I'm PREEETTY sure that this ISN'T redundant. So anyways, this is a thread in which you can post your ideas for biomes. Here are some that iv'e come up with. Giant Flower Island
There's a giant mushroom island, so why not a giant flower biome? There will be huge versions of certain flowers and they will add some new blocks, known as "flower blocks". It would be a pretty good idea actually. Also they should add a flower like mob into it, because there are mooshrooms in mushroom islands.
Superflat
This isnt actually really a "New" biome, but it will be a new name for a biome. The superflat is just called "Plains" and I think it should be called "Superflat" instead.
Tropical Island
Little islands in the middle of the ocean, made out of sand, and have a new tree, the palm tree.
What is your idea of a new biome?
1. A ripoff of Mushroom island biome. Vegue and redundant.
2. Just play on superflat.
3. Redundant over suggested idea.
You come off as a megathreader who expects everyone to post ideas in your thread, making you look quite up your own bum. Also can i point out there is a perfectly good Tropical island biome suggestion. Also if there are too many ideas in one thread they never get noticed.
While I guess there's no reason not to add this, it's fairly pointless since mapmakers can simply use /tp commands to send players to different locations.

You got all types of stone or metal to choose from, but not only did you pick a type of glass, you're combining it with obsidian. Glass and obsidian has to be one of the strangest combinations ever thought of. The two are virtually opposites.
The idea is to make more durrable glass. Also i think obsidian is weak in real life. Note how i said that you can take it down. It is a hard material that takes legitimate effort to get compared to diamonds.
It mines to fast and has to much durability, if it weren't able to mine anything but Netherrack, stone, stone variations and Netherbrick than it may be less OP.
I kinda want it to be an all perpose tool.

Mining power: Can mine everything but diamond Obsidian and Nether Brick

These blocks would spawn commonly in veins of 3-7
Many skulls and bones pressed into one block. You can make 4 bones out of 1 block.
Mining requirements Wood+ Pickaxe
4. Soul stone
Soul sand and gravel sedementary rock that forms cliffs and tree like structures as well as cave formations.
Mining requirements Wood+ Pickaxe
3.Igneous rock
A reddish rock with lava streaks. They spawn uncommonly in veins of 4-9
2.Ash Block.
Black ash that can be mined with anything. Used in decor stuff (More on that in a little bit.)
1. Obsidian sand
Obsidian black bits of obsidian found in veins of 6-14
Now for recipies
1 BB=4B (BB=Bone Block and B=bone.)
4BB=4BBr (BBr = Bone Brick.)
Four bone blocks in a craft menu will fet you 4 Bone brick.
4SR=1SB (SR= Soul rock. SB= Soul brick.)
You can make soul Rock tools. It has a high durability but has the power of stone tools.
Same brick format for Igneous rock.
Stone and brick format for ash block
Obsidian sand can be smaeled into Obsidian glass.
The upside of this glass is that you can take it down.
OG is used to making tools
Uses: 517
Mining speed:
Stone related:3s
Ore related: 4.7s

I'm glad Minecraft is a finished product - polished, bug free, the best piece of software ever written by mankind. Because it would be kind of embarrassing if mobs kept floating in and out of blocks all the time like this: This never happens in a finished product.

Ignore the OP, I admit it was stupid and dumb. Dispite this being a serious thread i had fun seeing people rant about my stupid post with no thought for criticism. However some posts made me rethink things. I still wish we could see a new decor block or two.
It's people like OP that fail to see that the stuff "under-the-hood" is being worked on, such as the modding API and bug fixes. I understand the people that want content,content,content, but they can't always be adding things, without improving infrastructure. These recent "mapmaker updates" are because they need to focus on getting the plugin API working, and the code to be less buggy. If you're just going to throw the argument of "we need more content because nothing seems to be happening" then you need to look at all dimensions of this situation. Would you rather have something that works, or something cool that doesn't work? Ask yourself that. I'm sure that when whatever they've been doing (hint: Plugin API ) is over and done, the boat will tip the other way and we'll get plenty of survival updates.
Minority? When was the last year you played minecraft? You think people using boats is the majority? But oceans are smaller every day and boats do their job and are easy to use to go across the sea (maybe you dont know how to use them), who could care something so useless when there are way better things to do? And WitherSnow, no one who knows something about this game would do this topic, you don't even know what a snapshot is or you wouldn't expect it to have a lot of things because snapshot are test versions with a few new things and the more they advance the more bugfix centered they are. You should know that but you don't so you made this useless thread instead of learning first what you were talking about.

What users don't understand is that mojang isn't there to satisfy childish wishes, but to make a better, more deep game. There's no reason for new ores, note at all, they will add ores when they have something USEFUL to do. Like quartz, which brought some aesthetic improvement and materials for redstone stuff. They won't be like newbie modders adding 20 variations of iron, gold or diamond just to make different colored tools or weapons, that's USELESS. You have mods for that no need to add it in vanilla. They will only add new ores when they provide with a resource to create better and more complete features to make gameplay more interesting. My advice, give up on the idea they will just add ores for nothing, because ores are one of the most important blocks in minecraft, they need to have a real purpose, no need for 10 ores doing the same thing.

People like the OP are exactly why Minecraft development is going to hell. People who demand "new features" in every update fail to realize that things like bug fixes and core game changes (stuff that "supposedly" progresses us toward the mythical Plugin-API), are just as important, if not more-so, than pointless content updates. But the Mojang devs keep trying to cater to these childish desires, and therefore often fail to work on any of the things that they really should be. Even this update shows it... 95% of the bug fixes were fixes to bugs in the NEW content, not fixes for old and pre-existing bugs. I for one would wholeheartedly welcome a complete version update that gave us NO new features, but that was entirely comprised of fixes for long-standing bugs, and maybe some real focus on Plugin-API-friendly updates. Unfortunately, people like the OP would scream and whine and complain about an update like that.

You should feel lucky you are able to test versions before they comeout and instead you complain like a child. Inserting new mobs and ores would throw this out of whack. It was already said that without a reason, they would not add new ores. Mobs are similar. If you include a reason, that changes the game fundamentally, and given how that doesn't seem like the purpose of this update, it would be distracting and we'd probably get another 1.6 (not bad, but it didn't really make any group happy so far as I've seen). Also, the way you are suggesting all this sounds pretty much like "My group is so rabidly insane about our focus that jeb should step down for not giving it to us. I never claimed Jeb should step down because of that. The man has been doing this for 3 years. I think it might be time for a fresh new prospective on minecraft by someone new. Jeb seems burnt out. The last few updates besides 1.7 were okay at best.
in the latest snapshots they fix a LOT of things, like rewriting several things so those get better. you should not complain, because they are doing the best they can to make you happy and get the game better
