As a player who does mainly peaceful, peaceful mode is for those that enjoy building, or perhaps the blocky sunset over the blocky ocean. It's fun to survive in peaceful, but not to get assaulted in other modes. Some people will disagree with that last statement, but it's not a matter of balance in peaceful. Bows for hunting pigs and cows, bonemeal for fireworks, wool, and farming, it's not a balance issue in peaceful, because there just isn't much balance in peaceful, since its for more laid-back players...
