Well not everyone celebrates Christmas, I am not going into detail who and why but just like Notch renamed Hell into The Nether. The same going for hell as well. I do not believe in it, but I do love the mythology in it. XMas is well in my opinion not that good of a name substitute. Maybe call it "The Gift from Snow"? What do you think?
hmm i like it. anyways, you said something about graphics? you could always decide the name later
so on the computer running the minecraft server, go Start Menu>Run and run "cmd"
from there you should get the command prompt (a black window with text)
run ipconfig
C:\Users\Bob>ipconfig
look for your IPv4 address, should look like 192.168.0.some_number
that is the local IP
Wrong... It's either 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x. Really depends on the router.
sorry, missed that. and has less to do with the router and more with how the subnet is set up, but i guess if you are running out-of-the-box routers, its a 192 or 10

Tell me what you think.
EDIT: Put the .png in minecraft.jar/misc/pumpkinblur.png if you didn't already know that :/

but good idea nonetheless

perhaps a tree carved by elves, who leave gifts to special ones in the winter biome
no new mob type, but the fantasy idea of elves might work better in this case
