posted a message on cherry cape for java

Some cosmetics like that are only on one version or the other, they might make it available on the other version eventually, or never. Not sure where you could complain about it, Microsoft sure won't care, Mojang might if enough people complain, but don't hold your breath.

Java got the Cherry cape alongside Bedrock although I think there was a small delay in Java players receiving it. By now OP should have gotten it if his MS and Java account is linked properly. In OP's case I'd suggest using the Support section over on Minecraft.net although I can't promise that'll help, but if anyone can help it would be them.

    Good luck.

posted a message on What have you done recently?

Been working on and off over the course of a few months on expanding the "the bunker" under the wheat field outside my house. The intention of the expansion was to make room for large underground plant and animal farms instead of having them on the surface. The rooms attached to the main chamber are mirrored with the opposite side. Going to start hollowing out the rooms for the plant farms today.

I plan to have water flowing down below the catwalk of the large central chamber. For the empty sculk pools I had intended to capture more glow squids along with a couple dolphins to have swim in them, but the color of the water is so dark blue that it conflicts with the look I wanted to achieve. I was hoping that I'd have clearer water like swamps so that the mobs would look like they were swimming in space.

Exposed cave walls, torches and shulker boxes are temporary as it's still an ongoing project.

posted a message on New Dimension

I'm sure they have something like this in mind already considering the portal frame is made of an indestructible block, but I think the current stance of Mojang on new dimensions is that they want to fully flesh out the existing dimensions before they add a new one.

The Nether is already is fairly good shape, but the End is still very empty. If anything I'd expect an End update to come around at some point and that might put a new dimension back on the table.

posted a message on Old forum account no longer accessible?

A long time ago they merged Twitch logins with the forums and I'm fairly certain it was mandatory for the time, but they seem more lenient with how you log on these days as I think you can login with stuff other than Twitch now.

I don't know if you would be barred out of your account for missing the cut off assuming there even was a cut off period.

posted a message on Skeleton Wolves from Minecraft Earth

Good catch, I forgot about that detail. I think either a right click to make the wolf sit, or bones would probably be alright for the taming mechanic although for breeding they should take after the skeleton horses and just be unable to.

posted a message on What's your Pet Peeve about Minecraft ?

    For me mine would be:

    • Unable to launch the launcher without an internet connection if the incorrect settings are set in the Microsoft Store.
    • Endermen teleporting onto crops can break them..
    • Sign and item name censorship.
    • Minor feature differences between Java and Bedrock editions.
    • People taking stuff without asking.
    • Griefing other people's structures.

posted a message on Why is there crazy steves in the next-first version of minecraft?
    Quote from Jan_Dandelion»

Those are "Humans" or "Mobs" (here's the wiki article about them) They exist only in these very very earliest versions of Minecraft (before it was even called Minecraft!). They were the very first mob ever added to the game, so I guess the reason they are there is because Notch was creating and testing code needed for all mobs that the game has today.

To add onto this they remained in the game files for a while afterwards too. I remember spawning them in around Beta 1.7.3 before they were removed entirely.

Rather than an additional structure I think dungeons are in desperate need of an overhaul at some point instead. Replaced with a larger structure with a few traps thrown in would probably suffice.

posted a message on Skeleton Wolves from Minecraft Earth

I think the skeleton wolves from Minecraft Earth would be a fitting addition with the recent expansion of wolves and different breeds that are being added with the Trial Chambers update.

A way they could be implemented is as a rare spawn similar to the Skeleton Trap Horse where a lone skeleton wielding a crossbow and wearing Prot IV armor is accompanied by a pack of six armored skeleton wolves.

If the crossbow skeleton is slain then skeleton wolves will become passive to the player. A way to convey this change could be for the skeleton wolves to have a visible potion (mind control?) effect emanating from them that disappears once their skeleton master is slain.

In combat the crossbow skeleton will hang back and provide ranged support to it's pack with enchanted potion of damage arrows, while the skeleton wolves will attempt to swarm their target. The damage effect will prevent friendly fire, and make the encounter harder.

I think this would be a neat but challenging optional encounter that would reward players who come out victorious with a cool and very rare breed of wolve.

While it's likely too late to squeeze them in with the Trial Chambers update for skeleton wolves to be added alongside the other new breeds of wolves maybe it would make for a neat Halloween update. Thoughts?

I think this would be fun so long as he doesn't grief/ alter the world. Just watching in the distance or at the end of caves or something stalk-ish.

Our boy wants a Kaiju to be added into the game lmao. Some kind of big boss fight down in the darkness zone would be cool, but what you're suggesting is far too powerful.

posted a message on Decorative Lighting Source

Glowing crystals sounds fun. I'd absolutely use glowing crystal clusters. +Support

    Quote from ScotsMiser»

OK, but what does it do?

What is an amythyst crystal? [The closest I could find would be either the shard or the block.]

    What light level is emitted?

What size is the block? (and, Does it have a collision mask?)

What restrictions (if any) on placement?

Does the light have any special effects (e.g soul lanterns repelling piglins)?

It's just decoration. I think the same light level as Glowstone would be just fine, so they're visually pleasing, but not rendered non-functional like soul torches due to their low light level.

posted a message on The Small Suggestions Thread: Electric Boogaloo

Disallow Endermen from smashing crops when they teleport. I built a huge field outside my house to create a nice view and each morning the moment the sun comes up they start rapidly teleporting and smashing my field, so every morning I have to go out and repair the damage they caused.

    posted a message on Blueprints?

If I'm understanding you correctly you want the capability for players to create a share-able "blueprint" that you place and fill with the required blocks to reconstruct it without placing having to place the blocks ourselves? That would actually be super cool! There's been several huge redstone machines I'd love to create, but are honestly far too complex for me to recreate even if I had a copy of it up side by side. I'm all for this.
