To implement natural disasters such as tsunamis, Notch will have to implement tectonic plates, wind pressure (invisible, but maybe you can hear), and etc.
But I don't like the idea of my place getting torn apart. Natural disasters don't even happen as often as every 100-200 days -.- So might as well not happen at all
Human mobs that you can pick up as blocks in your inventory, and if you place them down, you can give them commands. You can tell them to follow you, stay in place, or walk about and explore around a radius. If you give them any weapon, you can give them more commands as to whether be aggressive or defensive in fighting mobs. This incorporates a tactical battle system into minecraft against dragons and goblin villages and what not, that involves more characters.
I have suggested human mobs that can be picked up and placed anywhere as if they were blocks, and they will walk around or help defend your turf if you give them weapons.
Hmm.. A warp gate is both extremely useful and doesn't break the laws of physics of our known universe. Why not?
What would be even better is if these warp gates are first randomly generated across your world, found in ruins, and then you can go through them and build more warp gates to make more links.
And to not make minecraft into starcraft...
The portals should be left over by very advanced Alien species as a gateway to RULE MINECRAFT! NEW ALIEN MOBS OMGWTFBBQ!
You can only build these portals after first coming into contact with your first portal, a sudden flash of light zooms across the screen as if the ancient alien knowledge has transferred right into your minds and you suddenly now how to build a portal!
First, you go through the portal and then Justin Bieber gives you a lap dance, while Rosie O'Donelle rubs lotion on your private part, while also having to watch 24 hours of shock videos and the only food served during breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are PINEAPPLE PIZZAS! DUN DUN DUN!
Please point to where I said that solid rocks would get eroded.
You should go through how long it takes for each type of block to erode or will all blocks erode with the same amount required time. Will it erode blocks that the player placed? How much water is needed for erosion to occur? Will there be physical problems as to how and where the water runs?
