I hadn't played minecraft for a while, I stopped right around when villages were being made. I decided to log in and check out some of the new stuff like trading.
I spawned right next to an awesome desert village, made of sandstone. I thought it was a great starting place, and took residence in one of the large homes there. I started decorating, gathering some supplies, and traded for my first emerald. Then night came, and that is when things went bad.
Apparently at some point they made it so zombies can break down doors on certain difficulty settings. I had it on normal, but apparently they still try to break down the door. This being a village it attracts a lot of zombies, and it being a village means there are a lot of doors. This wouldn't be any issue at all, if it weren't for the fact that the sound of a zombie trying to break down a door is a VERY loud and VERY obtrusive banging sound. Multiply this by several zombies and several doors, and I actually am getting headaches from it.
I know people will probably suggest I should just turn the sound off. However, I should not have to. This is bad game design. The sound is the loudest sound in the game, and more annoying than creepers blowing your stuff up. I like being able to listen to the music and game sounds, not to mention it is important to have sound on for survival reasons. Anyways, what I am here for is possible solutions. I thought perhaps other players also annoyed by this might have found any workarounds.
I can't replace all the doors to iron doors or the villagers would be stuck. I can't sleep because monsters are nearby. I go to kill them but they just seem nonstop every night, not to mention the dangers of creepers etc.
Is it just me or does using mods require quite a bit of technical knowledge and is not simple at all? So many mods require you to download modloader this, modloader that, etc. Is there any simple way to add mods? I see videos of them and really want to try them out but they never work when I try to follow instructions. I really want to try out Mo Creatures, Steam Craft, etc. I've been trying to get this stuff to work for quite a while now. :sleep.gif:
Is there anyway I could just donate RL money to get someone to make a server.jar with the mods I'd like for my server?
