I don't think he will actually play the mod correctly. Hopefully it is not as bad as YouAlwaysWin's AoA series. It was actually awful.
Seeing as he took a long time to make this mod pack, I'm hoping that meant he's had some type of contact with Xolova. If that's the case, he might actually have a really good idea of how to play.
Wow guys! I've been gone for a while (and still might be) but once I got the notification, I just had to hop on and congratulate you all for your two years of hard work! I know it wasn't always easy, and at times, you all probably wanted to just quit, but you kept on at it anyways, and know that we, the fans, appreciate all that you've done in bringing one of our favorite mods back to life!
Bad news guys. I'm going to have to put the guide project on hold for a while. If someone else wants to take it up, that's fine. But otherwise, it might take me a while before it's finished.
#1: Bosses currently clear a large area around them when taking suffocation damage, but this can have a number of drawbacks...
1. Some people will spawn bosses near their house...not nice.
2. This can be abused to do stuff like destroy Bedrock. Think - a player goes down to bedrock with nothing but the troll idol and spawns Smash with his head in a stone block, creating a huge void hole. There's nothing to prevent it. This also renders the formation staff useless, as this clearing function is really just a larger formation staff effect.
3. This can destroy the boss altar. Imagine a boss just randomly running into a nearby terrain block and clearing out the boss structure, including the altar. This leaves no way to spawn the boss again.
2 and 3 can probably be solved by checking to make sure a block isn't bedrock or a boss altar of any sort before setting it to air. 1 could probably be mitigated by making the clear radius a bit smaller. I spawned Smash once near a stone pillar for no good reason (without knowing about this) and now there's this large hole that looks like a chunk error.
Yeah, Xolova made an earlier version of this system to prevent people spawning bosses in walls and killing them for easy drops. I agree with your points, but honestly, I wouldn't recommend people spawning bosses near their house. Even a normal wither is deadly, and I should know. I one fought one and ran using a colorful portal a while back. It got in my house and... well let's just say I started a new world
how do you open deep cases and iro crates the wiki doesnt say. i have punched them but they disappear that way and mining them just gives me the block. i dont have silk touch on my pick either.
What type of pickaxe are you using? Is it one from this mod? (That's how it's supposed to work)
Is there a certain version of DRPG to use? I am having alot of trouble finding a 1.7.10 version of it also
They're in beta testing now. Of course if you know enough about gradle builds you can compile a version yourself. I have the beta with AoA and other mods installed. I can safely say that everything's perfectly balanced It's really fun too, RPG is a great companion with AoA now. It's armor is more durable, but has weaker protection, so you'll have to choose which one you want.
Will there finally be an in-game guide? Right now, quite a lot of content, such as what drops some items or how is some furniture used, can be only found through trial and error or by looking it up.
That one in bold is the most problematic one. I found a clunkhead arena (I know it's that because there's a spawner on the first floor with these flat mobs) and I haven't seen the clunkhead altar yet because it's covered in those terrain bricks.
The terrain in structures is intended. It's a technique Xolova uses to reduce lag when loading the dimensions.
On DivineRPG page it says this is the main page right?? so this is not the divineRPG follow up? I think that DivineRPG + AoA would pretty much mess up the world.
Correct, DivineRPG and AoA are two different mods... And the world isn't so bad now The RPG team has rebalanced the mod so that it would go with AoA. Before however, it was a nightmare. I've been playing with an old build of the mod until about a week ago, but I was able to survive. It was somewhat hard due to the fact that iron is weaker with RPG, but that makes it more fun! I would have recomended that too, but it's still not released yet.
Any Ideas for other mods that go well with AoA, as I love the current selection of mods I have but I am looking for more (always). (I don't have IC installed in this one I forgot to do that on this survival run).
Current collection of mods:
- Twilight Forest
- Thaumcraft
- Thaumcraft NEI plugin
- Tconstruct
- Optifine
- NEI
- Mystcraft
- Mutant Creatures
- More Enchantments
- Minegicka
- Meteors
- Metallurgy
- Iron Chest
- Inventory Tweaks
- Infernal Mobs (It makes half of the mobs a lot harder so I kinda removed it at some point)
- Galacticraft
- Enhanced Biomes
- Carpenter's Blocks
- Buildcraft
- Blood Magic
- Biomes O' Plenty
- Atum
- AoA (DUUH)
- Aether II
- Damage Indicators
- Voxel Map
Thanks
Bro, no colorful portals?! 0_0 How can you survive?! lol Seriously that and Hardcore Ender Expansion as this mod adds nothing to the end and that's another well made mod that adds TONS of stuff to it. Seriously, it's like a AoA dimension Also, do you have a backpack mod? If not, I'd get that too..
Side Note: Would be cool if there was an AoA backpack
Hey guys! I love this mod, it's incredible and works perfectly!
However, it's giving me a couple issues with "The Erebus" mod; as in using the Erebus portal crashes my game (but only when using multiple mods. I've checked every ID my config folder will allow, but no dimension ID or Biome ID is conflicting)
Plus, with Nevermine installed, I am unable to utilise the "Block O' Bones" feature from The Erebus. (Usually when you die with Erebus installed, a block spawns that holds your entire inventory. However, the block does not spawn and my inventory spills over the floor as normal)
Weird, I have AoA and The Erebus as well as others, yet I don't experience a crash... (Block O' Bones is normal though, fixed in the newest version) Though, I do notice you have Biomes O' plenty...
Ok thought my problem was solved but apparently not. For the past couple weeks while trying this mod out, I loved it, but the only thing that isnt spawning is Blood hunt mobs, I do get the message of "The hunt for blood has begun" but I search every biome and none spawn. The full mood mobs spawn perfectly fine, I have no other mods installed that create non-AoA mobs, only have legend gear 2 and other inventory specific mods but none that would delete the blood mobs. So any advice would be welcomed.
That's a known bug. Will be fixed in the next update, nothing wrong on your end

Well, seems like Popularmmos is starting a series with Aoa... should be interesting. Hopefully it gets more people interested!
