You agree with hiring them because people aren't happy with them? Huh? As for the gamemode thing, I think there would have to be more gamemodes added first before they make one just for one mob. Gamemodes currently are different ways to play: surviving, being creative, and risking everything to show how awesome you are, and "surviving with village warriors" isn't broad enough for a whole gamemode.
I never said, "I agree with hiring villager fighters BECAUSE people are not happy with villager fighters". Please read carefully. Grammar lesson: When there is this thing called a period between two constructed sentences, then that means that the latter sentence does not continue from the former.
The 3rd game mode can be RPG, but I never said it needs to be implemented, I only inferred that maybe a new gamemode is a solution. But I do want fighters to be implemented.
I agree with hiring villager fighters. Some people are not happy with villager fighters. Maybe add a new game mode where there are villager fighters, so your castle walls are not actually empty. I have to "man" my castle with my dogs and cats!
Here is my in-depth minecraft mercenary/fighter suggestion. It is very long:
Id Figure I would share my house with you people of minecraft.

I know its small. Its simple so yeah. The mine is in the Storage Area. Its simple to build. It took me only around... Id say 2 1/2 stacks of planks + the sand for glass and the mass amount of Sugarcane I had to grow for the book shelves. Feel free to post suggestions.
Thanks!
I'm with the spear, since the first weapon to be ever made by man would resemble a spear and not a sword. Spears are also easier to make than swords. So it makes sense to have spears. I disagree about using strings to tie a spearhead to a spear. The spear would be made in a diagonal manner instead of vertical manner like a spade.
Anyhow, spears really aren't a good idea.
If they're totally necessary, perhaps it could serve as either a throwing weapon or a melee weapon?
It's not about what is necessary. You could have easily made every house out of cobblestone, but why did you choose to make them out of wood as well? Doesn't that make wood buildings unnecessary? Why still build it? We build it for the aesthetics, for a change, for a difference.
Same with combat styles, though one might resemble another, the pure change in aesthetics and how the weapon handles can be enough to add it.
Tell me, when you go to the store to buy a soft drink, would you rather have a fridge with a variety of flavors and brands or just one flavor and one brand?
It looks awesome! Add some iron golems and it safe
Yea, but sadly I can't control iron golems. If only mercenaries or fighters you can hire were in the game, I would man those walls. For now, I can only "man" those walls with silly dogs and cats.
Just a question, will you end up flattening the land inside the stronghold?
Nope I won't make the floor entirely flat, the inside won't be all the same level. I am building a tower in the middle of the fortress that protrudes through the Hall of Kings, which is the hall on the top most layer of the stronghold. I might decorate the place more after I get more cobblestone.
In the hall of kings, there will be a stairwell behind a throne room, where it will lead up to the top of the tower, the Tower of Augustantine.
I will make a nether portal on top of this tower, just like the portal on top of tower of onyx in PS2 D&D game Dark Alliance 2.
The architectural style of the main building segment that continues from the facade will most likely be gothic.
Really cool. This kinda reminds me of something a seed that I saw where you had to defend a NPC village from mobs at night. You should check it out! The seed is Kronos (or something like that). I didn't kind the seed, so don't credit me.
Thanks for the info, I will try to check it out, still don't know how seeds work.
Here is an update:
This is the top level of the work in progress stronghold:

Augustantine so far:
Ran out of cobblestones again. Also, I gotta start collecting roses for dyes!
When I think about it, no one will actually really make gold or diamond arrows. Maybe iron arrows to some extent. Keep in mind the suggestion I had for for gun bullets in the official gun thread is that all bullets from the gun is retrievable except for wood and stone.
The bow can be enchanted, and is ranged.
An iron, gold, or diamond arrow would not be retrievable when it hits a mob. Not a lot of incentive to make iron, gold, or diamond arrows. I would rather kill a mob in 3 full charges with flint arrow to conserve my materials.
Heck, the current arrow system already uses non-renewable material flint. It is not like there is infinite gravel where I am, much less I would get flint every time I destroy a gravel. I believe flint should be renewable like last minecraft versions, that you can break a single gravel infinite times and get infinite flint, potentially. The rarity of the drop is the same, so flint becomes a renewable resource, but not gravel. I don't know why they even removed this from the game in the first place, what were you thinking notch? An entire block of gravel becomes one flint!?!!
Also about the grenade arrows, it does need a name change, because grenades are a typically modern fashion of explosives. Plus, I would not use eggs as an ingredient, it doesn't make sense, unless you want to make scrambled eggs every time you fire an explosive arrow. The I'd shoot a cow, a pig with egg shots for bacon, egg, and cheese.
great idea! i support it
the part with the maps that drop from marshmush is kinda weird though....
Thanks for the support. I added marshmush mob also to help the player find mushroom biomes. They drop maps toward the direction of the nearest mushroom biome. I will change it to something else less confusing:
They now drop magical spores. You throw them in the air when you use it, just like eyes of ender, but the magical spores will move in the direction of the nearest mushroom biome.

It's just to prove a nice simple post could get more replies than a post that is long but more thought over.
And sure testificates are supposed to be peaceful, but they didn't say testificates are incapable of fighting.

Nice texture pack.

If you categorize the features, more people might actually read it.
And Krakens have already been suggested. So we will have to wait and see.
