Why are you using default terrain? Sorry, but nobody will play a map that uses default terrain. And about the tree, try making lots of smaller branches going off from the trunk. Maybe some leaf vines would work.

What do you do with wild spawners? - In the early game, Keep them deactivated, Mid-game, farms, late game, keep the farms on, but don't really use them,
I generally only use them for skeletons, but I prefer making my own farm.
