The beta has capes. Though I am not sure how to use them, as they are "gifts" from Mojang.

Unofficially, capes can be worn by any player through a variety of methods.

There are mods that allow custom capes that people who have the mod can see, and there are other options I don't endorse due to legality conflicts

posted a message on What would mod API bring us?
It would potentially restrict modding. The nice thing about the current system is the openness of it. If, for example, your profile showed zombe mod, then you could be instabanned for having an "Xray" without ever using it. It is also unnecessary. With a mod api, people need to aprove mods and change several aspects of popular mods. This would be hugem no doubt, but i think there are more pressing matters.

One, we were promised high res texture pack support.(I need this NOW)

Two, we were told biome changes were finished...Jungles.

    Three, redstone bugs.

Four, what happened to the zipline mod that they were going to implement?"

    Five, Villager AI(soon I know)

Six, More survival support. Not only is survival a little underdeveloped, but the strongholds, villages, and mineshafts do not generate right.

Seven, More creative support. I play on a big creative server, and the issue is the block number. We need more blocks. I have talked to some top modders and found that it would have been simple to code a different method allowing all block types to be stairs and half slabs, not the limited palette we have now.

And Eight, The beginners guide to minecraft. Every game has a start up tutorial, yet the most popular game for PC doesnt. It seems a little inconsistent, and a little lazy of Mojang to blow it off and post links to different youtubers guides' to minecraft.

tl;dr. But I hope you see the real issues

A few ideas. A) why dont you use a down facing piston to push it down, rather than pull it down? cuts costs and might be smmaller.

    Also just time it

    Gonna try this

Ah, so a use that may indeed actually be useful! I apologize for sounding so crass during my initial reply. The people that ask me for part pickers generally are the ones who only intend to use it for the purpose of quickly mashing together skin parts to upload and claim they made it, and I jumped to that conclusion. I hope you can forgive me. :smile.gif:

Basically, here's the way I look at it: I moderate a site which gets a hundred or so skin reports a day from people who are using programs like NovaSkin or SkinCraft, clicking a few parts and then uploading it claiming they made it. It happens a lot more often than any of us really want to believe. Personally, I believe that the implementing this feature will only cause this program to be put in the same category as these ones, essentially being tools skinners can use along with a library of "parts" to mix and match skins, facilitating stealing. Heck, the sample skins in MCSkin3D have already been uploaded to many sites; some that are way out of our control, and luckily some that actually listen to copyright (such as PlanetMinecraft) and remove the skins which are obviously copyrighted to our artist and used without permission (unedited; the license for the skins allow them to be used freely once they have been edited beyond a certain point).

While the program may never (I say may because one planned feature is plugin support, and developing a plugin for a part picker wouldn't be difficult) exactly have an official "part picker", version 1.4 has a Copy/Paste tool planned. This is probably the closest you'll get to something like a part picker, at least for the time being.

I appreciate the criticism, and it does not go unnoticed; we're careful to weigh both positives and negatives to features we skim by.

If you have any other concerns about my decision, please don't hesitate to bring them up.

I appreciate the thoughtful reply. What I wanted most out of my original post was to be able to copy and paste parts of my skins together. I really appreciate the replys. I never realized how much copying was going on! I truly feel for you. I love my work, and I just want to apologize for the harsh reply. I am now more than exited to use this program for 1.4!!!

A practical and simple double piston invention, I like it! far to much redstone is done nowadays that isn't practical in survival.

I myself like to hide my chests behind a incinerator(lava)

    1. Not going to happen.
    2. Future version; however, we don't encourage you using "parts". This is called unoriginality. Skins posted using parts will get deleted on most sites (I'm a site moderator at PlanetMinecraft - we don't allow skins made with part pickers there). MCSkin3D's focus is originality.

Ok, so I use my base skin to make different multiplay custom maps, but you wont integrate an option for me to put my 100% original skin into different original outfits? I dont want to have to replicate all my pixels just because you don't want to. I advise you to reconsider. So far, this tool has been an amazing help, but if that is your stance, Im slightly concerned about using it in the future.

    Just some constructive criticism.

Simple, effective. good job finding this out on your own, but some people dont much like common redstone to be reposted. Do some research first. If it is actually new, then post it! Save you some grief later.
