One does not simply , name a town "Mordor".

Same thing happens with other games like Fallout: New Vegas and Skyrim. Those games are fantastic but the vanilla version of the game gets boring after a while. Just download some mods that will add plenty of new stuff, download Adventure maps and complete them using Adventure mode. Eventually, you will get bored of Minecraft in it's entirety and the only thing I can tell you is to stop playing. If you feel like you're forcing yourself to play, then that's the time you need to quit Minecraft for a while.

For me, Mining and farming was what made me hate Minecraft for a solid 3 1/2 months. That's when I decided it was time to increase my building skills and explore more then usual.

Not sure if this was already made but whatever, here's mine.

Open this spoiler to see my current house w/ farms and such. It's not much but it's pretty decent.

Now here are some things to clarify before you suggest me things to build. I intend to finish the enchanting table area and *MAYBE* tame the horses that lives in the plains near my house. I also do not intend to build anything major in the Nether because my FPS goes down due to all of the Lava and I have a huge fear of losing major materials, plus I'm sure I will be lost in the Nether no matter what. I may venture with only a pickaxe someday but that'd be just to explore a bit and not try to gain some materials like Blaze Rods or Nether Warts.

So please suggest things to build that may make my world a little bit spicier. I also am a casual gamer and a "decent" builder so please don't suggest something like a windmill or a 200ft long wheat farm because I won't slave over it or even think about it for that matter. That includes those crazy Gold Nugget farm that there is on YouTube.

It's a bit boring to eat a cake. I prefer to hear crunches when I munch on a piece of cookie.
It makes me feel better about myself, please don't judge me.

I usually prefer to try and offer constructive criticism instead of trying to boost my ego.

Witches are people who practices nature religions. So it makes a lot of sense that they are located only in the swamp instead of in a village. An alchemist on the other hand would be a perfect addition to the villagers family.

Well, I'm certainly not Alexandre Potter so I would probably throw this letter in the trash the minute I finish reading it.

Well, this was a complete waste of time.

People want to have a job that involves playing video games and the first thing that comes to their mind is "UTOOB".

Once the mod is properly installed, there are a few things you can do to ensure maximum performance.

-Run the game in a smaller resolution in full-screen
-Lower your render distance
-When OptiFine is installed, try toggling "Options > Video Settings > Performance > Smooth FPS:". "ON" gives more responsive input and more steady fps, but likely lower maximum FPS.

The "Craftory" mods are a collection of mods inspired by the popular RPGs: Rune Factory & Harvest Moon. Each of these mods can be installed individually, or used together as one for a unique Minecraft experience.

Crops and Farming


FarmCraftory adds 13 new seeds and crops into Minecraft. Some crops are single-harvest and yield only one fruit or vegetable after being destroyed. Other crops are multi-harvest and yield two fruits or vegetables after being destroyed. Seeds can be found in tall grass in any biome.

These seeds can only be found in tallgrass by crafting new tool called a Sickle and using it to cut down tall grass. Sickles can be made from Wood, Stone, Iron, Diamond, or Gold. Each type of sickle has the same drop rate, but higher grade sickles have more durability.

Another farming tool in your new arsenal is a magnifying glass. This item is used to inspect crops to get details about that specific crop. Details shown are:

• Name of the crop
• Current growth stage
• Crop Yield amount
• Seed Yield amount
• Fertilized or unfertilized

Cooking


FarmCraftory now uses a simplified cooking system. No more having to remember recipes and no more having to wait to cook. How simple is it to use? Really simple. If you hover over the name of the recipe on the right, you'll get a list of ingredients on the left side.

First craft a Kitchen Blender, place it down, and right click to open up the menu.

If you only have some of the ingredients, the items you have will have their name in white while the missing items name will remain grayed out.

If you have the all of the ingredients in your inventory, the recipe name will turn white (yellow when hovering) and become clickable.

If you click the name of the recipe, the items in your inventory will be removed and you'll be given the output in return.

Fishcraftory adds several fish mobs that can be caught using a new type of fishing rod.

To make this new fishing rod, you'll need to make a lure.

Attach this lure to a vanilla fishing rod.

Casting and reeling with this new rod is quite different than a regular rod. To cast, hold the rod and press your right mouse button. To reel, press your left mouse button. Reeling pulls in the lure/bobber towards you until it resets back onto your rod. Reeling while the lure is still in the air is faster than in the water or with a fish on the hook. Time your casts correctly and you'll be sure to hit your mark.

To catch a fish mob, cast out your line and try to make it land near a fish. A fish will notice any nearby lure, but will not immediately be attracted to it (unless your a lucky). To raise the attraction of the fish, gently reel the lure in (this consists of lightly tapping/pressing the left mouse button.) If you reel in too quickly (hold the left mouse button too long), the fish's attraction will go back down. If too much time passes, the fish will ignore the lure, and just swim away. Fish do remember if a lure has been nearby recently so keep casting and you'll eventually get the fish's attention.

If you time your reeling right, the fish will now be attracted. This sets up for the next phase: hooking. Once a fish is attracted, it will follow the lure. Continue gently reeling to raise your chance at hooking the fish. Again, if too much time passes, the fish will stop being attracted and will swim away. If you are lucky, the fish will attach to the lure. Reel the fish close enough to you to finally catch it.

You now have your own fish. Like wolves, ocelots, and horses, fish will remember it's owner and will not despawn. Unlike those other tameable mobs, fish won't follow you. You may place your fish in your own pool or pond and pick it back up with a fish net.

You can also turn your fish into raw fish meat and cook it into a furnace.

You can also breed caught fish with fish flakes. To make fish flakes, combine cooked fish meat and wheat.

Lastly, you can place your fish into item frames and show off your collection.




FruitCraftory adds six fruit trees that start out as small saplings and eventually grow into trees with regrowable fruit on them. The six fruit tree types are as follows:

• Orange
• Grape
• Pear
• Peach
• Banana
• Cherry

To find these saplings, use bonemeal on grass blocks. There is a random chance one of these saplings will appear on the grass. After a set amount of time, the fruit sapling will grow into a fruit tree with un-ripe (green) fruit on it. These un-ripe fruit will then ripen over time (turn into the proper color of the fruit) and can now be harvested/broken off the tree. Each tree will be able regrow its fruit as long as no part of it destroyed in any way. New fruit always start out as un-ripe and will not drop the fruit item if harvested early.

FoodCraftory lowers or adjusts the healing amount of every vanilla food item to compensate for the additional food added by the other Craftory Mods. For example, a cooked steak heals 8 food hunger points in vanilla Minecraft. FoodCraftory changes cooked steak to only heal 5 food hunger points, giving you a better incentive to harvest crops, fruit, ect. Configuration is also added to the vanilla food items, so you can set steak, carrots, apples, ect, to heal hunger, saturation, or health to whatever amount you like with the config file. If you are planning to make your own adjustments or need to look up vanilla values for food, a good resource to use is found on the Minecraft wiki: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Food




GuiCraftory adds food descriptions to every food. Hovering over any edible item will now display the effects the item will give/heal when you consume it. For example, the amount of hunger a food item heals will be displayed under the name.

Items that have extra potion effects (positive and negative) will also be displayed along with the probability of causing the effect.

WateringCraftory optionally adds a more challenging route to growing crops by keeping farmland watered manually by using another tool called a watercan. To fill the watering can, use the empty version of the item on a water source block. To use the watering can, use a filled can directly on the dry farmland or on the crop on top (it will water the farmland beneath it). After a set amount of uses, the watercan will become empty and will need refilling. There are five types of watercans available: Wood, Stone, Iron, Gold, and Diamond. Each will water a specific range of farmland with just one click.

In junction to the watering can item, there is also a slight change to fundamental mechanics of farming. Every Minecraft morning will begin with a "drying" period which lasts an hour (0 to 1000 Minecraft Time). Any watered farmland that is not near a water source block will change from wet to dry during this period. Use the watercan to water the dry farmland. If the farmland is dry by nightfall (12000 Minecraft Time), it will revert back to dirt.

If using this new mechanic, your crops will need to be watered on a daily basis for them to grow and produce healthy and mature fruit and vegetables. If you forget to water, your crops will eventually turn brown and wilted, and they will stop growing. To cure the wilted status, just water the crop and it will return to its healthy state. If you break a wilted plant, it will give you a withered grass item. This withered grass item is similar to bonemeal as it can be used directly on crops to fertilize them. Fertilized crops grow twice as fast than unfertilized crops. TIP: You may want to purposely allow some of your crops to wilt so you can get withered grass to use on your healthy crops.

Getting an unexplainable crash or bug? Here's a couple of things you can do.
Check your installation method.

• Did you delete META-INF?
• Do you have the correct version of Forge? (Check the REQUIREMENTS section)
• Is Forge installed properly? (Files go into /mods/ folder)
• Try deleting any pre-existing "****Craftory.cfg" files (See Configuration)
• Forge has Modloader pre-installed now. If you had Modloader installed before you installed Forge, there will be a conflict. Start with a fresh minecraft.jar and only install Forge.

You can change block IDs, item IDs, food healing values, and ect with the configuration files. To find the config files, go to your .minecraft/config/ folder. (You must run Minecraft with the mods at least once for the confg files to appear!).

Turn On/Off: Press the "o" key while in the inventory screen. You can change this key by editing the configuration file.

Add items: Left-click on items in the right sidebar to add full stacks, or right-click to add one at a time.

Configuration file: Find the directory in which your minecraft saves folder and options.txt are, and once you have used TMI at least once you will also find TooManyItems.txt there. This contains options that you can change, not all of which are documented yet.

Spawners: In some previous versions, to create different kinds of spawners, edit the "spawner" line in the configuration file. Use at your own risk; in some (older) versions of Minecraft, spawners of non-mob entities such as boats can crash the game and wreck your save.

Unlimited stacks/tools (single-player only): Shift-left-click on items in the right sidebar to add unlimited stacks OR unlimited-use tools or flint and steel. ModLoader is required for "true" unlimited stacks. Without ModLoader the quantity of >64 stacks will refresh when you open your inventory.

Tabs: Use the chest, star, and book icons to change between the item, favorites, and enchant tabs.

Favorites: This allows you to save commonly used items. ADD to the favorites panel by: (1) clicking an item on the favorites panel, (2) alt-clicking an item in the items panel, or (3) clicking the Favorite button in the enchant panel. REMOVE an item from the favorites panel by alt-clicking it.

Enchanting: (in SP, or may work on some Bukkit servers) Click an item on the enchanting panel to switch to that type of item. Use the + and - buttons to change the levels of individual enchantments. Click the Create button to make the enchanted item once, or the Favorite button to add it to the favorites panel.

Trash (single-player only): Drop an item stack on the item sidebar or the trash icon to delete it. Click the trash icon to turn "delete mode" on and off (in "delete mode" you will delete any item you click on -- useful for selectively deleting a lot of items). Shift-click thee trash icon to wipe out your inventory.

Game mode: Click the "S", "C", and "A" icons on the toolbar for survival, creative, and adventure mode, respectively.

Time: Click the sun and moon icons to set the time to sunrise, noon, sunset, or midnight.

Difficulty: Click the creeper icon to toggle the difficulty without having to go into game preferences.

Health/hunger: Click the heart icon to set health and hunger to max.

Save states (single-player only): Several slots are available for you to save your entire inventory and restore it later. (The "x" button next to a saved state will remove it.) This can be used to save your "real" inventory before editing, save a blank inventory to clear out everything you're holding, save a full inventory of materials, share inventories between characters, etc.

Multiplayer: You need to be a server op. Also, every non-vanilla server works a little differently. The command issued to the server to give you items is configured in TooManyItems.txt as "give-command". In this command, you should put {0} for the player's username, {1} for the item ID, {2} for the quantity, and {3} for the damage value. If {3} isn't in the command, items with damage values other than 0 won't show up.

Vanilla server command: /give {0} {1} {2} {3}

* Since the vanilla server used to not support item damage with the give command, TMI may still have /give {0} {1} {2} by default. You can now add {3} to the end. The default will be updated in a future TMI version.

Bukkit with the Essentials mod command: /item {1}:{3} {2}

Fast crafting: Right-click on the output square when crafting to craft the maximum possible amount. (Works while the inventory overlay is disabled).

Troubleshooting

Crashes show an error report on a purple and white screen, and you can copy and paste the report into a post. With the latest version of TMI, most errors that would have crashed should instead show a chat message that says a report has been saved to a file in your minecraft folder, and you can copy and paste from that file into a post.

Black screens are caused primarily by: not deleting META-INF from your minecraft.jar, mod conflicts, wrong versions of mods, and improperly installing mods. Please check these things and, if necessary, start fresh from a new minecraft.jar as an old installation problem may still be causing errors.

"TMI doesn't show up": Press the "o" key in your inventory screen to turn TMI on and off. (Unless you have already changed this in your config file.) Your preference about whether TMI should be displayed is separate in single- and multi-player. If this still doesn't work, you probably did not install TMI correctly.

Notes: TMI's code does not run until you open your inventory. Problems creating games are something else. TMI does not change any crafting recipes. You are not forced to use fast crafting: just left click like normal instead of right clicking. Yes, TMI does work in multiplayer, but read the instructions. No, it is not a server mod. Finally, the number of pages of items depends on your Minecraft window size, so, you are not missing items because it doesn't have the same pages as in the screenshot.

Uninstalling: If you manually installed a mod, the only way to uninstall is to either restore your backup copy of minecraft.jar (you did make a backup, right?) or delete minecraft.jar and run the game launcher so it downloads a new minecraft.jar. If you used a mod manager, refer to its instructions.

[NOTE]Colored light and glass is something I believe all minecrafters should be able to enjoy with each other without the midleman or knowledge of mod installing. So for that reason, this suggestion is directed towards vanilla. We do however welcome mods here since it's said that "Colored light isn't possible." -_^

Colored Glass and Colored Light are features I have wanted to see in Minecraft for some time. I wanted to see these features implemented so bad that I have come up with some ways it could be used in the game; it would greatly increase building potential and the ability for a player to customize an atmosphere by modifying the color of light. Based on my knowledge working in the game industry as an indiegame digital artist, I know that the impact something like colored glass and light would have on minecraft would be more important than most people know. In fact, it may even be safe to say that even Mojang underestimates the aesthetic importance of colored light and being able to manipulate it.
