posted a message on Odd FPS issue with 512x texture pack

Hello everybody.... I am having a strange issue that I can't explain...

I am making a 512x texture pack, and it is working great. All blocks and most items are replaced with 512x textures, and my game runs at over 100 FPS...

Recently, I created 512x textures for all of my tools (Pickaxe, Axe, Hoe, Sword, etc.), and when I load the new textures in my pack, my game's FPS drops to like 1.......

I can't understand why that would be... I am using the same quality textures all over my game, including on many held items, but with these loaded in the game, it runs SUPER slow... Even my menu before I load a world is slow...

When I take out the new textures, it works great again...

Anybody have an explanation or any advise for this odd phenomenon?

posted a message on Transforming string
    Hello all,
Thank you for your time reading this...
I am running a modded Minecraft client, 1.10.2 with Forge and optifine, and everything is working great! The issue I am having is regarding string... I do not know if this is an issue with vanilla minecraft, or some of my mods, but I can't find anything with my google-fu, so here I am, asking the advise of the experts.
Whenever I run string between tripwire hooks, it appears to work fine. I can active the tripwire hook by touching the string, and it all seems fine. Occasionally however, the string will spontaniously transform into other nearby blocks. My string appears as redstone wire pretty often, but it still works fine when it does this. Pretty frequently however, it will appear as just the bottom part of an extended piston, and when it does this, I can't pass through it, because my client thinks that it is a solid block.
Relogging corrects the issue, turning the string back into string, but it transforms again randomly. This is very frustrating...
Does anybody have any advise on this issue? Anything I can do to fix it?

P.S. My brother is having the same issue. The mods that we have in common are Forge, with optifine and inventory tweaks.

I host a vanilla minecraft server at my home. About 5 people play on the server, most of them in the home, but a couple outside.

The server works fine for most everything, but timing on Redstone seems off... This affects music blocks, by constantly changing the delay between tones, so the music sounds terrible. I also tried a slime elevator, which works perfect in single player, but it only works like 1/5 the time on the server...

    What is causing this issue?

What can I do with my server to correct it?

    Any help would be appreciated.
