thing xD

    So, I'm running version 1.7.10-1.8.3 of the HxCCore and 1.7.10-2.1.8 of the HxCEnchants and for some reason I can't get Flash Step to work. I tried ruling out a couple things, but currently, I have it enchanted on my boots (please let me know if this is incorrect), and I made sure that the button I bound the ability to didn't have any overlapping keybind. Just in case I tried a mouse button and a keyboard button, but neither work :( There's no crash, and nothing in the log (running it in multiMC w/console activated) that I can see that gives any information about it, so I'm not sure if you can help or not. Thanks for any info or feedback you can provide! :D

    Edit: Going to see if I can hunt down your github (if you have one) and see if anyone else has reported this- If not, I'd be happy to make a formal bug report, though there's no more info to give than what I already stated above.

    Yay~! It's the least I can do since I don't have money to contribute to patron D:

    Edit:

    As for JABBA's support, I think that's something you need to ask the JABBA devs to do. I'm not sure they if have an API for that sort of stuff (and the dolly is OP anyway :P)

    Dear god. That's the other mod I've been hunting for and have never found. I SWEAR I saw that in a Direwolf video once as well, but I've never been able to find it. If you find a way to do JABBA barrels... I-I don't know. There's nothing I could ever do to express my gratitude.

    I've been playing around with the pack for a couple days now learning some of the mods I haven't used before and some of the updates I haven't gotten for some of the mods I've setup myself. Gotta say it's a fun mod pack so far and I'd like to suggest a couple mods that might be worth looking into.

    The first one is the Adventures Backpack ( http://www.curse.com/mc-mods/minecraft/225063-adventure-backpack ). I know you have a backpack mod in there already and it is a nice mod, but find I like Adventures a little better. I think the utility of this backpack is a little better and you can equip it to free up the inventory slot without taking up an armor slot as well.

    The other mod that I think might make a nice addition is the Camping mod ( http://www.rikmuld.com/camping ). I think this mod could add to the games immersion for players who like to set up a permanent home or base, but like to go out on long exploration adventures

    Not sure if you've already looked into these mods or not, just wanted to put the suggestion out there. I think either mod would make a good addition to the pack and as far as I'm aware neither should conflict with any of the other mods already in the pack. Thanks for your time and the awesome mod pack. :)

    Edit:

    I'd also like to suggest toning down the amount of health received from leveling or altering the health readout. After going through a dungeon for a short period of time I've gained so many levels that my heart bars are stacked half way up my screen. I enjoy the feature. It's fun watching my health go up as I level, but It's starting to get in the way of seeing what is going on. lol.

    Awesome!! Thank you for all the feedback :D! So, let's see here;

    As for Adventurers' Backpack MANY people have asked me to add it. Last I checked it was still having missing inventory issues, but that being said, I'll go have a look at it again and see what all the buzz is about. Now, the issue is that if I add that, the other backpacks kinda become useless, making me want to remove it, BUT people that USE those backpacks (such as myself!) will loose the stuff in them D: It's something I'll consider, but I don't think it will be added anytime soon cause I'm trying to do as little mod overlap as possible just cause the pack is already quite big :P

    I actually had looked at adding the camping mod cause I thought it was quite cute and had the same line of thinking as you, but I think it changes some core mechanics that I'm not sure about. I'll have another look at it though. Maybe it's something I'll add in the upcoming update this week.

    And yea, I'll be looking into what mod is causing that MASSIVE health increase.. I've had other reports from several players, so it's something I'm aware of and looking into how to handle :) Thanks so much again!

    Edit: Pushed version 2.16 of the modpack. A few mods updated, and the pack should now (hopefully) have a temporary solution to the massive amount of hearts the player can obtain. See the changelog for details~

    I don't think so. Not unless you do it from another computer/device outside the network you were on the first time you voted. ie. You might be able to do it on your cell phone out of the house when it's not on your wireless.

    Edit: Update on the Strawpoll- It looks like right now the votes are in favor of removing the Thirst and Rot mechanics, and the very close runner up is to reduce the Rot rate (ie, make food last longer, and I have to say, I think I agree). I need a tie breaker! Go vote if you play the pack! :D http://strawpoll.me/5301414

    Ah that is cool, i'll look into doing that.
    I'm seemingly unable to get the config right, here is my latest attempt:

    # Configuration file general {
    # blockName | metadata | button | fence | gate | pressurePlate | bookshelf | chest | craftingTable
    # e.g.:Forestry:planks | 2 | true | true | true | true | false | false | true
    S: chisel:paperwall_block | 0 | false | false | false | false | false | true | false
    }

    This results in an error and the config resetting.

    It looks like you backspaced some stuff there that shouldn't have been removed. :) Here is an example of mine, I bolded what needs to be fixed, hopfully it will help you :D
    general {
    # blockName | metadata | button | fence | gate | pressurePlate | bookshelf | chest | craftingTable
    # e.g.:Forestry:planks | 2 | true | true | true | true | false | false | true
    S:woods <
    arsmagica2:planksWitchwood | 0 | true | true | true | false | true
    aether:skyrootPlank | 0 | true | true | true | false | true
    witchery:witchwood | 0 | true | true | true | false | true
    witchery:witchwood | 1 | true | true | true | false | true
    witchery:witchwood | 2 | true | true | true | false | true
    eternalfrost:snowbark_wooden_planks | 0 | true | true | true | false | true
    >
    }

    Now~! Onto the thanks I promised! :D
    Gany. You are awesome. Ever since I saw the crafting tables in an OLD Direwolf20 video with custom matching wood, I looked around LITERALLY for years to try and find it. I recently found the mod that added them originally, but it was combined with a TON of other stuff that I didn't really need or want in my modpack, as it was already big enough, and I had mods in it that already did a lot of the things it added. So I just want to say a HUGE, HUGE thank you for this. Your mods have added a silly amount to the quality of life in my minecraft universe, and I use a BUNCH of them in all the modpacks I make. (Woodstuff, Gany's Nether, and Et Futurum mainly) Please keep up the awesome work, and being such an wonderful influence on the minecraft modding community. Modders don't get repayed enough for all their hard work and time they put into what will mostly give them nothing in return, so I wanted to make sure that you at least got a nice thank you from a big fan. <3 Wolf
