Another seed change. What a seed gets you woudl now depend on biome size selection.
Would be nice if villages would spawn in snow biomes, both with and without trees.

Apr 22, 2012Vorg posted a message on Minecraft Snapshot 12w16a Available For Testing! This bonus chest, Seems the most useful item/s that it should have would be first, a map sheet and second a compass. All basic tools and food needed to get going can be gained the first/second day. Get some wood, make basic tools, sword, pick, axe, get more wood, maybe kill an animal or two for food and dig in for night. While dug in, dig down/around to get some stone and make a forge, then use some of the wood to make charcoal and torches to light up your hide out along with basic stone tools. If you have enough wood, make a door so you can see when it is day.Posted in: News
But to explore, it's very easy to get lost, even if you make a tower with torches on it. It's also easy to end up going in circles. A map would be the most useful thing starting out that you can not easly get without using an inventory editor, to see what is around and where. - To post a comment, please login.

That mod makes it work more like it does in DF which would be nice. I wish it had been done that way.

I take it the sand is for catus? Because reeds will grown on dirt, but only next to water where you put the sand. Catus on the other hand only need sand and light and room around them.

I was playing around with seeds looknig for just the right one to build. Also used a program called AMIDST to both find out where to look for them and move my char. I want a hilly snow are right clost to a village near where the starting spawn. One deseart biome had 3 villages in it.
