If saddles were craftable, that would INSTANTLY make both saddled pigs and horses way to easy to obtain. The 2 mobs are supposed to be a REWARD for finding something, not something as a result of a craft.
The problem is that the saddles are limited in number due to the fact that they can only be found in dungeons. How about an expensive recipe? Horses are useless without saddles, so it makes them more like a Minecart now, not a achievement obtainer.

Anyways, you forgot Quartz.
In addition, why not have different needles on the compass for different things, that way, we could have more in one.

I don't know about No.6, it doesn't seem useful to me.

This is a very touchy subject apparently. I do agree we need more blocks of high value, but they have to be something that can be consistently getting more of. I think we need something in between.
Maybe, objects of higher use (More precious items.) should be the rare ones, not basic necessary stuff. Which is why I like having hard to get damaged and chiseled blocks, and horse armor, but dislike having uncraftable saddles.
No support. Gold armor isn't really meant to be used, it would be useless anyways if this was added. Sure, the enchantments wouldn't work, but a diamond sword would destroy it anyway.

I remember this from a couple of months. Took a little bit, but at least it didn't take as long as the ssswariorcats on Youtube. I waited a couple of years for that! Still, both are good shows.

Yes, it has no format, images, titles. But, it really is all there. It is not unexplained, and the information is there, but not elaborated.
As for the idea, I think that there are better alternatives to hidden switches.
