Actually, looking at what you said DragonSpitter, the creator of Realms of Argoth MAY (although quite unlikely due to how much time he spends on both his mod and his life) be able to shed some light to help with rendering of armour and weapons, although he completely recreated the rendering to allow for smooth, more 3D models (as in less blocky [much less blocky]) so unless they are the plans (which I don't recommend due to the taxing effect on older systems) it may not be so easy as that.

Started building an amphitheatre loosely based on the Arles Amphitheatre last nighjt - unfortunately I feel it may be too big to use as a randomly generate structure (136*109) but still I like building xD I am gonna build around it however so when I am further towards finished I will upload some screenshots/a video of the whole thing :)

If worst comes to worst I suppose we could somehow obtain all of Core's material for this mod (or take his idea and attempt to recreate it) in the event he does not return. It could be possible that he's lost access to a computer ie it's broken, or, like so many other amazing modders, work or school or university has collided with their only free time. I guess we can only hope, although it seems we'll be hoping for a long time! I guess I can just practise my building skills in the event my assistance is needed!

Are there any other mediums through which you can contact Core or is Skype the only communication you had with him?

    A few things --
    1. This mod looks freaking amazing. Please release a test build, even if it's just weapons and armour.
    2. I don't know if OP uses a language besides English as their first language, but I think the main post should have spelling errors corrected. I don't mean to be offensive but sometimes it can be all in the presentation.
    3. I like to build, and I would be open to the idea of building structures for this mod if given direction as to what needs to be built. I would love to help in any way I can.
The team for this mod have obviously put in an astounding amount of effort, I love all the textures for the armour and weapons and I just love the concept and thought that seems to have been put in.

Looking at the gladiator aspect though, will the gladiator arena be a structure that spawns with NPCs to run it that you apply to fight in, or will it be a player built arena, or something that relies on multiplayer?

Also, will there be SMP compatibility for the mod?

Will the specifically-named mobs (ie Alexander the Great, Robin Hood, etc) be enemies that spawn in unique dungeons that suit there culture (as in will there be only one of them per world) that drop their specific armour set, or will it be a random spawn?

Will the different cultures be located in biomes that suit their real life locations ie Plains/Desert for the African civilisation structures?

Will there be biomes added to supply for the needs of different civilisations if the previous question is a yes?

Sorry for all the questions, but a million ideas ran through my head at once and if any of the answers to these are no, I think that they should be considered before being written off.

Good luck with progress, I hope this mod gets far!

    I'm thinking more like

    [-----------o----------------------------------------------------------------------------]

I didn't realise you guys had done so much! There was I time where my naivity had led me to believe you were almost done (what you have completed seems a hell of a lot from my perspective), but then my estimate changed. Seeing this "progress bar" makes me think, wow, it's closer than we realise. Keep powering on! not much longer to go :D

32 whole tons, huh. I guess you're right; there's really no way to move anything that massive in a game like Minecraft.

LOL yay for *not being sarcastic*

Also, if diplomatic ships can't be attacked then wouldn't you be able to create an invincible shield out of them

Rather than build 20 odd diplomat ships just to protect your massive dreadnought on the horizontal axis, don't you think it would be more cost efficient to simply use a normal shield system? :L

I was gone for a while, and now I am back! I return with more knowledge of how the ZPM works, after reading a fictional novel involving secret Nazi technology and Zero Point Energy - I must say, it's all quite interesting.

I know this is a lazy thing to do, but I have been failing to attend for many months - is there any major, absolutely-definitely-must-know-in-order-to-save-humanity pieces of information about the mod and its progress that I have missed, both here and on the main forums?

By the way, Happy Easter for tomorrow, everyone! Hope you all get chocolates, and if you don't celebrate Easter, Happy Average Sunday for tomorrow! ^_^

guys, this is NOT your mod and it's NOT your work,it's not up to you to decide if it's easy or hard, going slow or fast and if it's dead or alive.

Sgt, we are not deciding anything, we are hoping. Also, if it is kind of obvious how difficult something would be to make, it isn't whether we are deciding the ease of it, it is a question of how likely we are to accept the fact and get on with it. No one has said "you guys better post here soon" or "this should be easy get back to work" or "i culd doo tis wit mah eys suht fggts, y u no post". We are inquiring fairly politely as to whether or not the mod is dead, due to the fact it has been a few weeks since the last developer post. The evidence of a dead mod is high, but like I said in my deconstructive post, they don't seem the type to leave us in the dark for weeks as to whether the mod is dead or not.

Let me reiterate, or you can read this if you TL;DR for some strange reason:

Noone has raged, no one has definitively said "this is dead" without a source, no one has been impolite and no one has been putting any direct pressure on the team by saying "finish now". The entire following community of the mod simply wants to know - "Is the mod alive?". It takes a very pretentious or naive person to assume otherwise, no offense intended.

Don't turn this into an argument please, it is just what you said had no reason to be said, and was in no way backed up by any other statements.

So in future craft, How are you going to represent being out of health? Is it going to be "Boom you explode" or is it going to be "Enemy shots now have permission to tear through the hull?" I believe that #2 would be "Better" Since it would make ship design much more important in surviving a space fight. Thicker Armour means it will take longer to expose you to space/for your reactor core to get blown to pieces once your generic health pool is depleted.

From what I gather it is going to be "Shots destroy what part of your ship they hit and until they hit vital parts (ie the engine/core) you can still keep going"

I may or may not have said this in a previous post but Beu did say he and Lancer would both be going on vacations. That was a while ago, so I think they are most likely back. I do know however that if they are from the UK or US they would be back at school right now, and so it is VERY likely they are just extremely busy with that sort of stuff. I doubt the mod has been discontinued, unless Beu just decided never to come onto the forum again, because he hasn't replied to a PM I sent him regarding the lore I have been working on, every now and then. I somehow doubt it would be cancelled without some kind of warning or something :L

He says "screw this forum" in one post, like he is never coming back, and then says "good cause this is the last time i post here" as though everyone is going to miss seeing people posting about his bad grammar. Where is the logic gone? I think I may go check out the development journals on the forum, although, I might be so bold as to ask: Did I miss somewhere on the new website that had something similar to the development journals? I would like to read about where you guys are up to but I don't like how dark the forum is. It makes me feel like turning off all my lights, locking my door and shutting my blinds to stay in and read all the posts, forever.

    2. Any release date?

If you would read about 10-20 posts back you would see the amount of times that the answer to that very same question has been given as no, and not any time soon.

There's a trick I learned for that. It's called "proofreading" and it's a technique whereby you can go back over your previous writing to identify and correct errors before submitting it to public scrutiny. As luck would have it, this feature is supported by default in nearly every word processor. You should definitely look into it!

Or you can do what I do. Spend way too much time typing so you never EVER make mistakes, or learn to touch type so you see every mistake you make... Years of training and getting annoyed at backspacing!
