Maybe you may remember me from here. That resource pack wasn't very accepted and I thought I could do better, so I decided to go on a brand new project and make a new resource pack that looked and felt good, but that it wasn't "bucket filled". Here's the outcome, I hope you like it. Remember this is a work in progress so if you have any recommendation write it down below. BTW, this resource pack is made above my other pack, so some of the textures might be the ones of my previous pack. Enjoy!
DISCLAIMER: After you download the pack, uncompress it before placing it on the Resource Pack folder. You should get a regular folder named "Contempo". If you don't do this, pack may not work.
If you want to play on this map click the spoiler below:
To play on this map, my server is: 192.168.1.102
This is a regular map with no restrictions. Griefing is not allowed, and if the map is heavily griefed it will be restored to original.
I'll try to keep it online all the time

I'm assuming your problem is that, you can't see your pack in the "Resource Pack" selection screen.
When you open up your Resource Pack's .zip file inside you should immediately see these files: /assets (the "assets" folder), pack.mcmeta, & pack.png
Also make sure your Resource Pack's .zip file isn't a .rar file. Minecraft doesn't recognize .rar files, so it doesn't display it in the "Resource Pack" selection screen.
Nope, my resource pack works perfectly. All three files are inside, and it is a .zip file, not a .rar file. But in order to play it, I need to decompress it, it doesn't work as a Zip file. But decompressed can be seen in the Resource Pack selection screen.
Jun 21, 2014Hello,Posted in: Resource Pack Help
I have been creating my own resource pack for some months, but it only works unzipped. I do not know why, and I was trying recently to use Curse's Resource Pack hosting and I couldn't because it doesn't accept folders. What do I do? BTW, my resource pack is down below on my signature, just click it.

Jan 14, 2014Posted in: Resource PacksQuote from TaiineThere are well over 16k packs EXACTLY like this one, and those are just ones with 'simple' in the title. Please don't add to the count. A word about texturepacks Some basic things to consider before you start making your resource packQuote from SketchDang, you really crank these out, giving me the idea that this is a bucket fill pack. We don't need any more of those, one called oCd is good enough.
Actually, many people are against it, but other are in favor. Right now many modern designs are flat or basically "bucket filled". Apple's iOS 7 can be called "Bucket Filled" because it has really easy to make design of the OS. But people didn't just like it, they loved it. It was a complete success. Even though I will keep with my simplicity idea, I will try to include more colors on the texture. And BTW, i don't use MS Paint (I don't even have a PC), I use Adobe Fireworks CS6, and I have 1 year using it so far.

Right now you need to work on that shading. Light bounces off objects into our eyes. Where there is no to little light hitting an object, there is a shadow. See how light interacts with objects, and try to incorporate light and shadow into your work.
Also, it's generally better to not reuse the same texture, but recoloured, for different blocks. Right now, I can see at least 3 blocks with the same, recoloured texture. Different materials feel and look different to each other.
Also, avoid completely bucket filling areas, like you did with grass. Grass is made of many tiny leaves. It's not entirely flat. Right now, if you hadn't shown me the grass in minecraft, and just showed me the texture in a 3x3 layout, I don't think I would be able to tell if it's grass.
The grass is flat because the principal idea I had for the pack was a flat simple texture. I already finished Beta 5, and I hope I have fixed the shadow part.

It does actually look pretty well, but don't bump it that much. And then change the name, a texture pack called "VTheBeast Recourse Pack" doesn't really look like a pack that could be nice. Name it something cool and then put something extra to make it look more attracting. Just keep on going and you will have a great pack by the end of the month, and maybe a relatively popular pack by the summer.
I was going to put VTheBeast's Simple RP but I had to change the text in the pics and all that and I said "Nah, Still got lot to do with the textures". But thanks for the advice! Maybe when it's finished I'll change the name. Also thanks for the support!
