I found your list, and while it was very helpful and gave me a few candidates, I'm more looking for actual names (preferably American or European).
To that end, I made a simple java app to mass check whether names are premium, but I've found that many (and I do mean many) good names are sitting on non-premium accounts - my program shows them as available, but they're taken when I go to minecraft's registration page.
A quick google shows that there's a lot of talk about wiping old accounts, but no action so far...
Is there a page like https://minecraft.net/haspaid.jsp?user= that will show whether an account has been registered at all as opposed to whether it has been made premium? Also has anyone got word on when they'll start wiping out old unpaid accounts for those of us who really want to throw our money at Mojang for them? XD

And everything is taken. All the names I use in other games, the slight permutations I use, any household object or two-syllable verb that comes to mind. It's pretty awful...
So I found this, which appears to be the only way to bulk-check names in pseudo-regex fashion, and the website is down. Furthermore the guy who posted it doesn't appear to have been on in about a year.
Anyone know of any alternatives, or if the site got moved?
