posted a message on [1.4.5] Cannot log into servers, Read timed out.
Since a few hours ago, I started getting this thing, Certain servers I tried to join weren't letting me log on, for example, I tried logging on to a Hunger Games server, and it takes a long time saying logging in, and finally, the read timed out sentence pops up.

    Thanks for the help

Hmm, For the registry part, If you don't completely know what your doing its probably best for waiting for someone who actually knows what he/she is saying to give you advice:)

Well, thanks for the advice, I have someone that will look at my CPU tomorrow anyways, but I'm still considering deleting the Java files, which would be a rather easy task no? I'm going to surf the web a bit more on downloading the 1.5.0 Run time application, its seems that it is valid downloadable content.
Thank you for your time helping me.

    Quote from Darkcheesecake

Ever since I updated to 1.4.2 my sound has been replaced with horrible static. I thought that the issue would be fixed in the 1.4.4 update but the problem is still there. I've tried redownloading minecraft and replacing lwjgl but nothing seems to make any difference. Does anyone know what to do to fix this problem? I am running mac os 10.5.8 on a 1.8GHz dual core ppc G5

The problem I conclude is not your CPU, but your sound card driver has possibly been damaged, or just needs to be updated, hence the fact that after some updates through minecraft, the sound overflow is a needy update, but I'm not a mac expert. so go with possibly updating your sound card driver, or locating a CPU guy near you for assistance.

Just a question? Is this minecraft related? Couse I don't see it anywhere. Maybe this is not the right section, of even the right forum. Other then that: try to delete java's files and registery items. Also; Google 'Download Java Runtime application 1.5.0' Maybe you can just get it manually somewhere.

I've looked into deleting the registry files, yet messing up is likely, since I'm not to much of an experienced CPU person. Though I'm putting thought into doing that, I do not know where to delete Java's files and registry items, any idea where I could locate those? via a windows insight.

EDIT: I've also tried to download the 1.5.0 Run time, yet there is no valid looking download that would be worth a look at, I'm fine with looking more, thanks for the Ideas!

Optifine should work, you may have selected the incorrect Optifine version for your minecraft fps.

posted a message on Launcherjr - this application requires a java run time environment 1.5.0
Hey, I recently decided to update my Java manually, yet in the process, something went wrong, causing this error in the apparent Java Run time Environment. I'm using Windows, and I soon decided to remove Java completely from my system, successfully removing its add-on's. But not the update: Java 7 Update 9. What comes up when I attempt to log on to minecraft: Launcherjr Requires Java Runtime application 1.5.0, the error code wasn't with it, just a simple small open page concluding the information stated above as well as in the title.

Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi, when I try to install this mod I encounter a problem. the FML mod starts up, with the little pop up, and it'll load, but then when I look at my minecraft I'm faced with a blank screen. I've installed it many times, making sure I'm following each step, making sure I deleted Meta-INF. I downloaded every mod on the front page, but I'm still faced with this blank screen. :\

    Thanks,
    Cat

The problem, is most likely the version of the mod. there are no updates for 1.4.2 as of now.
