posted a message on When will Mojang-Microsoft contract expire?
    Quote from Kovu

The problem with releasing it on all platforms is that you have to recode the entire game from scratch.
The contract won't expire for a long time though.

I'm not sure what programming languages consoles are able to interpret and use, but if they use the same language, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be too much of a problem when it comes to recoding the framework of the game.

Also, I wouldn't say having Minecraft on a console is bad, but it isn't very comfortable, since PC games usually give the user more modification capabilities and control.

The ridiculous competitiveness of getting into a good college has forced me to get all A's.

You might want to start worrying about stuff other than your grades if you want to get in a good college.

OT: I always had all A's until I got in high school, which is when I received my very first B. Last year (my junior year), I started getting more focused and got all A's and one B.

I don't understand? Mods add to the game, how do they limit it? But if you don't like them, don't use them? Then how can they spoil your enjoyment of the game?

Sorry, just really confused by that statement! But good luck with your new world!

It's a weird statement, but what I meant by it is that mods made the game too easy, which took away the true experience and reasoning of the game. I've always dreamed of having an amazing world built legitimately with no mods used in the process, and doing hardcore is another step up.

I suppose I should bump the thread so newcomers can see.

I added a few more categories to the media spoiler, as well as another day recap. I would have changed it sooner, but my internet provider had a huge outage, which resulted in the temporary disconnection of my internet. Fortunately, I was able to play my world due to the offline mode (thanks Mojang), which turned out to be a few decent hours of exploring.

It'll be a battle to keep the villagers alive - that I think is agood short term goal for you.

That's certainly something I'll try in the near future, thanks for the idea! I plan to start searching for a spot to settle down at, and hopefully start building a "fortress".

^ This. It takes money to make money. I funded my server for several months before I had enough players to start receiving donations for rank perks. Be prepared to spend money if this is what you want because no one is going to give it to you.

Everything she says is completely true. To be successful, you will need to sacrifice some things, such as your time and own benefit. If you are looking to do this for a financial cause, you should really just get a job.

Yes, sorry if the thread wasn't quite clear enough, although I'm positive it should have been.

Seems nice. Following, this may have potential just like Samiboula's world!

    Thank you for the support!

Also, I'm going to be starting a video series as soon as I get a microphone.

posted a message on Welcome to Hell!

Minecraft has always been a favorite game of mine, and there is so much you can do to meet your imagination's wildest desires. I haven't enjoyed it as much as I did when I first started, mainly due to mods, which make the game seem limited, or at least I think so. With that being said, I have decided to start my biggest Minecraft project to date, Welcome to Hell!, which will include nothing but hardcore survival. As far as I'm concerned, this will most likely be a solo project, but that is subject to change if future events decide otherwise. This thread, along with text-based word pads, will be used to document some of my experiences in the process of exploring and (hopefully) surviving in the vast world of Minecraft.

    ___________________________________________________________________________________________

Before you read any further, you should check out some of the key details of this project, which can be found below.
    • Difficulty: Hardcore; this is the hardest mode to date in Minecraft. There are no lives, once you die, your world is deleted.
    • Documentation: As I mentioned above, I will use this thread to document my experiences in this project, as well as an inspiration boost. Things that will be documented are pictures, tactics, and other general information based upon my sole experience of the game.
    • Goals: There are so many options in Minecraft, so posting all of my goals may seem virtually impossible to list, therefore, I will discuss large goals, or mini-projects, and possibly other factors that I feel contribute greatly towards the project as a whole.

    Day 1:

Today was the birth of my project, Welcome to Hell, and it turned out to be great. I found temporary shelter, which was above a huge cave. Unfortunately, I got lost (silly me) after coming up to harvest my crops and collect food from other sources. After getting lost, I gave up trying to find the temporary shelter, which led to me wandering off into the vast world, and eventually, coming across two wolves which I tamed. It seemed as if these two would be the only companions I have, or at least I thought; I came across what seemed to be a house, which could only be one thing right? An NPC village! I decided to stop and rest in one of the houses, which was also a stopping spot for the first day of my hardcore world. Everything turned out just fine.

    Day 2:

The main part of today was exploring, which I did in order to find a spot to settle down at and begin building my base. I came across another NPC village, as well as a desert fortress, in which, fortunately, I recovered several bones and two diamonds, plus an enchanted book. After another hour of exploring, I found what I believe to be the perfect spot for a base; a huge, flat mountain.

I'm extremely sorry if the thread may seem bare at the moment, but it is due to the recent creation of this project. If you have any suggestions for this project, such as thread recommendations, mini-projects, or other things, please post below.

Any support is greatly appreciated, so if you like the idea and direction of this thread, please follow it so that you can keep up with progress. Also, please vote this post up to show your support.

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
    - Albert Einstein

Just as the quote states, if you do the same thing over and over again, and you expect different results, you will go insane, either with boredom or some other emotional reason. Basically, if are bored of Minecraft, try doing something new. Imagination is everything, especially in a game that allows you to access whatever material you need to quench that imagination.

Ehh Don't Listen To Them I Spent 525$ Last Month And Got A Computer That Runs Diablo 3 Maxed. Minecraft At 120Fps While Recording And Doing Other Things.

I Suggest Spending Atleast 450 Tho Go To - TigerDirect.com And Contact Them They Should Help You Or Add My Skype = xxbutterzz

400-500 Would Be The Best Option But 300 Is Possible

If you purchased your computer from some manufacturer rather than building it yourself, I really believe your story is made up. Even if you did build your own computer, I highly doubt you can play Minecraft 120 FPS while recording, because there is no card out there that will allow you do to so with the budget you posted.

If this person really wants to take the cheapest route, they will want to buy all of the computer parts and build the computer themselves. You could get a decent gaming computer for $600-$700 if you bought all of the parts and built the computer yourself.

    Quote from Laughing_Man16

The grass isn't depressing. What is depressing is the 'pre 1.8' fanboys always crying into their rose flavored nostalgia Kool-Aid and feeling like they have to share this non tragedy with us. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

I agree that people keep comparing things in the current Minecraft version to things in previous versions, and there isn't a problem with that; however, people are asking for things to be reverted, when they were changed for some given reason.

posted a message on how do you feel about the looks of villagers?
I don't like their appearance at all, especially since they look like some kind of prehistoric alien race. I was hoping they would actually be humans, and have more interaction than they currently do.

With your tight spending budget, you probably won't get too much, even if you were to build your own computer. I spent $700 on my computer last year and it was overpriced when it comes to general gaming. If you do ever save your money and get enough to purchase a decent computer, either buy your parts and build it yourself or purchase a gaming one from a gaming computer developer. Do not purchase a computer from a general appliance store.
