1. Apologies if this has already been addressed, but if I install both this mod and the "More Pistons" mod, it causes pistons, even vanilla pistons, not to work in the small scale. It would be AWESOME if these two mods could work together, or at least let the vanilla pistons still work. =P
I don't really know how to achieve that, this is not working because I think both mods modify the class BlockPistonBase.
2. Is there a way to use SinglePlayerCommands' Worldedit commands to edit little-block areas? Currently it just treats is as a single block with metadata. This is likely more a question for the creator of the SPC mod, but I thought I'd ask while I was here. ^^
I don't think there is a way to do that, or it will be quite hard to do.
3. You probably already know this, but minecarts don't work on tiny rails. Just FYI, sice it wasn't listed in the first post... XD
I know that Every entity is not working ^^
Excellent!!
Yeah, I didn't expect it would be easy to do and I was thinking these features should appear sometime within it's release cycle, not necessarily in the first release. It also seems like the next logical progression in Minecraft to my mind. It started out as a fantasy/medieval based program, through mods we can achieve modern technology so it's natural that space should be next and then other planets.
I agree with you. The most difficult part will really be the planets. To make that we need to change a lot of things in the way worlds are generated and saved. And we also need to change the gravity and a lot of physics. Also space ships will be quite difficult to achieve since we want to make something as customizable as possible.
Oh, and I've seen you use the term 'we' a couple of times recently. I always assumed that it was just you, on your own, developing this mod. Are you actually a team?
Actually it's quite complicated. Little blocks mod was only made by me, after this mod me and a friend created a modding team called "SlimeVoid" but now this friend is away and I'm alone in this "team". Anyways I don't see me making this news mod alone so a friend of mine may join the team to help me. If he don't I'll probably not do this mod :/
Some suggestions/ideas for you to tinker with, if you aren't already doing these.
1) Non-breathable environments requiring a space suit of some kind (i.e. space itself). Pretty obvious but linked to....
2) Breathable environments. Some kind of airlock system that allows suitless exploring within a sealed area. Maybe selectable in a similar way to the Zeppelin mod where only certain materials seal in air.
3) Rockets/spaceships would require HUGE amounts of fuel or lesser amounts of something extremely rare. Maybe 'borrow' a dilithium crystal idea.
4) You say planets - as in different dimensions for each planet? If so then YAY!!
Everything you said is planned at some points :D. But that will not be easy to do, we have really a lot to modify
I kill myself to wear the mod on 1.2.5 r1.0 craftbukkit or R1.2
I go a little good but hey it's still not it.
Now I use minecraftforge that works wonders.
The problem is that I still can not put the mod littleblocks (v1.13 out now)
But I think I have applied the right way, let me explain:
I install the mod in minecraft_server.jar (modloadermv 1.2.5v1 already installed;))
I then decompile with mcp (the latest release 0.62)
then I get the class of the mod that I get into a new project jaja (of eclipse)
I change all imports "net.minecraft.src" to "net.minecraft.server"
and I'm not too sure ....
I compile and add the class or live in my craftbukkit I compile an archive that I place in the mod folder managed server?
anyway I've already tried the two solutions without success.
then here again, I ask the help of a kind soul. this mod is really awesome (thank you to the team sleamvoid for his great work) and I'd really like to share my players.
on it, thank you in advance
I think it is really more complicated to make a mod work with craftbukkit and also the mod doesn't really suits big servers since if you have too much Little blocks block in the same place the clients will get an overflow when joining the server.
No. There is a mod (TinyBlocks I think??) that supposedly works with modded blocks but they aren't as small as these (8 small blocks per normal block) so you can't get anywhere near the detail. I haven't tried it so I can't say how well it works and I prefer this mod.
Actually some blocks from other mods may work here, but any usable block (chest, crafting table, furnace...) need a little modification to work.
whenever i install this mod without modloader, minecraft runs as if the mod was not installed (i place the dirt in a crafting table and nothing happens). If i do use modloader the game crashes upon start-up, and a text box appears for half a second then disappears (no exaggeration). I was not using any other mods (except for modloader as said above). META-INF was deleted every time i tried to install this mod. Any ideas on how i can fix this?
Hi VengeurK, I've got a few thoughts on Little Blocks after playing with it and Gulliver.
It's usually tricky to completely remove a LittleBlock field, but a couple times I've hit a small block while building a minihouse, and the whole LittleBlock field disappeared.
My suggestion is to use a LittleBlock to remove a LittleBlock field, so that if you place one inside a completely empty LittleBlock field, the field will disappear and you'll get back both LittleBlocks as drops. If the LittleBlock field isn't empty, then placing a LittleBlock will just cause small blocks nearby (like within a 2-tinyblock radius) to break and appear as drops, along with that LittleBlock.Doing this would help with quick "erasing" of bunches small blocks and prevent accidentally breaking the whole LittleBlock by hand, with the side benefit of avoiding "Littleception"
Right now, all placed non-liquid small blocks act like solid whole blocks when it comes to collisions, even torches, plants and redstone wire. Slabs and Stairs also act as full blocks instead of half, so you can't use them as steps when you're 1/8 size in Gulliver.
If you use partial collision boxes for these block types, then you could walk up Slabs and Stairs when downsized. It would also be better if you could walk through small redstone wire blocks, but I kinda like having small plants and torches be "solid", it makes them feel plastic
There's a bug where in some sections of a LittleBlock field, when I try to place a block, it ends up getting placed as a regular-sized block above the LittleBlock field. (I'm 1/8 size Gulliver when I do that, so it may be a problem on my end instead of yours.)
I've gotten a request for useable LittleBlocks Doors, Fence Gates, Crafting Tables, Furnaces and Beds. I would probably need to coordinate something with you for using small Beds as sleeping/spawn points.
I hope my ideas help. Thanks for developing this fun little mod
First of all, thanks a lot for feedback like that! I'll try to not forget to fix all the problems you lighted up. I don't thing I can get Doors working but I can give it a try!
I forgot you achieved this mod by creating your own little universe inside the normal world.
It would be an excellent addition to this mod to have some way of using schematics in the LB world. I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future.
On another note, and I hope this isn't just me as I haven't seen anyone else mention it for a while, but is there anything else you (or me) can look at to reduce frame rate lag. When I have quite a few LB's (50-100) in an area the fps drops considerably until I am out of sight and then it pops back up. Without LB's I usually get about 65-75 fps with Optifine and MC settings on full. Add enough LB's and it drops to about 30 fps.
Any suggestions/ideas?
Sorry if this is an old question that you've answered many times before.
I'll see if I can do something, but I'm really not good at optimization ^^.
EDIT: Owww, I remember now, if Optifine is enabled I need to switch to an other method to renderize LBs and this method cost a lot more than the other one. Therefore Optifine actually makes you loose FPS if you have a large amount of LBs.
Thanks for the info on e-sports. Not what I was expecting. It's not what I'd class as 'sport'.
For me a sport is more about competition and cult of personality than physical activity, then that's why I consider eSport as a sport ; anyways I agree that it is a very different sport than the others since the players doesn't win as much money and the supporters aren't as much grouped and fighting each other because "My town's football team is better than yours".
I can tell you that since the MC 1.2.3 version up to you latest MC 1.2.5. (LB 1.12) that a config file has been generated but it just has the checksum info in it, there is no option to change the ID. Even copy/pasting that line from an old file didn't appear to work.
Oww, I am going to take a look at this right now :).
I am assuming that Nathanimalius means going from normal sized schematics to LittleBlock size.
I was going to ask this awhile ago but assumed it would be really difficult, so it is good to see that you think it may not be too hard. Of course things may be different once you try.
I will state generally though that MCEdit WILL import and export schematics that feature LittleBlocks. In MCEdit all you'll see is a normal sized bright pink block (depending on your texture pack?) wherever a LB block is placed, but at least it means creations can be built and saved off for storage or transfer to other maps.
Actually, reading schematics as Little Blocks is not really difficult since the only thing you it needs is to read the .schematic and instead of using the normal world I have just to use my "Little World".
However adding the feature to save Little Blocks in schematics with normal blocks is another problem much more difficult since it implies to modify how schematics are written.
Sorry, I can't work on the server tonight, I was busy watching the IronSquid Grand Finals (an epic SC II tournament). I'm a big fan of eSport.
I will not be able to work tomorrow and the next day but I hope that I will be able to on Tuesday. Thanks a lot for downloading that much theses two days!

Planets will be in the same world, you will drive the space ship. No loading screen

Do you have installed ModLoaderMP ?

I think I added one, I can't check right now but I think it was in the same folder as the ModLoader config file.
Not yet but maybe one day, that's a good idea and that's not too difficult to do I think.
