He used the "secret" way to get a mob skull to look like a player. (Herobrine is probably an easter egg.) He then put the skull on like a helmet.
But come to think of it, the wiki says there's an actual user called "Herobrine," but nobody knows who owns the account. His skin is probably the obvious, hence the skull working. Maybe...
Yes, there is a property in head items called 'SkullOwner', which changes the skin of the head to match the head of the 'owner'. The exact name he used was not 'Herobrine', but I do not want to reveal the true owner out of respect to Hypixel (Hint, starts with the letter J). Who ever owns this account could troll this adventure map to an epic fail if they changed their skin to something else.
Although there is an account under the name of Herobrine, that skin used does not have a beard, a feature apperent of the cannonical Herobrine, as it was based off the classic 'steve' skin. This lack of authenticity may have been the reason to use a different account for the 'SkullOwner' property. It is a rather ingenious method of adding custom content without using mods.
Using the 'SkullOwner' property has allowed me to do similar things in my adventure map, Order of the Stone. It must also be noted that if you play an adventure map using this feature, without an internet connection, all player skulls will use the default steve skin, regardless of the owner, as the game cannot connect to the minecraft.net database where skins are located.
If given permission, I will reveal the identity of the Herobrine head users account. IDK if anyone other than me and Hypixel knows who it is, and I am not saying I am the only one. But if nobody else but us 2 knows, then I should keep this a secret unless told otherwise.

ROFLMAO!
Was my origional idea. But it would kinda break the pattern of Golden apples and Golden carrots. I also had the idea of having "magic beans" grow into the giant bean stalks, but then realized it would be much more practical simply to do this with bonemeal on a regular one.

Beans can only be planted on farmland, and must be hydrated to sustain the plant.
If you use bone meal on a bean stalk, it will grow into a thicker (full block width) bean stalk between 12 and 16 blocks tall with vines on each side, but no beans. This can be very useful for vine farming. Breaking the large bean stalk will yield between 0 and 4 sticks. You can only use bone meal on a bean stalk if it is 1 block tall.
You can craft beans and gold nuggets to create golden beans. Golden beans cannot be planted. When consumed, they give you between 3 to 7 expirience, similar to mining diamond or emerald ore, restore (1 full shank), and give you 10 seconds of the speed potion effect.
Beans can be crafted with a bowl to yield bean soup. Bean soup will restore (1 and a half shanks).

I know what he was asking, you should re-read my post.
I was talking about disabling snow cover, not the weather. In order for one to have snow everywhere, snow cover would have to be disabled, unless you want snow to be everywhere.

The slime block is a green fluid block with some very interesting properties.
Slime blocks have a blast resistance of 6,000, equal to that of obsidian, but can be broken with your fists at the same speed as breaking dirt. Because of this, slime can be used to coat your house, instead of having to resort to obsidian, which can be a pain to use if you make mistakes.
You can pass through slime blocks, making them useful for climbing across walls, and even the ceiling. Although slime blocks are a fluid, they do not spread from the source. You move through slime at the same speed as moving through lava, but you don't take any damage, or lose any air.
They block the flow of water, and although they are flame resistant, they become destroyed if they touch lava. You can use them to make a membrane around a structure to prevent large amounts of water from drowning it.
You can place a trail of slime blocks along a path across the ocean floor so you can regain air (completely unrealistic, but rather useful). You can even wedge it into a sheet of ice to explore the waters below without having to worry about it freezing over, trapping you in the ice.
You can use it to fall hundreds of blocks without taking falling damage.
Dispite it being flame resistant, if you are on fire, slime blocks will not put it out.
Slime blocks will not prevent you from being hit by arrows, or other projectiles that manage to pass through it.
Mobs can also pass through slime blocks, albeit not as fast.

There used to be a winer mode in minecraft, but it was removed previous to the implementation of the taiga biome, as well as other such cold biomes.
It is a decent idea, but could cause problems with the current weather system.

Creativity: 5/10 Meh... IDK man... Seems kinda good, but certainly needs more work.
Music: Q/10 I didn't even bother playing music, I just ran through it.
Design: 3/10 Basic usage of parkour obstacles were extremely easy for me, probably because I use the smart moving mod. Bordering out areas is a horrible way to direct the player. Why does every single adventure map have to tear the landscape apart for a simple man made village? Learn to build into the landscape, or around it. Don't adjust the landscape around your buildings.
Fun Factor: 2/10 I played it in survival mode, and I did use cheats later in the game. Not very interesting, other than abusing the fact that I could destroy and place blocks.

I use GIMP for all of my graphic design needs, as I see it as a far more advanced piece of software. Although, I used to use Paint.NET. In fact, this avatar I have, that I will probably never change, was made in Paint.NET.

Noise is the scrambling and shuffling of pixels randomly about the image. THIS should help explain it.
Noise filters are commonly used to make textures look rough and grainy. Whether or not you actually used a noise filter, the textures have noise.
