Question about the Miner that is not clear in the Demonstration Video. Is it necessary to have a shovel in the miner? Or will the miner work with out the shovel? I would prefer the miner to skip certain things like dirt reducing the amount of things I need to trash or waste storage space on. Gravel would be nice to have, but if it would work with out the shovel I can just go after ore.

Thought, have you considered in the UI an area for us to place materials we would prefer to skip?

Additional thought, Have you considered an ore scanner block? Something with some range that could be used to find certain ores? I ask because of how some mods are looking to change ore gen (Like Gregtech). Greg now has ores in huge clusters, but they are very dispersed, the IC2 scanner is kind of weak only covering a 5x5 or 9x9 area. But it would be nice to know the content and location of an area at times instead of groping around blindly.

Shovel is always required to run, unlikely to add anything that customises what you mine, that would definitely hurt the balance (skip all stone and dirt? no)

I considered a scanner type thing, but it would probably be less powerful than the IC2 version tbh.

sorry for the way late reply MFR can strip the enchantment however will only apply up to unbreaking 3 even useing an unbreaking 10 book Botania however.....requireing like 3 mana pools to do so will still enchant things with it

Ah botania! I didn't consider that, Although I'd almost consider 3 full pools of mana to be an acceptable price.... Considering you can just convert most tools and armour to use mana for durability anyway

TiC fortune should work since it actually just returns vanilla fortune as normal. Auto-smelt... I'll have to check the code on how it does that

I've been told that it does mostly work with magical crops, I have not tested it out myself though.

I've put out a release for Minecraft 1.8

Please report any bugs to the github issue tracker since I'm sure there is going to be a load!

PLEASE NOTE: Since there is currently no "official" RF API for 1.8 this mod contains a modified version of the 1.7 API so it may or may not work with other devices that require RF. I have changed the API version for it so that any other included libraries should take priority over this one.

Your wooden miner will only allow TiC pickaxes that have a mining level of a wooden pickaxe, for the higher level TiC pickaxes you'll need a higher level miner (Diamond will allow any picks)

AS long as they are registered with the ore dictionary as saplings it should work. Might be some version that don't register the saplings?

@rckymtnrfc: Don't worry, a few people have that problem. I might see about putting a message in saying "No fertile ground" or something to help you out.

@Usernm: Fixed in version 1.5.18, out now!

@NightCoder: Fixed in version 1.5.18, out now!

    And for everyone else:

Version 1.5.18 is out now, highly recommended that you update as it fixes two fairly major gameplay breaking bugs. (Diamond upgrades not working and hoppers not working with generators)

New version uploaded. Mainly bug fixes, but you can now charge RF engines in other devices and use it like a battery.

    Changes:

    • Changed the inner workings for upgrades - Torrins
    • Fixed bug with chisel 1
    • Made the RF engines chargeable in other machines
    • Fixed an issue where items would be put into the recipe of the crafter
    • Added German, Polish and Chinese languages

Yeap I think xelrix summed it up pretty well.

As for #1: The total RF output by all the generators is the same no matter what tier you are using, the diamond one just creates it faster. In fact, taking extra utilities as an example, any of the second level generators in that will out preform my diamond level generator by 2. (if memory services it outputs 320rf/t). Also using a potion generator, any 3 ingredient potion will generate 160 rf/t, and a 4 ingredient one will generator twice that.

#2 Machines use tools based on what level they are able to mine, so if a mod tool is able to mine at stone level, then it will go into the stone, iron and diamond machines, but if it can mine greater than diamond level then it will only go into the diamond machines.

    #3 as xelrix said

#4 Again they do, RF engine.

#5 totally with you there, but i'm a coder not an artist. There is two alternative texture packs in the OP though.

    And then xelrix:

Liquid/tank upgrade, Torrins said something like that as well, it might happen, but as it stands the generators can't actually take upgrades at the moment.

Tiers of RF engines; probably not.

Using RF engines as battery; the code is actually mostly there already, probably will do it as I got annoyed when I couldn't do that in a LP.

RF engine in a furnace, i'd love to, that would be awesome. I know how to make it use the energy in already in the engine, but I'm not sure how i'd actually connect it to an external power source.....

Apologies for the late reply, I've been busy. I am using version 1.5.6, which is the latest as of this post.

Weird. I'll have to test it out again.

I noticed a small issue. Machines will not work with more than 1 wither upgrade, but they will still accept more than 1. You do not get the extras back when the machine breaks, either. Perhaps they should not accept another wither upgrade if they already have one?

What version are you using? That issue was fixed I think.

I am new to this mod and the chopper and the planter are working as expected. But the miner is glitching on stone.

I am using this mod on Bevo ATLauncher and that shows me the module version used is 1.5.6. For me the miner (Iron Miner and using Iron pickaxe and shovel) stops as soon as it encounters a STONE block. I do have the chisel mod active (and I have not found an easy way to disable it yet from the package). The Java code seems to indicate the chisel is tried even if the pickaxe is installed.

Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

That's very strange. I'm currently playing with BTP using this and the miner was working fine for me. And yeah 1.5.6 fixed the issue with chisel taking over the default tool of stone. I'll try it again and make sure....

Love the mod a lot, very excellent balance and progression with it.

The addition of the crafter is great! I have a question, though: is it supposed to be consuming reusable ingredients (such as when cooking Pam's foods, like the Mixing Bowls etc) or not giving back stuff like empty Buckets when you use one with Milk/Water?

oh... no it definitely should be giving those back. I'll have a look into it.

@GrzechuGrek, the chunkloading idea is nice.
Killer machine is in the works already!

Yes! The machines should have no trouble with extra TIC and metallurgy, however some of the later metals will only be able to be used in the diamond machines.

Depends on what version you're using, I THINK it's possible to extract from there on the sides with some sort of pipe in version 1.5+ but I'm not 100% sure. Before that definitely not.
