I host a minecraft server just about everyday but its simply a casual low playercount server, it has a 0.007 ms ping because I run office edition internet at a high download and upload speed. The server runs Minecraft 1.4.6. MC forge. Mo creatures. and Smart moving. Thats all. If you wanna play with me you can I just kinda play solo and edit my YT vids while i play around. I won't put my IP up until people actually respond
I am not sure if I am in the right forum but, can somebody suggest me a few SMP compatible mod packs? I loved tekkit but its so outdated. I have been playing it for a long time. I prefer 1.2.5 compatible mod packs.
Thanks for the offer but I am busy making my own server with a compilation of mods from AMICOs Mod pack, you see I love that pack so much that I want its mods in SMP. But it has been proving quite difficult to get everything working together.
I couldnt find what was in it, but i am a fan of mods similar to More creeps and weirdos, or mods that add a ton of crafts and ores.
I have got EXACTLY the same situation as you, I THINK
I can see them fine in SP but when I go into SMP I cannot see any of them, however I do not know if they arn't there or are just invisible.
Good luck, been trying to get help for a week now :/
Although, you should join my server, right now its me hosting with just 1 to 2 other friends. But I like meeting new people. Plus idc if your a griefer. Not that hard to fix broken **** and block people now is it?
I can see many reasons. For one most pay to play servers are hosted externally. That means there is a charge associated to use the hardware. RENT! If I wanted to host a server this would most likely be my course of action. My PC is of a moderate-high end build and could probably host 15-20 people on a LAN, but due to my internet connection being a mere 5 MB/s average I could not host a large server from my computer. I would need some way to make up the cost.
Second, it helps keep griefing to a minimum. People aren't going to pay only to be kicked out. It can also make server admins feel obligated to provide a decent service and be fair as people are paying real money. So don't pull that lack of guilt bull, it works both ways. Not only that they also tend to be more responsible. I haven't heard anywhere near the number of abusive admin complaints about pay to play that I have free to play servers.
Third, an externally hosted server can run near 24/7 and can dedicate all their computing power to running Minecraft. I can't say that about my computer, especially not where I live where there are frequent power outages, not to mention power costs and every once in a while I kick a power cord or something just futzes. To top it off my computer also has to handle me looking at and rendering videos, surfing the internet, installing new programs, updating and installing new driver software and many other things which sap processing power.
I'm sorry but the first reason is kinda... meh. I am only paying 58$ a month and my internet is reading at 108 mbps
Its all good though, trolls will attempt to troll. My point above was as long as your not hosting more than 100 people, and you are not running minecraft off your microwave, then its not hard and it is not insanely costly. The only hard part is getting mo creatures to work properly without any of its damnable bugs.
Then why put it on youtube and then post a link here for everyone to see? He obviously wants to show off his creation, and so doing has to expect criticism. And maybe he is proud of himself; doesn't mean I or anybody else has to think it's any good. If I had a penny for every random noob that thinks his unimpressive crap-shack is a work of art then I'd already have enough to retire. And I'm not being rude; I was in no way hostile or offensive towards the OP. I simply gave my honest opinion, that the creation he posted is not good. How about you mind your own business and stop seeking to take offense on the behalf of others.
I have tried using client+server versions 3.6.0 , 3.6.1 , 3.6.2 and all times I continue to get invisible mobs ( i know they are invisible because when i spawn a "bear" i see nearby pigs getting hit by nothing) on my SMP server. I have no problems running this on single player but I have been attempting to run this on multiplayer for almost a week now.
I've used mod for other games before but I can't figure out how to get this one working I watched the tutorial video and did everything the way he did, I'm using win rar. to open the JAR file could that be my problem?
If you are running single player use MCpatcher, it made life alot easier for me. Just click and patch. If your trying SMP, it seems like its impossible.
So your minecraft works with forge and MCpatcher?^^
Well, when I first install my mods and then start MCPatcher, I cant patch because the fields "Original" and "Output" are grey and empty, so is the button "Patch" and the field where normally are the mods listed like HDTextures,HDFonts and so on...
Dudeman, its a fact. I am running both forge and MCpatcher as we speak.
You have to do the following steps for it to work though.
Fresh minecraft>Modloader>Patch>ModloaderMP>Patch>Minecraftforge>Patch>Whatever the hell you want all at one time if you wanna or one at a time>Patch
Okay I keep asking this. If nobody answers I will get all spammy and whatnot. Can somebody IM me and step by step me through making a new 1.2.5 server with MO creatures? I followed the YT tutorial but the commentator is arrogant and assumes everybody's PC is the same if yours doesn't work like his he gets hostile towards you.

Yeah I am not lazy, its just that tekkit is insanely outdated. If you read my other posts I have been on tekkit for a while now.

Wanna know something cool. Perhaps. He was proud of himself? Regardless of whether he was trying to impress or not. How about you stop being rude.
