You could do everything in your questions if you wish. It's your right to rederess, never let a company strong arm you into giving that up.
Remember as a consumer, I have ever right to: A.)Have an opinion about that company that I tell my friends and family. B.)Not support that company's products. There's nothing Curse can do to stop that.
Advertising servers that are against the EULA is a decision that was made by Curse and we're all perfectly free to not support that.if we wish.

At first, my thoughts echoed most of the "p2w is evil!!!! Report!!!!" attitude in this thread. I agree that servers selling $50 diamond swords have a problem, and shouldn't be allowed to exploit players as they do.
However, I tried starting a server without selling anything, and it's hard! A decent server will cost around $20 - $60 a month, (just for one that can hold around 40 players!!) and it's really hard to afford that kind of cost just for a game. Don't say you can run it at your house, I have a very beefy computer and it struggles when more than 4 people are on. Without some kind of income, it's just not reasonable to expect completely payment free servers to be the norm. So I added some custom items that can be crafted, or bought for real money. I balanced them against normal players by making them extremely weak at PvP by giving no armor bonus, but giving effects such as extra speed to the wearer or whatever. I think this kind of thing should be allowed, since no one is put at a disadvantage, and non paying players can attain these same items ingame.
You're welcome to disagree with me, but unless I get a reasonable complaint against what I'm doing by someone who actually plays on my server, I'm not going to change it. It works, no one has to buy ridiculous $50 "God ranks", and the benefits are mostly PvE.

As long as you enjoy it, why does it matter? I couldn't care less if Minecraft popularity tanks. I don't judge a game's value on its hype.
PS, I like the fact that they keep adding stuff. The more complex the better, keeps it interesting. That's why I like stuff like Tekkit, so much extra stuff.

Ice, in his infinite wisdom has decided we need a new revision of something so difficult to play that it makes Magic Farm II look like it was simple. The Infernal Mobs can detect you from 200 blocks away. I think that is most of the loaded chunks when you log in. Every fifth mob is an Infernal Mob. Not only could we not get more than 5 blocks from spawn, but the mobs are also smarter than us. They nerdpole up. They break your base down. They put TNT everywhere! Someone who shall not be named *cough* Sir Ice *cough* put in a creeper that has the most horrible power of all! It plays the John Cena music theme and then the super zombie John Cena appears and blam!
The zombie leaves a crater the size a nuclear reactor going off. Fortunately, we convinced Ice that zombie was a bit overpowered and he took him out of the game. For now, Ice is taking time to rebalance the game. I’d like to see this game get some attention from the folks at Feed the Beast and Curse and get some real development. I feel like a lot of modpacks get hype, but don’t live up to the “do or die” scenario that Magic Farm II had years ago.
I’m working on my PTST with John Cena Music.. and in the meantime waiting on the new update!
Once I get the new update, I'll add a list of mods included, but I don't know how Ice builds the custom .jar so.. that may be hard to get ahold of. You can test out this pack on our server: V.RageQuitNetwork.com, but this pack is not available in single player yet. Sirlce is working on making it single player available at the moment. Update should be here next week.
