Seems like a mixed bag. Most of the texture changes are pretty nice but some of them look worse than their originals, like netherrack which looks too blurry, prismarine bricks which don't have as much detail and glowstone, which is honestly kind've an eyesore.

Absolutely stupid reasoning from Mojang here. Basically everything they said about sharks could be easily applied to wolves and it wouldn't make any more or less sense.
I feel like Mojang just doesn't want to go through the trouble to add a shark mob into the game even though it's one of the most highly requested mobs. It's especially insulting since the next update is going to focus on fleshing out the ocean...and they don't want to add what's basically one of the coolest oceanic animals and what could serve as an actual threat in the ocean outside of a naturally generated structure???

I'm not that knowledgeable on Villager mechanics, but does killing a Golem affect your Villagers Score? and does that score affect Golem spawn behaviours? Because that could mean you killed a golom too close to your Village, which made the Villagers angry and refuse to spawn in another golem until you bring that score back up.
Killing a golem negatively affects the village rating but it doesn't affect golem spawns. If your village rating gets low enough, existing golems will become automatically hostile to you but their spawn conditions won't change at all. So no, lowering the village rating by any means won't alter the way golem farms work.

I was bored in the End so I looked at an enderman to get him to chase me. I looked around a bit while I was running away from him, causing a horde of them to run after me. They eventually chased me to the edge of the island and pushed me off. I still had my valuables in my inventory at the time.

When someone disses on an update without trying to be optimistic about it. Especially if they dis on the whole update just because of one feature they don't like. (E.G. The 1.9 update was the worst! The combat was terrible, and for that I'm just going to say the End Additions and Elytra were bad too!)
Now, that doesn't mean that there are additions to the game that are actually terrible, like 1.8 using up extra RAM, which doesn't benefit anybody. But when you go out of your way to say that something is hated by all and has no good things, like Glazed Terracotta, 1.9 Combat or Hunger, expect me to fight you. (Believe it or not, I'm not super good at 1.9 Combat either, but I support it because it has the advantage of making players use more strategy in making combat easier or avoiding combat at all.)
This one gets my blood boiling. A worse alternative to this is when someone dislikes an update because it didn't add a feature that they wanted, so they just hate on the cool new features that were added instead as some form of knee-jerk reaction. Bonus points if they generalise the whole update or describe it in a fashion that makes it seem lame to justify their biased opinion. I see it all too often when a new update comes out.

It seems that your options are narrowed down to these:
-Get a gullible member of the faction to TPA you inside the base so you can kill them and loot the base
-Build your faction power (if the server you're on has that system) and claim over the base so you can do whatever you want
It doesn't seem like there's any way to destroy it without gaining control over the land or abusing glitches, so that's all I have. I may be able to find something else out if you'd post a screenshot of the base.

Too bad that this is the optimal way to set up your base in most multiplayer servers to avoid being griefed.

-People who spam server forums complaining about being banned instead of filling out an appeal
-Teaming in non-team based minigames
-People who claim over and raid already claimed property on towny servers.
-Ugly, nonsensical builds and exploded terrain just outside the spawn point on faction servers
-People who intentionally make their plots on creative servers as ugly and cluttered as possible... and are right next to your plot, making it look worse
-People who build lag machines. Period.
-Non-spambots who are weasley enough to advertise their own server on others

I think he's talking about the animation that plays when a Totem of Undying revives you. He's saying that the animation should be replaced with a health bar indication.

I hate rotten flesh. I know that it can be used as emergency food for when there's nothing else to eat, but I just hate the idea of getting a 20 second debuff that causes my food meter to drop 4x faster than normal whenever I move at all, almost making it pointless to eat at all.
I'm also pretty bothered by gravel. It just gets in the way while you're mining, and it's only really useful for making paths.

They never promised that. It took Mojang over a year to develop 1.9. It was due to this update that 2015 was the first year in which we didn't get a major Minecraft update. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't throw all of that time and effort away just to revert back to the previous PvP system because parts of the community haven't grown accustomed to it yet.

The only times I'll immediately quit and delete a new world is if I spawn in an annoying biome, like a jungle or an ice plains (especially ice plains, since those tend to be huge and take a while to escape from). If it's something typical like a plains, forest or savanna, I'll just explore for a bit before I find a site that looks good to settle in.

Factions has been my favorite type of server for a long time, creative at a close second. The problem with factions is that they were only really good during 1.5 and earlier. They all seemed to go downhill MAJORLY after 1.6, and that saddens me. If I found a really good one that was able to capture what was so fun about the 1.5 servers that are now dead, I'd play it to near death.
