1. What is the name of your idea?
RPG concept on sleeping
2. What group does it fall under?
Nothing really, you can call it an average activity
3. What subgroup does it fall under?
like in the past anwser, it does´t fit much anywhere
4. Give a detailed description of your idea.
1.0 Introduction
This idea aims to incorporate some conepts of sleeping, in an RPG way, without the need of actual minecraft sleeping, all you need is a bed.
1.1 How to's.
When you are standing next to a bed, and right click it, a menu opens up, this menu is a sleeping panel, in here you choose how you would like to use the bed, you can either power nap, rest, sleep a short time, or sleep a long time, every kind of use of the bed is made out of 3 factors:
Time it uses:
The time it uses is the number of times you can use a bed this way today, for example, just resting takes a really short ammount of time, lets say 4, this means you can rest on a bed 4 times everyday, the time it takes to do this doesn´t affect actual minecraft´s time, its just a limit of the times you can do a certain action everyday.
Effects:
Every way to use the bed has different effects, some ways to use a bed may share some effects with others, this effects shouldn´t be really hard do code because they are planed to be just average stat modification.
Strength/lenght of effects:
Logically, just resting won´t "fill your batteries" more than sleeping 8 hours, so all ways of using a bed have different effect intensity and length.
2.0 The bed uses (sketch)
(remember: MD = minecraft day)
Resting:
Time:10
Effects:
-Hunger reduction (hunger drained 2% slower) for 5 minutes (1/2 MD)
-Health regeneration boost (health regeneration increases 2% for 5 minutes (1/2 MD)
Power napping:
Time:4
-Numbness (Speed -5%, accuracy -5% strenght -5% agi -2%) for 2 minutes (1/5 MD)
-Hunger reduction (hunger drained 5% slower) for 5 minutes (1/2 MD)
-Health regeneration boost (health regeneneration increases 5% for 5 minutes (1/2 MD)
Short term sleeping:
Time:2
-Numbness (Speed -10% accuracy -10% strenght -10% agi -10%) for 2 minutes (1/5 MD)
-Vitality (Speed +5% accuracy +5% strenght +5% agi + 5%) for 4 minutes (2/5 MD)
Note: Vitality is ONLY applied AFTER the Numbness effect dissapears, for example, if numbness lasts 4 minutes, Vitality will be activated for its full length 4 minutes after sleeping)
-Hunger increase (2 hunger slots drained instantly) instant effect
-Hunger reduction (hunger drained 5% slower) for 10 minutes (1 MD)
-Health regeneration (Health regenerates 1/2 heart regardless of hunger) for 10 minutes (1 MD)
Long term sleeping:
Time:1
Effects (except for Numbness) are exactly the same as in short term sleeping, but their duration, and intensity are doubled, including nwgative effects like hunger uncrease, as for Numbness, it stays the same as in short term sleeping, no changes at all.
2.1 Note on effect stacking:
Effects will stack but only if they come for the same ability, for example, if you take a power nap 2 times, the effects will sum up meaning you would have something like this:
-Numbness (Speed -10%, accuracy -10% strenght -10% agi -4%) for 4 minutes (2/5 MD)
-Hunger reduction (hunger drained 10% slower) for 10 minutes (1 MD)
-Health regeneration boost (health regeneneration increases 10% for 5 minutes (1 MD)
But if after taking 2 powernaps, you just rest, the power nap accumulated effects are deleted, and you only have the effects from resting one time, this is done to permit effect stacking, but to avoid overpowering.
5. Include a picture if needed.
6. Any other miscellaneous information that might be useful to know:
This sort of effects are kind of inspired in The Elder Scrolls long term spell/potion effects, i really belive they could fit in with this mod, also, this system is flexible to modification, you can add as much positive or negative effects as you want, for example, a while ago i was thinking of nightmares, but thats another topic.

As long as Aeron adds his own things, from scratch (a reasonable amount, not a useless class) and does not simply modify only base classes, he retains the right to sell his mod in whatever way he likes, as long as he does NOT distribute all of the core game files freely. Besides that, it is Mojang's decision as to who exactly sells mods and who doesn't, and from the professionalism I have gleaned from Aeron and the time he has spent on it, I highly doubt he would not have researched the legality of this mod and its cost prior to working on it for as long as he has.

Hate to be a wet towel or whatever, just think that this statement isn't entirely correct. I doubt Mojang isn't adding things like you plan on adding due to stubborness, stupidity, lack of realisation or "holding themselves back". I think that Markus worked for an incredibly long time to actually get the initial engine running, and that they are making Minecraft by something both Markus and Jens have said on many occassions. The success of Minecraft lies in the community. This simply adds more flesh to your argument.
People like you, like Alblaka, like Eloraam, like FlowerChild, like TheVoxelBox crew, like PaperbatVG, like Uberhaxornova, like paulsawsjr and like every single other person that has anything to gain from Minecraft are the untapped potential you speak of. If Mojang had already added all these things, sure you wouldn't have had to mod them in, but what is the possibility a learning experience like the one you seem to be having would pop up again? And all the other people I mentioned are already making money and skills they need to continue on their way. PaperbatVG is a perfect example. From Machinima Director to one of the most popular MC Let's Play makers I know of to beginning work on a 3D indie RPG Platformer Action game.
This may sound like some stupid fanboys argument but I am doing this to support your own argument and state what I believe is the truth. Minecraft is a game about the community, not about the developers packing everything they can into the game and making a quick buck.

You have done things with this game I have never thought possible and you are still coming up with new concepts!
I would really love to see the sloping coming into play, especially if it was possible to have corner slopes that weren't too edgey. The new octagonal logs are brilliant, and if the full game had the same rendering as your logs did, there may be a lot less problems with lag. Making every item you have added in an entity has given you so much more breathing room in terms of what you are able to add! You are revolutionising the way I look at mods, and after this is finished, I believe you could revolutionise modding for the entire community. I have watched this mod for as long as I have known about it, frequently checking for new videos and screenshots, and hoping for an update all the time. You are doing an incredible job, and I think you deserve recognition for this because, quite frankly, no one has had the guts to do everything you have done so far.
Now, I have gotten past the praise. Onto the suggestions. I was browsing the WIP section and the Mod Discussion section the other day and found an interesting mod. It basically changed the way the textures were showed. It randomised the orientation of the block textures to a maximum of 8 different rotations (0/2/4/6/8 different rotations, depending on how many axes of symmetry there are in the texture). I thought this was a really great idea, as it added more variety to the land. I think if you were to implement something similar, even in the late stages of the mod, it would add even more to the atmosphere I think Realms will add. I don't know, though, if you would want to add this in. I mean, it could add issues with lag or your new textures may have no symmetry, or you simply think it looks (or seems) too silly. I am just entertaining the thought, but as I said, it might not work.

You didn't need to get angry at everyone the way you did. You simply could have ignored us all. I already reported the guy because of excessive swearing but quite frankly the way you act towards others in cases like these is excessive. As I have stated through PM and otherwise, I know where you are coming from. Trust me when I say, I have dealt with worse on ocassion. It is still unclear as to what was being referred to (between the cookie incident and the competition). We don't need you strutting around saying how right you are when all it does is make things worse. I think this may be the last time I post here besides the competition. I am looking forward to this mod, but in terms of further relations with its creators, I will keep that to a minimum until I can see you lose the pride you have that is keeping this going.
I was wrong to try to see both sides of the argument. I was wrong to bring together everybodys opinion and try to get you to see reason. I was wrong to stand up for the people who you simply yelled at because you didn't see what they were saying and only saw it as their effort at insulting you. Most of all, I am sorry for the time I wasted today in getting involved. I am sick of seeing our modding community in the state where things like this are commonplace, and where we cannot all simply get along or at least have mutual friendships with each other due to our love of the game. If you want an apology, you can have it. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.

Click report or leave it be. Stop being so matter-of-fact and "I told you so" cause it isn't getting you anywhere,

If this person who pirates it dislikes some features of the game (Technic Pack) he will only tell them about what he likes. In the case of the Technic Pack, say someone likes Tale of Kingdoms and Redpower and IC2, but dislikes Buildcraft and Xies Farming. They will go to their friends and say "You should go download ToK, RP2 and IC2 with MC Forge and use them together, it's great fun!". His friends will then go to each forum post and download each mod seperately and install them on their own.
Now, if I were the creator who didn't worry too much about copyright breaches, I would prefer 1 person didn't ask so that hundreds, if not thousands could find out about my work. If I was a corporate company with common sense, I would see Piracy as a marketing ploy. If someone breached my copyright, I would simply ask them for some credit and be done with it.
Of course what Kakermix did wasn't right but if the modders felt it appropriate to do so, they would have contacted the appropriate people and had the Technic pack removed. It has been months now and I don't see Eloraam here flaming Kaker, I don't see Kaker here screaming at all of us common folk for arguing, and I don't see Alblaka filing lawsuits and trying to take KakerMix to court. This is over and for those of you still attempting to feebly argue it are simply cloning old points until someone finally gives up so you can hopefully acheive a "victory" no one cares about anymore. I notice more and more that it is the same people posting the same things back and forth, in an endless argument that no longer lacks substantial credibility. If I was a judge and this was brought into court, I would fine Kakermix a small amount and have the Technic Pack brought down. I would then go home to my nice little house and chuckle quietly as I see how silly the modding community really can be at times like these.

I agree with Dirk that the gilded lines seem to yellow, but I know texturing can be horribly annoying to find the right colours that you like and that everybody else likes, I have had a go at it a couple of times and simply gave up when trying Obsidian xD A lot of progress as been made since my last visit, and I must say I am impressed. You will build quite a name for yourself with a mod like this, and I think it has the potential to be right up there with the likes of Tales of Kingdoms and Millenaire, or even exceed that and be amongst the "elite" mods like BTW and Futurecraft etc. From what you have done so far, and in such a short amount of time, I think you will find (at least most of) this to be quite easy, albeit fun for the rest of the time you spend working on the mod!
