Ever since The Collector and 2 Double Chests I have been very driven to accomplish some semblance of this goal. Filling a double chest with every item in the game is a daunting task, but in some ways, is not quite as bad as many imagine. Resource aquisition is my favorite aspect of Minecraft, and I feel I cannot build until I have a sufficient quantity of a certain item. There has been some demand for my to make my own thread on this subject for a little while, and I guess its not such a bad idea. I want to give credit to Arbitrax and Eleutherius for creating their original threads; I can never claim this was originally my idea.
The biggest difference between my final goal, and that of the makers of these inspirational threads is that I have never had any hope to truly achieve "a double chest of EVERYTHING". Maybe I'm a pessimist; certain items just sound SO unrealistic, I don't want to set my sights too high. In some ways, certain items don't seem like they warrant having. For instance, why make a double chest full of wooden shovels? I can make it at any time, it only takes 27 wood.
Some advanced items also seem like a waste of time. Using 3456 (the amount held within a double chest) of a resource is a very distinct possibility. Using 3456 jukeboxes, on the other hand . . . seems out of the question.
That being said . . . I'm not willing to entirely ignore these items, but in the name of not burning myself out, I have made a "moderate" list which will still be sufficiently difficult to achieve, without being completely out of the question. I will include excluded items in a separate list, as a bonus, but I will not feel driven to complete them until I finish.
I invite anyone to join me in this endeavor. There is no shame in trying, and then giving up. I myself have no intention of doing so.

The server is down until i fix an issue.
The map itself has a corrupted chunk so currently in the process of downloading, fixing and reuploading the map.
Earlyer the server lost most of it stored data. Factions, MCMMO and Iconomy accounts were all lost. There is no recovary of this. Factions will be rebuilt and Icon accounts will no be refunded. Still deciding on what to dofor MCMMO.
Sorry for all the problems encountered over the last few days. -

Use any block that is not stone based, wood based, glass based, or sand based to get the piano sound. Even air will make that sound. The reason I say piano is because the other sounds are bass guitar, bass drum, snare drum, and clicks, and I don't think any of those sound like a door bell.

But an abandoned mineshaft always ends somewhere, it just might be that you found a very large one. :>
I am not sure about strongholds. But I have heard there are three in a map.
I believe there is only one, because why would there be more than one End?
A quick look on the wiki would probably solve any questions you have. :>
