I play on a survival pvp server and I was wonder which sword is better: Sharpness V Diamond or Fire aspect II Unbreaking III Diamond
I can't combine them because it's too expensive so I need to use one or the other.

Jul 10, 2014Posted in: Survival ModeQuote from JSPRINGYSince we are all pretty convinced it was a baby zombie, here is the solution: Put fences in front of the villagers, not standard blocks. I use two layers of fencing to protect the villagers, but still allow me to interact with them.
That's a good idea thanks for the suggestion

Villagers don't despawn. Ever. They can wander off and get lost, trapped in a cave, stuck in a hole, glitch into the wall and suffocate, or be eaten by zombies, but they do, not, despawn. I'd say the most likely answer to OP's situation is that a baby zombie somehow got in there, and killed them all. Baby zombies can fit through a 1x1 hole, so if one did manage to get in there, they'd all be sitting ducks.
Also, I've never heard of a "can walk 20 blocks in all direction" rule. In fact, I'm not even sure what you mean by that...are you perhaps referring to how hostile mobs will despawn randomly after they've been more than 32 blocks from the nearest player for at least 30 seconds? That doesn't apply to villagers, or passive mobs in general. Only hostiles, bats, squids, and ocelots (none of which are technically "passive" mobs in the game code) despawn.
Yeah baby zombie is probably the explanation. I don't know how he got in there but yeah that's probably it. Thanks for the help!
Jul 8, 2014Posted in: Survival ModeQuote from BanaynayTruckPerhaps someone did do a /killall? It could also be a glitch, too. Servers can be pretty glitchy sometimes. How long did you stay 200+ blocks away from them for?
Usually a while just when I go adventuring out. It definately wasn't a killall because I own the server and I never did that.
Jul 8, 2014Posted in: Survival ModeQuote from MatheleteMaybe an admin was in vanish mode and used the killall command (admins forget that killall doesn't just kill hostile mobs, it also kills every mob across the map)
It's my server.
Jul 8, 2014Posted in: Survival ModeQuote from BanaynayTruckThey could've despawned if the villager's don't go with the "can walk 20 blocks in all direction" rule. I'm not sure if they do or don't, so I guess I'll do some research about that Also, spiders could've gotten them.
I've gone much further away from them before and they stayed I wasn't too far away either when they went missing. Also I think spiders need two wide gaps right?
Jul 8, 2014So I was playing on my server and in my house on the server I trapped Villagers using the method of trapping and curing zombie villagers. I had the villagers encased in the wall (if you can picture them in the image below) and when I was at my farm, which is very close to my house, I came back and all the villagers had disappeared.Posted in: Survival Mode
I am really confused as to why they all went missing. I tested it and if any zombies try to hit them through the holes in the wall they can't. It is lit up enough so nothing can spawn down the hallway and the door was closed. I searched the forums but nothing really fit my situation. If anyone knows why this happened or if this has happened to anyone else, please let me know.
