It's really annoying seeing people complain about servers that are pay-to-play for reasons other than legal concerns. If you are tired of playing on these types of servers because people that put money into the game have more benefits than you, then you should realize that it is your decision that caused you to be in that situation. You don't have to play these types of servers, so please stop complaining about them.
With that being said, no, I'm not siding with anti-EULA enforcers, but it is equally annoying to see people stating a very obvious fact. When the new EULA takes effect, pay-to-play servers will either shut down or find ways to generate revenue in a method that abides by the EULA. Face it, if you want Minecraft to be completely about fun and no other reason, stick to singleplayer.

Jun 13, 2014Vector posted a message on Mojang Announcement: EULA, and ServersPosted in: NewsQuote from Marcus101RR
The only way this will succeed, is if mojang recodes minecraft with a master-server. This would mean that if your account gets flagged for abusing these rules, they will suspend your ability from hosting a minecraft server on your account. This also means in order to run a server on any machine you need to login to your account.
So basically it will be just like minecraft client.
1. Login, to host server.
2. Check if account is flagged for violations.
3. If not violation, host server.
4. Profit.
ELSE
3. Account flagged for violations.
4. Server disabled for online play, only LAN players can join.
5. YOU LOSE, GOOD DAY SIR.
That is the only way mojang can control servers, which i doubt their team will program. So 100,000 servers will continue to operate and abuse the EULA, which means absolutely crap. I don't see how this will be beneficial to anyone.
Not only do I highly doubt they would ever waste their time programming such a type of server, but I also am really disappointed in reading this type of suggestion. I don't understand why the solution to any problem such as this is usually resulting in everyone becoming the victim. Action should only be taken against those responsible in breaking rules. -

Yea, hopefully the spammers stop spamming soon about their username
I think maybe you should pay a small price for this feature. Like 2 dollars or something.

Jul 23, 2012Vector posted a message on Lawsuit Filed Against Mojang - This Time, For Obscure PatentUniloc isn't dumb for filling lawsuits against people, but they are just getting way to money hungry, which I really don't see how they will pull off all of the cases. The lawsuit itself is ridiculous and pretty much makes it seem as if this world we live in has no theme of innovation whatsoever, which is completely absurd.Posted in: News

Since it's been a few days since this post has received any recongition, I figured I would bump it personally. Also, our current team has decided to go with Discord as the official communication hub for everyone, so if you would like an invite to the Discord server, simply ask.
Also, the server is up and running as we speak. I am waiting to have a few discussions with the team before we start doing a lot on the game server, but in the meantime, feel free to log in and play. Seeing as how this is located in the server recruitment thread, I will only be provided the server IP on the Discord channel, so if you would like access just provide me with your Discord username via reply or private message.
On a last note, we onlyneed a few more members on the team for the meantime, so good luck to all future applicants! Thank you!

Hello Eddy0603, I'm interested in hearing more of your ideas, as I too enjoy the fact that Minecraft allows people to do whatever they want. I was involved in the Minecraft scene mostly during the early years following its release, and it seems that a lot has changed with the game, so speaking to someone that has a standing knowledge of where the game is currently at right now is great! Thank you again for posting. I will send you a private message on here regarding further contact.

Hello everyone! I'm posting here today in order to see if anyone shares the same vision I have when it imagine a Minecraft survival server. The basic idea is to create a server which implies survival against many different odds, such as the environment and even other players. A server that is driven by the people. Now, it is important to know that I have not yet given a name to this project, although it has been considered a great deal, I would like to hear all ideas from the team once it has been assembled. I have a lot of experience with Minecraft servers, so I am faithful that although there may be obstacles along the way, there is always a solution. With that being said, if you are interested in joining the team please post a reply to the thread with the following information included:
It is vital that you provide with me any information that would help me understand why you would be a valuable asset to the team. I understand everyone has their own talent and can enjoy different things, but all I ask from anyone is that they keep an open mind. I am not looking for anyone in specific, so just be yourself and nothing different.
The designated application that will be used for communication is Discord. I will send you the information to connect once I have reviewed your response to the thread.
Thank you, I look forward to responding to everyone!

I apologize for the inconvenience, but some personal issues have come up so I will be shutting the server down until further notice.

I do apologize for your inconvenience. In regard to you being a constant victim of griefing, I would like to make sure you understand how our system works. We log any type of block change in the game; this includes block placing/destruction, any type of container transaction (chests/furnaces/etc), along with the player(s) that were involved in the interaction. I would also like to add that we have Lockette, which should protect your chests from being stolen from. In order for us to handle any incidents related to griefing, I need to be notified in a formal manner. Yes, we do have an anti-grief measure put into place, but it has to be handled manually, and I am currently the only one with the power to do so. As a guide to you, and any future victims, please send me a private message with the following information:
Once I find more staff members, it will be easier to request this service, but until then please be patient. Also, I would highly suggest that if you are close to the spawn that you consider moving out further. I cannot prevent initial reasoning behind griefing. I can only punish those responsible and fix any damage caused.

Thanks for notifying me! I believe I have fixed this issue, but if not let me know!

Due to the high amount of stealing lately, I have added the Lockette plugin to help protect players. While we have the tools to restore any items stolen from a player, we expect you to take responsibility for you things and protect them accordingly via Lockette. Thanks!

Thank you so much for replying! Also, I would like to announce that we are slowing preparing our new spawn area. A lot of work has been put into it, and we hope to have the fundamentals of it completed by the end of this week.

I hope those 20 players you killed were with consent ^_^.
Also, I have some great news everyone! The server is running smoothly and has been ever since the initial start, so that is awesome. I would also like to point out that we now have an economy plugin as well as a grand exchange, which can be used for convenient and easy buying/selling of items. If you are not familiar with either plugin, check out the links below to do some research:

Feel free to ask any questions, and enjoy the game!
