    I had a spiral escalator created that was working exceptionally well, very similar to the video below. Even got the timing down to 1 piston activation per tick so the escalator worked very fast. I had one built in single and multiplayer and they were both pretty flawless.

    However after 1.8 update the single player escalator seems to falter about 1/4 of the time and the one I have built on our multiplayer server absolutely will not work when timed to 1 piston activation per tick. It works better if I change the timing to a piston activation every 2 ticks, but even then it is still fairly unreliable.

    It seems to be that the reason for the majority of failures is that the pistons are not pushing the player completely onto the next position so that when the next piston activates the players movement into the next position is obstructed just slightly.

    Anyone else have something similar to this and running into this problem?

    Was there some sort of 'slip' inherent with characters where if being pushed they would slide past a minor obstacle, like being only slightly obstructed by a corner, that was removed?

    Are pistons not pushing characters in the same manner they were?

    I know this is a pretty basic device compared to what I've seen here, but put a lot of effort into this for it to be completely useless anymore.

    Advice please.

    I had a very tall spiral piston elevator working well in both single and multiplayer in 1.7. Wasn't too hard to accomplish and had the timing down to each sequential piston going off every tick.

    After updating to 1.8 the elevator is shaky, it absolutely will not work at a piston firing each tick so I changed it to a piston firing every two ticks, which seems to be better. It will get me to the top sometimes, however it isn't anywhere near what I would call reliable. It seems that the elevator is failing because I am not being completely pushed onto the next piston so that the next piston in the sequence ends up unable to push me into the open space.

    Is anyone else having this problem?

    Was there some sort of auto correct in 1.7 that would slip my character into an open space even if I wasn't perfectly aligned that was removed?

    Were pistons altered in some way that they aren't always pushing characters fully?

    Spent too much time building these =(
