I hate to be so mainstream, but to have Beta 1.7.3 (and earlier) generation added back into the game. That randomness was the real spirit of the game, these modern flatlands have taken out a large portion of the game's fun.
No, just learn to sneak, or use blocks that cover up your name slightly. If you carelessly walk around, it's your own fault you got raided. This also makes it nearly impossible to protect against griefers if you aren't in creative.
Wow, I've seen so much in my time, but the ability to reset your spawn point (1.3 update), biomes, wolves, and EVERYTHING in 1.8 and 1.9 are my favorites. Oh, and of course the halloween update, with the Nether. Mostly, I'm just waiting for apple trees right now.
