    IGN: Tyman2007

    Age and Gender: 19/Trap

Why you want to play on this server: Play with friends. Friends who are cool.

How often will you play: I have no life, so however long that is.

    Strengths: I have no weaknesses.

What is your past experiences with White-listed Survival Servers: I've ran over 10, most have failed, but about 3-4 have succeeded as much as a small server can. On others, I've never been banned and end up donating to quite a few if they are worthwhile.

Have you ever been banned(exclude death-ban server bans): Yes, from friends on my own servers, but I guess that isn't the answer you were looking for.

Are you acquainted with the MindCrack server: Have you heard of a small youtuber called direwolf? I watch his videos.

Will you work with the community to make the server a better place: Well, I won't work to make it a worse place, so yes.

Thanks for the reply :P Will check it out and get back to you on how it works out.

EDIT: Works out awesome! Thanks for the suggestion. Now it's time to spend hours trying to figure out where the code he uses is lol

So.. I'm new to minecraft modding.. Really new actually. I'm just wondering, how do I override a vanilla recipe, or override a worldgen option like coal?

I've been searching for a while with no luck, so if anyone would help me it would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately gregtech isn't open source (to my knowledge. I can't find the code) so I can't learn how that mod does it, but it proves that it is possible.

EDIT: I should also mention I'm trying to do it with forge for compatibility reasons.

I can only assume this is a server-side problem.

It is possible, that if your ISP explicitly has a policy of "no servers" on consumer plans, that their network is causing this issue.

The ISP network could be configured such that A & B cannot talk to one another peer to peer (or client / server).

Well, let's just say we all have the same ISP because there really is no other ISP out here. Everyone else can connect just fine except this one person, who has my ISP. I may be a little misunderstanding of what you're trying to say. If 2 people have the same ISP, but different plans, could that be a factor? As I don't think there's any 'different' plans available.

I'll go ahead and use the program on both of our ends and see if that works.

Please do NOT let this thread die. I have this exact same problem. Here's what we know.

    1. There's 3 people all on the same ISP within a local range.

    2. 1 of those 3 is hosting, and only 2 of them can connect (including the owner)

    3. 1 of them cannot connect, but can connect to any other server just fine.

    4. All ports are forwarded and open. They've done a fresh install multiple times and restarted their computer.

    5. This is a really frustrating issue and there's no other information on the subject.

So please, do NOT let this thread die.

You really just gave a reason for it's removal. Also if nobody uses it, why even have it?

User ratings are to determine how popular you are with the community.
Are you just mad that you have a bad rep and one star?

I don't care about rep and I understand the rep system, but the thing is, popularity and rating are 2 different things. That's what rep is for, and rating is like saying that their ideas are worse than other peoples ideas, just because other people think a little differently.

It's really just a number to me, but in my experiences with websites, people do leave when they notice they have a rating and it's poor.

posted a message on Why is there user ratings?
Just a quick question. I know the motives are pure and all, but the thing is, rating people based on their ideals? If someone is going to get rated down just because the person that rated them thinks a little differently is like saying "This user is bad because he doesn't think the same as everyone else."

I vote to have this removed. The thing is, some people out there are going to post what they think, get rated down after a while, and notice that their rating is low and will quit because they are offended. It's pointless and insulting.

And for those who think that this would be to identify spammers, that's what the report button is for.

posted a message on Startin up a new server- Need a Team, and Some good ideas(Really need Coders/Builders)
Hmm.. Need coders, huh? I can assist with the plugins and website I suppose, but the thing is, it's not my server so you have to make the final decisions.

    IGN: Tyman2007
    Age: 17

Coding experience (1-2 paragraphs of what you’ve done):
-1 year of c++, 1 year of java, 2 years of JASS (Useless to us, but good enough), little experience in lua, html, php, but enough to set up a website, decent with MySQL, but I need time to do work.

More or less, I can screw around with certain things, but I'm mainly good with getting a server into working shape with coding. As far as creating mods go, there really aren't any mods that people haven't already made on their own. I can possibly create plugins if necessary, but I wouldn't put too much stress on the need.

Maturity level (1-10): Saying that I'd be a constant number is narrow minded, so I'll just say "Mature when necessary"

    Commitment level (1-10): 1, as I'm on-call and won't do unnecessary things.

How often can you play?: On-call, but I'd say a few times a week for an hour at a time.
List some coding talents you have (ex: Plugins, Mods,Etc…): I'm an all around guy
    Why should I choose you?:
-I suppose this is a question for the both of us.. First off, I'm a nice guy, second off, I know what I'm doing most of the time around 50% of the time.

If you like what you see, I won't join unless you get a server with MySQL hosting, has bukkit, and if it doesn't already come with a website to have php scripting enabled. If it's missing one, forget it.

    posted a message on [1.8.1]Tyman2007's Evil Mini-Mods
I have just started coding, and I'm going to release a bunch of mini-mods that will make the game harder. These mods will focus on changing content rather than adding content, so compatibility with other mods will be an issue.

More or less, I'm tired of the simplicity in the game, so expect some mods and throw some requests for game content changes. I suck at modding (fair warning) so don't expect a lot. Hopefully, if I ever become good enough, I will release an Evil mod which changes the games mechanics so much to make it a million times more of a pain.

First off, installing mods is the same as always.
    1. Open minecraft.jar with your favorite compression application
(Optional) Install Risugami's Modloader if required
    2. Install the class file(s) included
    3. Delete the META-INF folder
    4. Find a better guide for installing mods if necessary.

    Planned Mods:
    -Half Health
    -Nerf Armor
    -Nerf Weapons
    -Buff NPCs
    -Lower Iron Spawn
-Add limestone as requested by Optimum Modding.
+Limestone will make coal more realistic and about 10 times more rare. Good luck.

    Painful(ly realistic) Coal
Painful Coal is a mod that removes all coal spawns in stone and forces coal to spawn in dirt. Normally, coal is found in limestone, which is found in dirt, but I was too lazy to add in limestone. Coal spawn rates are rationally the same (e.g. if it spawned every 100 stone blocks, it spawns every 100 dirt blocks), and seeing as how there is much less dirt than stone, the odds of finding it are lower.

Modifies dc.class which may conflict with other mods that mess with core world generation.
    Download

I will look at requests and determine in my head if they're simple enough for me to do, so feel free to request changes.

I am trying to make a block that does not give you fall damage. I have been trying to use the
    entity.fallDistance = 0.0F;
piece, but that does not seem to do anything.

More or less, you're tackling this all wrong. It won't do anything if you set the distance you've fallen after you've hit the ground as it would have already registered you've hit the ground at that distance. The key is to look for the part of the code that gives fall damage itself. I know nothing of minecraft coding though, so you're on your own when it comes to finding it unless someone wishes to say how.

    Now.. Onto my problem.

How do I change the current ore spawn rates/locations? Like how do I change the spawn rate and location of coal for example. How do I make an ore only spawn in a certain block, like dirt instead of stone?

    Any help is appreciated.

Learn to use periods.. Jesus christ. You see the "." key on your keyboard? They don't just go at the end of the sentence or paragraph. See what I just did there?

Honestly, you're not immature enough and nobody likes that. If you can't be someone fun who cooperates with other age groups regardless of their position (being whiny which is just an easy "block" button, or someone with a sense of humor) then you won't make it very far. The fact that you will threaten reporting us if we go against what you think is not something you want to show the people.

Besides, you easily could've looked at that guy's post and just completely ignored it or even taken it into consideration, but the fact that you insist so much that you're right just shows how arrogant you are. Unlike that other guy, I'm not wishing anything onto you, I'm just giving you a fair warning. If you don't change your attitude to be more open to different personalities and are just sticking with a straight road (basically a 1 trick pony we call), then you won't make it very far.
