my minecraft crashes too

Blame Direwolf cause he didn't make a modpack so it can be easy for every lazy person out there. Blame him because most of the mod authors don't allow their mods to be included in modpacks. Blame him for not just making a mod pack anyways, taking what little compensation the mod authors get for all the hard work they put into their mods that they give to you for free. Blame him for posting a step by step guide on youtube to make it easy for you, and for posting his config files which would fix the most common errors you would have.

Spend your time making silly achievement pictures that hardly make sense. Don't post some information about your problem so that someone might come along, recognize your problem, and help you fix it so that you can have fun along with us.
[/sarcasm]

Guess what? Modding isn't easy! Neither is real life! At least modding your minecraft is free! Stop doing useless stuff like this and post some information so we can help you just get to having fun. And by the way getting our help is free too!

Error logs or it didn't happen. Modloader.txt, and/or minecraft's displayed error log.

Thanks for using spoiler tags, not quoting the entire original post, and keeping your capslock off in the future. I could tell you the answer here, but your forum etiquette is distracting and causes me to want to help you fix it instead of your other problem. So the solution to this problem is shown in direwolf's video, you are expected to get this error once. Go watch the video and you will find the fix.
Should you then have a problem after fixing that, feel free to come back and ask about it. :smile.gif:

I am on a Mac, you're right. And it did exactly what you said. But! I found a fix (that didn't involve getting the vanilla .paulscode folder! well, it did, but it wasnt from the vanilla .jar)--at the IC2 site, under the "install tutorial" page, at the bottom is a line of very small text saying something like this:

"if you have issues with AudioMod and slow load times, crashes, etc, install this file in your .jar and replace the existing one."

That file was a *complete* version of the .paulscode folder, complete with all the files that IC2 calls for that don't exist in the download of AudioMod that is on Risugami's ModLoader thread. (IMHO, AudioMod should say that you need to add the new files, not replace the folder. Even if it's only Mac OSX that has the issue)

Everything (except portalgun) works like a charm now. I'm pleased as punch with myself.

Hopefully this can help someone else with the same problem!

PS thank you for the response, even though I fixed it before I saw your post. I appreciate the effort!

No problem, glad you found a fix for that, and noted as an "easy mode" I can give to mac users using IC2 and audiomod :smile.gif: Something about Risugami's faq makes me think he is a little Mac racist :tongue.gif: I don't have one myself but that's the most common problem people have with Audiomod.

Quote from snakemaster1

thanks it IC2 v.1.43

it works fine now

It always is. You can tell by it being the last thing on modloader.txt before the zlib failure.

Quote from CalumE5

I followed direwolf's instructions on the video by opening up the config file, but Windows told me that it didn't know what program to use to open it with, so I can't make the change.

I thought that by downloading direwolf's worl, since the configs were being overwritten it may fix the issue, but it didn't. I think I may be taking the wrong part of direwolf's world, I'm just taking the big folder with the four subfolders inside it and dumping it in .minecraft, can somebody please tell me where I'm going wrong?

Help on either issue would be appreciated, thanks,
CalumE5

99.99% of config files are opened with notepad regardless of what extension the author gives them. General computer tip: you can open any file with notepad. Most times you just get some garbled mess that is useless, but configuration files are generally notepad and eyeball friendly, even in the latest and greatest games. You can't break anything if you don't save the file you opened though, so don't be afraid to use it to look.

Sounds like you are installing the configs correctly though, not sure why it would be troublesome. Direwolf might have missed a file or two again, or you don't have the same versions of the mods, or you're on a mac and it's replacing folders instead of merging them. No way to know without seeing an error log like modloader.txt.

I have all of those mods installed (excluding railcraft, recipe book, minecart compatibility layer, convenient inventory, and TMI) with optifine, codechickenloader, codechickencore, rei's minimap, computercraft, and powercrystal's power converters. They work fine except that after a few minutes minecraft black screens and closes, unless I use a minecraft error test .bat file. If I use the minecraft error test .bat file then an error message is created in a seemingly random folder on my computer. One thing I noticed about the location was that it was always one folder up from the folder my .minecraft backup was in. Here is the error message:

Well I think that error message is far more gobbledygook than most people will be able to understand. Unless one of those people do come by, try to get the error that minecraft gives, not the one Java gives. iChun posted this program on his portal gun thread to help get the error messages. It will print debug messages from Minecraft in a command prompt so you can copy them. Post that and we'll see where we can go from there.

I disagree! Every 10 episodes or so would be way better.

posted a message on Video Tutorial - How to install my Lets Play mods all together
Quote from rdo197

When i tried to add additional pipes by zeldo it came up with a block id error on the chunkloader. I have IC2, Buildcraft, redpower 2 version 4b, logistics pipes 0.1.4, TMI, adn advanced machines. Any clue how to fix that ID? I downloaded all these mods on christmas and I don't know most of their versions.

How to fix that is shown in Direwolf's installation video.

Quote from Yoda1837

Same thing with me, with the same few lines at the end, except I don't have railcraft.

When I install all of these mods with Optifine and MCPatcher and excluding Railcraft, whenever I hit a block the game crashes, and there's no error in the Modloader.txt

Did I do something wrong here?

EDIT: Here is my Modloader.txt anyways:

What order did you install things in the minecraft.jar? I install modloader, mp, forge, audiomod, optifine, then everything else.

it worked and thank you very much there is one very minor issue and thats that the font is a little spaced out nothing bad

and sense that helped a lot i pressed the +1 button on some of your post's

There is a addon for faithful to fix that font issue when it's used with OptiFine, in the Faithful post among the other mods. Just find it and package it into your faithful .zip. Glad to hear I helped :smile.gif:
