How in the heck do I remove destinations from my dialing device while in survival (I have tons thanks to screwing around with the mods dimension builder early on). I've tried the /rfttp commands but they're not allowed while in survival so I have no clue. Having to scroll through them all just to dial in the dimensions I've built that I've kept is driving me nuts. Not to mention the occasional slip up and I end up sending myself to a dimension that is no longer there and I die and lose all my stuff. Please help... McJty

As 4rz0 said, you can remove the receiver to remove it from the dialer (this means you will need to revisit closed dimensions, possibly using a charged porter to get back). Also, you can favorite receivers you visit often, and then set your dialer to show only favorites. :)

    Quote from 4rz0»

The solution for that is quite simple: Everything should be moved at once.

We already talked about that on IRC, I suggested changing the builder in a way that it needs a "precharge" (time, energy), depending on how many blocks it has to move, then move evertything at once instead of over time.

Of course it's up to McJty if/how he wants to "fix" this problem with the builder.

Remove the Matter Receiver from the world and it will vanish in the list as well.

Perhaps there could be two tiers of builder - one over time, another instantaneous. The instantaneous one could be helpful for traps (as discussed) or impatient/in-game rich people, while the slow one could be helpful for less important, more early game projects, and miserly people (such as myself ;)). It's important to remember that the builder's intended function is more for actual buildings than it is traps - while it is possible to use it to make traps, the fact that it is not optimized for trap-making should not come as a surprise.

You need the blue pill item, which you can only get by creatively spawning it in.

You can also get both types of pill as dungeon loot, I think. :)

One issue with axes dealing greater damage than swords is that the player will not (most of the time) be fighting any mobs with more than 20 health. So, if I attack something with a diamond sword, then it takes 3 hits minimum to kill something. However, with the diamond axe, it only takes 2. It doesn't matter if the cooldown is longer; 2 swings with a slow weapon is probably faster than 3 even with a lighter weapon.

Also, it bugs me that axes still take 2x durability damage. If they want us to use them seriously, then they need to make them not break so often.

For those who are curious - if the "attack speed" stat represents hits per second, then a diamond hoe would do 8 DPS. For reference, the diamond sword does 10.15, and the axe 9.35. Also, hoes do not take durability damage from attacking.

I foresee staff-wielding warriors beating the crap out of their enemies, one quick hit after another. :P

    Yes.

    You underestimate several things, Keybounce:

    - The cost of a GOOD RFTools DImension.

    - The cost of actually engine-spamming.

    - The low-return of engine-spamming easy-to-make engines.

    - The configurability of RFTools and Minetweaker.

I hope most of this is just thinking out loud on your part, as if I were you, this is how I would go about accomplishing your goal as I see it:

    In the RFTools Config:

    1. Reduce the RF Buffer of dimensions to something small - instead of 40 Billion, or whatever it is, set it to 600,000 (a 10,000 RF/t dimension will drain that in 60 seconds). Make sure to change the time when instability starts accordingly. You may need to change this again later, when you...

    2. Increase the RF Cost of dimensions. You can change the total multiplier, OR change the cost of each Dimlet individually - do you want iron block dimensions to be super expensive? Then double the cost of the modifier or something. It's really that easy.

    Using Minetweaker:

    3. Increase the cost of the recipe for the RoC --> RF Converter. Perhaps have each one require regular materials, but then just one of some rare resource you can't really mass produce - say, a diamond (or two, depending on how consistent you think mining in the overworld will be). This will contribute to spam prevention, as building one converter becomes a much larger investment. In order to prevent bypassing that by just building RF engines, you should...

    4. Disable the recipes of all RF-specific engines. Problem solved.

Also, please don't beat on RF, and how easy it is. You know what? It's not supposed to be super-realistic or challenging. I'm here to play Minecraft, not Don't Starve: Electrical Engineering Edition. Seriously. I, for one, am here to play without all the restrictions I have in real life - respect that instead of complaining about it.

If I sound angry, it's because I am angry. It seems like every other day, some RoC/IC2 fanboy comes on the thread of a mod I like and complains about how RF is so horrible, how it takes all the challenge out of Minecraft. Stop acting so aloof! Your way is not objectively better - if it were, nobody would use RF. Stop acting superior.

*sigh* If that's not you, I'm sorry. Please just spread the word to not be so harsh and be careful not to do so yourself.

Yes i know but on the site i don't understand how the replicator work and there is just a video where the replication is acting but none of what we have to do before. I look three showcases videos but i don't understand how it work.

    Check out everything on networking.

At some point, yeah; having a spotlight of something would be great. This is such a cool mod, but replication is hard to get working.

Did you read the OP thoroughly enough? I'm fairly certain the information is already there.

I presume that AoE stands for A lot of Explosions ?

I't basically has to do with how the computer stores integer values. If the value becomes bigger than the maximum, there is a bit overflow that moves a bit into the sign bit position and makes the number, negative.

    AoE = Area of Effect.

So, in this scenario, shooting the ground with a phaser on stun would stun everything within a certain block radius.

I am playing on a server. We are not able to create private worlds. I think that is a number one priority. Maybe put that into the mod ASAP?

I think it IS possible. All you have to do is set the receiver in the dimension to be private.

OK So I indeed found a version compatible with the setup with my small server (version 2.0). now I need help with a different situation, turns out my friends already started tinkering about with the dimension builder of RFTools and now we have little over 35 dimensions... (thats a lot of dimension entries on our dialers) so according to the documentation that I read, the command /rftdim safedel & /rftdim cleanup was implemented in a newer version than 2.0 so I was wondering is there a way to remove those dialer entries and reclaim the dimension IDs?

My advice would just be to update forge and all the mods that need updating. *Most* mods have handled the update by now, and you shouldn't lose any progress just from updating.

That said, if you're feeling risky, you should be able to manually edit the world file (MAKE A BACKUP FIRST). Go into the world folder and poke around for a bit; delete any folders whose names are a dimension ID you want gone. After that, they should all be gone from the receiver.

Alternatively, you could go into those dimensions and just remove the receivers. That'll remove the entry from the dialer, but not from the world folder itself (which is the same as the "edit world folder" method, just with less danger). Keep in mind that you will need to get BACK from the dimension, and those transmitters are not cheap. :P

I still recommend just updating. TONS of cool stuff has been added, and you're missing out on RFTools and every other mod you've used so far. :P

    Looks awesome !

I haven't made the matter network that complex yet. Computercraft Integration is in the works and i will eventually integrate it with AE2, so that crafting jobs can be crated.

That would be brilliant. There are no words to describe how awesome that would be.

    Luckily, we have smilies. :D

The new version has a bug that requires Computercraft and Waila that will be fixed. The only dependency should be Cofhlib

Is there an ETA on that fix, or no? I hate to be the guy who asks that, but I can't help myself... Just this once, I swear. :P

Can I request a healing-barrel for the Phaser? A modifier that consumes more power, but heals stuff when you shoot it instead of hurting them. Maybe it always stuns instead of having a 'damage' setting, and maybe it hurts undead? :)

I'll try to implement myself in my own mod (I'm still learning :P) if you don't get around to it, but it'd probably be more professional if you did it. ;)
