I've been searching and can't seem to find any plausible explanation on how to make 1.3.+ mods work for servers since everything functions like SMP now. Can someone please tell me how to make these mods work on a server.

I don't know how to write code (although I really, really wish I knew how), but I do know that it is extremely rude to repeatedly ask the chef when the meal will be ready. I wonder if these obnoxious people realize that the modders, while doing this for us free of charge, are also using up an exorbitant amount of their own personal time to do so. They could just as easily write their mods for themselves. We are fortunate that there are people who are skilled coders who are also generous with their time and production.
I don't like it when people jump on a kid with one or two posts who ask one time "when will this mod be ready". We were all noobs at one point. Consider that to be an opportunity to lift someone out of newbdom, and we should show them a little patience. But I have no patience at all for someone who is rude enough to say something like "can you try to speed up the processs a little???". That is a time to unload on a fool. Doing so also serves to create the distinction between noobish posts and obnoxiously rude posts.
