The worlds rotation is slowing, We must move underground to Survive!
Solar Apocalypse is a survival game, to make mine craft even harder! The mod destroys all plant and animal life on the surface over a span of 4 days. Players are forced to move underground and try to survive as long as they can.
This new mod changes the rotation of the earth and slows it down causing longer days and nights. so during the day the earth is a burning inferno and at night its a snowy frozen waste land.
The mod also has options for day only and night only modes.
C_herse Has taken over development of mine craft mod. Single Player Version

If command blocks aren't even in the creative inventory, why should they be craftable?

On the server i play on, you can place signs on doors, chests, furnaces, craftingtables, and other utilities in order to private them, which makes them unbreakable/unusable to anyone but you.
Something that's fun to do it to make a house out of furnaces or craftingtables, then privating them all. Then you can put a diamond/gold/lapis/iron block inside that's viewable from a window. It's a great way to troll griefers.

If the old Minecraft is better than the "new" Minecraft, which you emphasize "new" as some sort of execrable word, how come you can do a heckaofalot more stuff in the "new" Minecraft?
Let's see what you do in the old Minecraft.... You build a house. Start a mine. Craft. Fight mobs. Start a wheat farm. Go to the nether. Collect stuff. Make better buildings. Make some redstone stuff. Discover new biomes(that is, if you're a newb). Get a wolfy.
Thats it. Nothing of real mind-boggling fun. I'm not saying the old Minecraft wasn't fun, you can still have fun, it just really ;acked in our current content.
Now let's see what our currrent minecraft has in-store.... You build a house. Start a mine. Craft. Fight mobs. Start a wheat/carrot/tater/melon and animal farm. Gather levels. Go to the nether. Find a fortress. Collect stuff. Make better buildings. Make potions. Make some advance redstone stuff. Discover new biomes(specfically the infamous mushroom biome). Get a wolfy. Get a kitty. Find a village. Make the village bettter. Trade. Use experience from mobs for enchanting. Fight more mobs. Build even more with fancy aesthetic additions. Mine even more. Deck out in armour. Find a stronghold. Find the dragon. If you're too lazy to collect materials in survival, you can use creative mode for builds. customize a world with superflat presets. Get more realistic sized biomes with "Large biomes".

I tried it. It ended up feeling a bit empty. I like the new biomes we have. They added more to the game. I love the new structures we have. They make the worlds feel less empty. I love the new mobs we have. They enchance gameplay and add new challenges. I even like the current terrain generator a bit better. It has different coding for each biome, and dispite nearly removing all floating islands, is more realistic.
