Still loving the development of this mod, I'm glad you're planning on adding some more stuff. Some commenters on my video are asking if it's multiplayer compatible. Since it's forge, I'm assuming it is, but apparently it crashes. Do you have any experience with multiplayer, or shall I do some testing (I might try and make a multiplayer installation video if it's okay and I have the time)?

I can't thank you enough for this! I really appreciate this. The stages last change every day, so you can quickly speed them up by setting the time to night, then setting it to day again.

No problem about the video. Wish I'd tried the time thing before - would've been easier than leaving my computer to record for an hour!

Okay, I finished the video. it has recordings of all stages except the last (leaves degrading), but they're sped up to reduce the video time. If you want a video that has each stage in real time (and no commentary) just ask, and I'll be able to do it.

I'm just recording a video at the moment, but it's taking a while for the stages to progress. I don't suppose there's any way to speed it up? Also, do the stages just occur after a time has passed, or are there other conditions such as daylight?

The mod looks great though! I'm currently watching stage 2, and I love how the leaves grow from top to bottom. The timberwolf howls were a nice touch too.

posted a message on Need someone to make a texture pack with
Post things like what kind of pack you want to make, how much work you'd be willing to put in (since you said you don't have the time to do a texture pack, so that probably turns off a lot of people), what textures you're good at/would like to do, and most importantly, post examples of your work. People probably aren't going to help until they have an idea of what skill level you're working at, and the style you use. You probably also want a template application, so people post the things you're looking for, for example if they have Skype. You may also be better off posting something more definitive - for example, post a theme with a few textures and other important things (for example, the palette and texture resolution), but that's up to you.

Hopefully, that should get more people interested. Good luck with your endeavours!

Vanilla Minecraft isn't designed to use textures at anything other than 16x. The fact that most textures will work at higher resolutions isn't really an intended feature. MCPatcher actually gives Minecraft HD texture support, preventing the texture bugs you mentioned. So, yes, you have to use MCPatcher or an equivalent (Optifine).

posted a message on Respriting vanilla swords. Is it legal and how should I go about it?
In terms of legality, this is what I know (correct me if I'm wrong). For personal use, anything goes.

If you want to remix someone else's work, check the license for the texture pack.

    Texture Artists Union Emblems:

TAU Wood - non-commercial, anything else goes (no credit is required).
TAU Iron - non-commercial, anything else goes, credit required.
TAU Gold - non-commercial, written permission required.
    TAU Diamond - off limits.

Creative Commons Licences are made up of multiple parts. Credit is always required.

Non-commercial ($ with a slash in) - what it says on the tin
Share Alike (Circular arrow) - the same license must be used for your work as their's did
No-Derivs (=) - you can't edit it, though you're allowed to post it somewhere else.

Legally, texture packs with no license are covered under a 'All Rights Reserved' license, where legally, you can't do anything (including downloading it). Though, that's fuzzy, and any texture pack probably isn't meant to be covered under that (which is why the forums require posters to use a license).

Technically, you can't modify any of Mojang's work, meaning that mods that modify class files are illegal. However, there's nothing really stopping you, and no one will do anything to stop you if you do, apart from egregious offences like posting the minecraft.jar

In short, go ahead if it's for personal work, and check the licenses if it isn't. I'm no lawyer, so this might not be 100% accurate.

I made a Mod Spotlight / Video Tutorial.

The block crafting recipe and axe textures seem broken, by the way.

As for suggestions, I'd love to see the ability to have multiple ores, enchanting and the ability to name the items.

Hey, I also made a mod review. I didn't realise Clou had made one until mine was rendering, but I hope it's useful regardless.

I'd love to see a few extra things in the mod, like the ability to use dense blocks in crafting (like making a stack of sandstone by crafting four dense sand blocks) and maybe a way to automatically turn items in chests into dense blocks. Apart from that, amazing mod!

    posted a message on [1.6.4] Recycler [v13.10.28][ENG/GER][SSP/LAN/SMP]
Hey, I made an English video spotlight for the mod.

I really liked the mod, but the recycler seems much too slow without the mystic stone. Perhaps, you could make it so that it uses up the fuel, but it goes faster. For example, redstone could take one minute, and the ender pearl could produce the same speed as the mystic stone, with the mystic stone giving infinite uses. I'd also like to see a few more items being able to be recycled, like pistons/sticky pistons and stairs.

Apart from that, amazing mod! I'd love to see it be developed further!

I have returned from my break! I have to say, I preferred it when I was winning by default ;]

I took a sneaky look at the thread a few days back, and thought Zhylla's was amazing. Then I saw Zamaj's.. Kudos, you are a better artist than I. I would be happy for you to win. Though, if anyone wants to vote for me, that's fine too!

What about opaque textures like ice? That's technically a different color...

That was answered earlier in the thread:

    Quote from Seradicus

Clarification: You can not use the pastel or transparent colors of Paint.NET's palette, though you can add partial transparency to blocks that support it, so long as you provide an opaque version of the texture within your submission.

So transparency is allowed, as long as you don't blend (and provide an opaque version as proof).

Woo, submission time! Also, Seradicus, you might want to add a rule saying not to steal other people's textures. If anyone needs me for some reason, I'll still have easy internet access for the rest of today, and tomorrow morning (I'm in GMT+1/BST). After that, I'll be periodically able to check the thread if anything needs changing, but I won't be able to do much since I'll be away.

    Good luck to everyone else!

posted a message on OptiFine HD (FPS Boost, Dynamic Lights, Shaders and much more)
Thanks for everything you do, sp614x. Optifine improves my FPS massively when I need it, and lets me push my computer to its limits with AAx16 and extreme render distance. Magic Launcher lets me install mods painlessly, and has helped me repeatedly. We all are incredibly grateful for what you do - you've really had an impact on the community (the fact that it mentions you on the Minecraft splash screen is a testament to this). Have a happy birthday, you deserve it.
