I am in full agreement. Early access of a couple of weeks to a month is defensible. Six months is not.

Oh hey, just in case nobody said anything. Apparently Magical Crops came out of paywall beta! I don't like most of the new changes much though :-(

You should probably allow the Totem to "home" on the ore, or it makes it almost less useful than the talisman. Some keybind or maybe holding the item in your hand?

OK, there seem to be dependencies of which I am unaware.

As I mentioned, there are only a few things from this mod that I actually want in my world. I went through the config file and disabled all but the following blocks, items and recipes:

    B:ChandelierEnabled=true

    B:CurtainEnabled=true

    B:PortalEnabled=true

    B:MagnumTorchEnabled=true

    B:TradingPostEnabled=true

    B:GoldenBagEnabled=true

    B:GoldenLassoEnabled=true

    B:WateringCanEnabled=true

    B:disableChandelierRecipe=false

    B:disableCurtainRecipe=false

    B:disableGoldenBagRecipe=false

    B:disableGoldenLassoRecipe=false

    B:disableMagnumTorchRecipe=false

    B:disableSuperWateringCanRecipe=false

    B:disableWateringCanRecipe=false

And this got me a crash at startup. So I thought, "OK, maybe I disabled too much. I wonder if bedrockium is required for, say, the portal?" So I re-enabled the bedrockium block and ingot and tried again. And I still got a crash, but a different crash, which the current iteration of the forums software is being INCREDIBLY uncooperative about allowing me to paste in, but in brief it's a null pointer exception at com.rwtema.extrautils.ExtraUtils.FMPRegisterPassThroughInterfaces(ExtraUtils.java:1115) ~[ExtraUtils.class:?] during extrautils.ExtraUtils.init. So I'm guessing there's still something else I need to re-enable. Can anyone tell me what it most likely is?

(Forum won't even let me paste in the pastebin URL for the crash report. It's at https://bpaste.net/show/b19a0c41bb66.)

(ps. Dear forums, thank you very much for completely mangling that quoted text. NOT. Trying again, with no attempt to blockquote this time.)

You're having Forge Multipart issues. Is that mod installed in your instance?

If you don't know what something is, there's this magical resource called Google. Though honestly Tema does need to switch to a wiki... ExU is too big for a forum post anymore.

The Green Screen is just that. A Green Screen. For Chroma Key compositing. It's a film term. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chroma_key

The Kikoku is a admin-only sword that does void damage... which is capable of killing players in creative mode.

That should be impossible. I would cheat in some seeds as a replacement. Though I do think there are some in a few other places on the map... I haven't explored fully, so I can't be sure.

I understand that to make the sieve work I need java 8. The dilemma I have is that I am hosting my world on a MineOS server (and yes, I know that a fair amount of people have never heard of that) and I can't just run an installer for java. If someone can tell me how I might do that or at least find a page that tells you how (I've tried searching it on google, nothing helpful comes up) that would be awesome. :-)

And if I don't even have to install it on the server side it's just a client thing and I'm being REALLY stupid by assuming that then that information would be very helpful. :-)

Um, you should actually just be able to run the linux version of an installer... which is even easier... depending on which version of MineOS and if you can SSH into it or have physical access.

Basically you should be able to run

    apt-get update

    and then

    apt-get upgrade

as the superuser to check for updates to all the packages and then update them all without removing any old ones... which shouldn't break anything, but your mileage may vary.

I can't get it to work, it causes the game to crash. Help?

Please post a crash log either in spoiler tags or by linking to a "paste" site like pastebin or paste.ubuntu.com or paste.ee (there are many more options as well). Don't just post it in raw text in the thread, it wastes a LOT of space in the thread.

    I have a feature request:

A block that can be used as a temporary frame/scaffold to place other blocks against and be insta-breakable with hands or any tool. Vanilla slime blocks would be perfect if they were more accessible and not so bouncy for walking on. There are some blocks that can be placed directionally (logs, pistons, etc.) and placing them often requires temporary placement of other blocks to get them positioned correctly. Breaking the temporary blocks puts a lot of unnecessary wear on tools and can take a long time while flying (and be very awkward depending on the type of flight.)

This type of block would also be great for temporary walkways in situations when flight isn't possible or allowed; they could be broken quickly and cheap enough to leave lying on the ground to despawn instead of having to run around collecting them. Stick frames or somesuch for these two uses would be greatly appreciated.

Angel Block. Not cheap, but you can place them completely in midair or against a block, they instant-break, AND go directly into your inventory. Which means unless you've got a need for an amazing amount of "temporary" scaffolding a small handful will probably do just fine :-)

Huh, NEI and CodeChickenCore are the only mods by ChickenBones that are on Curse.... that's odd. With the new launcher having gone public, that's a lot of people that won't be able to easily get all the other awesome mods you put out ChickenBones.

I was wondering if you would consider hosting builds of your mod on CurseForge. I was toying around with the now-public launcher and your mod isn't on the platform so I can't easily download it or keep it updated.

Have you considered additionally (or solely) hosting on CurseForge? Their new launcher dropped and making a pack for yourself is SO EASY now... assuming all the mods you want are on Curse. Which is why I'm posting this :-) I was trying to recreate my personal single player pack on the curse launcher and noticed your mod wasn't available.

With multi-monitor setups web > book every time. Heck, I pop MC out of fullscreen on my single monitor to use the web a lot. Unless it's in the Lexica Botania or I can use NEI. I used the TiCo books until one of the TiCo informational addons (TiCo Tooltips I think) added the information to the parts, so I use NEI for that now too. I actually use the TC4 wiki or Cheat Sheet more than the thaumonomicon, even with the addon that adds a search function.

The only reason I use RotaryCraft's handbook is because I can access it from the machine GUI. Trying to find something in there is better than say OpenBlocks charlie foxtrot of a book, but it still is enough of a pain that I find researching online to be less onerous.

I understand that it's additional work, and you're having trouble finding wiki editors, Reika. Just providing my two pence.

I only had Rotarycraft and DragonAPI in my instance. I'm trying to track down an odd bug relating to (apparently) NBT handling during crafting messing up somewhere. That's the source of the ExU Magical Wood only ever producing one bug, and there's a few more casualties. So all I had was the relevant mods for that :-)

I just confirmed it's a 1.7 only bug though... so... yay I guess?
