I'm experiencing the same problem, but luckely found a workaround:
"Update failed for: LICENSE, Error: The system cannot move the file to a different disk drive."
By moving your installation of Minecraft (all contents of the folder where Minecraft.exe is located) to (in your case) somewhere on your "C:" drive, the launcher should continue updating the runtime environment without problems (the new folder name can be named anything you like).
optional: After updating, you may move the updated files back to their original location.
Hopefully Microsoft/Mojang issues a launcher (Bootstrap) fix soon.
I don't like the forced idea/concept to install everything on/to the System drive...
Been running a CraftBukkit server for years without problems. Then 1.7.2 came out and tried to host a vanilla server, but everyone complained about lag and the console often spams that it can't keep up and skipped x ticks because it's running behind x amount of time.
Really odd/frustrating, and i can't figure out why this is hapening whereas with CraftBukkit everything was fine and dandy.
Is there a way give someone a book you wrote through commands?
Like so?
/give @p 387 1 1 {author:Bob,title:"More about stuff ",pages:["So this is page 1","This happens to be page 2","And this is page 3"]}
/give @p minecraft:written_book 1 1 {author:Bob,title:"More about stuff ",pages:["So this is page 1","This happens to be page 2","And this is page 3"]}
About PVP: Is it possible to make it so that PVP players can't hit players that aren't in the PVP team?
With CraftBukkit PVP mods both parties have to have PvP enabled before they can hit/damage each other,
but with the (vanilla Minecraft) scoreboard teams function, PvP players can even hit/damage players that aren't in a PvP team =/
I'm afraid this is one of those error-by-design limitations.
The hopper gives the /testfor command block a pulse every few ticks so that it is updated. The way testfor works is that when the command block receives a redstone signal, it will emit a redstone signal via comparator if the testfor is true. If not, it will not emit anything. But if it is true, the redstone signal will continue to be outputted until the testfor is updated by the hopper clock and the testfor is true. Thanks, but i was basically looking for a (step-by-step) tutorial, how to set everything up ;-)
I've found another method that worked for me, here
but i thought yours was more up-to-date. The only problem i have is that it keeps teleporting me.
You can look for free Dynamic DNS/subdomain-services such as noip and freedns.
Then simply give the hostname address and people don't need to keep coming back ask for your current ip address ;-)
Hmm, why do some mod instructions say you have to delete the whole meta-inf folder whereas others say you only need to delete the mojang files in it? I usually delete the whole folder (confused)

Mojang took a ridiculous move though, they might as well deprecate the "Open to LAN" now..
