i just looked up 'spectrodes, the creatures themselves look very complex, and not something which could be properly represented with the minecraft engine. and is it necessary to make it the same as the original game except thrown into the minecraft world? why not take some of the ideas from the game and create your own version for minecraft, except different names and monsters? i like the idea of having tropical pets in minecraft but not something thats basically just copied and pasted from another source.

    One word, pixelmon.

I personally have used Mcreator, and I feel that compared to actually coding in java, it is terrible.

Your asking quite a lot. Adding mobs are quite a lot of work, and you want it to be your mod. My recommendation is to learn Java.

It's a scam. It takes 100+ man teams several years just to make a standard mmo these days.

Riot made league in a year and a half with 20 men.

    It isn't a scam.

Ahhh, UPs resident racist dictator. I knew it would only take so long before you found us here. Quick, everyone, pack up and leave before Zultra infects you with his prejudice.

On topic: Seems like its coming along, can't wait to see some actual game play. At least they can show some progress in voidspace. Also, dear everyone, Zultra likes to lie, so you probably shouldn't believe most of what he says.

toast_burner, although very difficult, this is possible, and it is exciting to see if the guys can pull it off. I have my own reservations, but I have faith. Just give them a chance, it may turn out to impress you.

I would be willing to help out. Im 17, and currently learning Java, and as a part of that I am working in forge. I do however have school and such to attend to, so my help will be limited, but I would still love to help.

Just a heads up, I am a terrible artist, so skin making is not something I can do.Do you guys have version control set up yet? If not, I can set it up for you via GitHub.

posted a message on A Small Mod Request
    Quote from kylehen8645

Hi everyone, I am here to ask for a relatively simple mod that allows you to enable/disable mods in-game, so you don't have to repeatedly open .minecraft and restart the launcher if you have many installed for different reasons, like mod reviews and modded survivals. this is just a small request from a person that can't code.

Not possible. You would need to have it automatically download mods from within minecraft. You would need to download the mods directly into a running minecraft client, which is currently not possible. (Cough cough* Mod API *cough Cough)

The other thing I don't get is why people say it's the best Indie game EVER. I wouldn't even call MC an indie.

Minecraft is an indie because it is developed by an indie company. You can't change that.

You could do it with a little work, or you can download a pre built pack from FTB or tekkit.

posted a message on C++ Programmer Needed!
I doubt its C++. Most if not all programs written to run within minecraft are written in Java.

In that case, there are plenty of people on these forums who can help you with that. I might be able to help, but with all the ID stuff updating it is probably out of my league. Ill take a look at the source code and get back to you, but I would suggest asking the older guys on the modding subsection, and maybe check out the Minecraft Forge IRC. Im sure one of them will be willing to help if I can't.

posted a message on How do I write my own mod?
First off, learn Java. You don't need to know everything, but a good bit. If then statements, while loops, and some basic syntax will get you started. I recommend thenewboston's video tutorials. After you know some Java, you need to get MCP and forge (watch a tutorial on how to do that). There are tons of tutorials out there to learn modding, but you can also learn via the Forge documentation. Good luck.

I really like the idea behind this mod, but the physics are too harsh. There's a maximum 1 meter overhang on ALL block types, when placed by hand. This isn't a case of "use scaffolding" but a big problem. You can't HAVE large houses, of any kind, as it would be impossible to support your floors! Or hell, even a small house if the widest room you can have is 2x2 without vaulted ceilings...

Also, mod added structures (in my case, Roguelike Dungeons) eventually collapse in on themselves, which is definitely a no-go.

There does appear to be some config options that would let me tweak this, but for the number of material blocks this effects, I am in no way going to try and "tweak" it away from the defaults.

Even when I was making a stone block with this kind of behavior as a replacement for vanilla stone (and eventually merged the idea into a decay block for Mystcraft) my minimum room width was 6.

I agree, the physics are quite harsh.
