How did you find out about The Sanctuary SMP community?: Browsing the Minecraft Forums
Are you familiar with Discord?: Yes
Why are you excited to join our vanilla Minecraft server, and what are you most pumped about in 1.14?: The new building blocks and new villages. Villages finally look decent and are different depending on what biome you're in, finally. But, the new blocks open up whole new sorts of building ideas and great things to make.
Tell us a little about yourself: I am a 16 year boy, who loves playing video games. Whenever I'm at home and have some free time, I jump onto my computer and play videogames with my friends. Now most of my friends have stopped playing Minecraft, but still want to play longterm and love the game. Getting in this server would be great, so I could make some friends and have people to play with in a server.

Hey Snelophant! Thank you for your application, unfortunately however you do not meet our age requirement of 18 years of age. I wish you the best of luck in finding a community that interests you! ;)

posted a message on 1.14 Information and News

The game is becoming more diverse, something I can 100% get behind. We don't have nearly enough information to see how the new villager/pillager mechanics will work out. Scaffolding is something we've been asking for for ages now. Yes jungles are rare, but requiring bamboo will just make it more of an incentive to locate a jungle, driving the need to explore. All these new mobs: Pandas, foxes, etc. They're bringing life into the game. Aside from your typical passive mobs and wolves, there's not much to Taigas. Same with jungles, minus the wolves. We have a foundation for the update, but not any specifics, so really all we can do is wait for snapshots.

posted a message on Minecon 2018 - BIOME CHOOSER POLL (AND INFO)

Termites feel very out of place in the game to me for some reason. They're not pleasant to deal with either, I've got dozens of camping trips to back that statement up. Taiga feels like the only biome where it feels like actual life is being brought in. Maybe it's just because I'm so accustomed to trees and forests living not even an hour away from the Rockies, but still. The other updates to the other biomes are cool, they just seem pretty lackluster imo. I'll be voting Taiga come Saturday.

posted a message on Automatic Block Harvester

Someone on reddit had made a similar suggestion awhile back suggesting that dispensers be able to place crops. Load x crop into dispensers, give it a redstone pulse, and a crop is auto planted onto adjacent farmland. When the crop matures, use a simple water flushing system to clear the land and then rinse and repeat. The problem? It's too easy. I believe Mojang themselves have commented against this kind of implementation. There are all sorts of automatic farms out there designed for end game by the community. You can cage a wither and auto farm trees provided you have a steady stream of bone meal available, which shouldn't be an issue if you have a mob farm. Place a farmer villager in a field of wheat and an inventory full of seeds, and as he plants and harvests all items will be dropped on the floor to be picked up by a hopper minecart below. My point is, there are ways to automate the production of most resources in the game. These kinds of contraptions are complicated, but you have to think about what it is you're getting. 80ish villagers and a specific structure can get me 200ish iron/hr (and there are even more complex designs out there that can get you even more), and with some observers and pistons I can make another set and forget farm for kelp or sugarcane, for example. Turning these farms into single block solutions takes away from the creativity of the game. And that's why we're probably not going to see any sort of one block solutions for farming.

posted a message on Why is not there a default 64x COMPLETE resource pack 1.13 even snapshots are there for months?

People have lives. There are x64 faithful-esc packs out there updated to 1.13, but with their fair share of bugs and incomplete textures. 1.13 completely overhauled how block, mob, and item ids work, which requires every texture file to be renamed to even be recognized by the game. It sounds simple, but having to update hundreds of file names takes time and isn't the most fun task. And that's before most people decide to start texturing 1.13 items and blocks and mobs. All these artists have real lives. Jobs, school, friends and family, which become the priority, and justly so. But just because people have lost time and aren't updating as frequently does not mean that said pack is dead or the game itself is for that matter, though there is another thread for that. My advice would be to either wait or consider other resource packs if or until the packs you're looking for update.

posted a message on Colored Stairs and Slabs?

Mojang has hinted that 1.14 will add some variety to stairs and slabs, though that's a long time off considering the main focus is still obviously on 1.13. I'm sure something of the sort will come in due time.

posted a message on Has 1.13 broken minecraft?

1.13 was originally slated for a May 30th release, but then pushed the update back. By the time they got around to pre releases, there was considerable pressure for Mojang to get the update out as fast as possible. They got 1.13, or pre release 11, to a point where it was playable, and released it. They have a little more freedom now to take their time with 1.13.1, which from what I understand looks to fix some performance issues and squash quite a few bugs as well. Give it another few weeks and then hopefully we'll have a more stable version of the game to play with.

You still need to add textures I told you. Seagrass, Kelp, Pickle, Hearts when attacking, Furnace Fire, Fish, Particles

He'll get to them when he has time. Be patient and wait.
