Sol, I think Notch said he's not going to add support for higher-resolution textures in the October 30th update, so that may be what he's thinking of.

Oh, well this may very well be the case. In fact, I'd be surprised if Notch DID add higher res texture support before beta. It's not exactly high on the priority list, however it is on the list to be looked into at some point. Until such time, I will be one of a few users attempting to locate and fix the bytebuffer in each patch release in order to maintain the higher res texture packs in working order.

    ~Sol

And I thank you for that, because I really enjoy the higher-res textures.

Hematite (the most common rock where you find iron) is often reddish.

I do like how your gravel has recognizable stones -- most gravel textures seem to be mostly rock/sand/dirt colored noise. JohnSmith's texture pack has a nice stony-looking gravel. It's maybe too colorful, leaning more toward dirt with rocks in it than gravel.

For now, just get one of the other texture packs with the water, open both up in paint, and just past the water from one into this texture board and you'll have your water back.

Yeah, I did that (using GIMP, actually), but thought he'd want some feedback about it.

Disloyalheretic, I think it's just you. Transparency worked fine for me.

It might be nice to add some custom water and lava -- I had that activated in the HD texture patch and with your textures I just got pink squares for water :-).

I really like your cobblestone and your gravel. I wonder if you'd want to consider adding a tiny bit of color -- brown maybe? -- to the gravel. It sorta looks like a black-n-white photo of gravel.

The chests are beautiful. I like the doors too. The wood does flow pretty well. The dark color is a nice alternative to all the light-colored wood in other texture packs.

I like the dirt and grass and stone individually, and close up everything looks great, but the overall effect of your texture pack seems kind of busy when you look at a big landscape or cavern. Every texture has a lot of detail. I wonder if you might like to experiment with something a little smoother for the grass and/or the stone?

I really like the obsidian texture. The adamantine and diamond blocks look cool, but I didn't get a chance to see them in-game. I like the needles on your cactus.

The ores look good too, although the iron doesn't stand out from the stone very much -- it would be easy to miss when mining. Maybe you'd want to add a touch of color? (Desaturated orange maybe?)

Overall, nice work - especially for a first time texture pack! Thanks again for sharing.

This looks fantastic. I can't wait to give it a try. I love the various stone / gravel / brick textures and the ornate chests and wooden door. That monster spawner looks creepy. Curious to see how those big dark wood panels look in large numbers.

    Thanks for sharing this!

Just wanted to say that the obsidian texture in particular looks fantastic. Unlike most HD textures, it even looks great downsampled to 32x32.

(I played around with this pack and enjoy it, but I mostly play with my own mix of 32x32 textures for performance reasons.)

I also really like your workbench, the bamboo, the furnace, the tree trunks, and the way your different rock/cobblestone/half-block textures work together.

Thank you very much for working on this pack and sharing it.

Even though I added it to the game myself, this made me jump when I saw it peering into my mineshaft.

Just wanted to say that the sand texture in this pack is fantastic. One of the best looking textures in any texture pack I've seen for minecraft.

And unlike most HD textures, it even looks great if you downsample it to 32x32.

Also, I love your ore textures. They just look so rich and exciting -- as discovering ore should be!

Thanks, ExtraNoise. I'm putting together my own personal 32x32 texture mix and I particularly like the way your various kinds of stone things all work together. Also your door, ladder and chests.

I like these textures. The different kinds of stone work together well. The grass and trees have a nice, stylized look. I like your designs on the chests, workbenches and doors. I like the bold ores -- ores should be bold and celebratory.

    Thanks for sharing this, Axebane!
