I wouldn't think that real life sciences would apply to Minecraft, after all, you have dragons, floating islands, Creepers, and other things that aren't possible in real life.

Even in a fantasy game you want some logical structure. Realism is fine as long as it doesn't affect gameplay or dampen any experience or theme a game has. The idea is fine only for the actual metals.

I think it's best dropping this whole 'Minecraft 2!!!' thing. I mean the entirety of the idea isn't even finished so it's hard to support this. Making a sequel to bring back players doesn't always work the way people like to assume it does. I mean look at Mass Effect: Andromeda. I know that's a harsh comparison, but more doesn't always equal better.

I'm just not understanding the energy being put into this. Having a better game engine was a decent idea in its own right, but this thread is basically about "sum cool stuff" where most of those don't even belong in Minecraft anyway. No matter what direction I mentally approach this from, I just can't see the reason for a Minecraft 2. Not only is it a dead concept, but it's been proven why it's never needed in many other threads.

I don't want to jump on the negative bandwagon, but if shaders and reflections are that important to me. I'll just go get me a mod. Why does this require an entirely new game? This is why you won't see a Garry's Mod 2 or Dwarf Fortress 2. These are the kind of games where one is more than enough. No need to reinvent the wheel just to make it look shiner or have a "2" slapped on it. How many 'parts' does this suggestion have?

I know I'm taking a risk with this kind of format. However, I don't think I need to get 100% support for this suggestion to be successful. Like an actual video game, no one is going to like everything. In addition, this suggestion isn't complete, and very little of it is just going to be someone else's idea (in fact, the only suggestion I think I'm going to be using is cubic chunks).

The problem isn't so much the support, it's just the necessity of the core idea. The best reasoning behind it is "well people are getting bored of the first game so this will bring people back!!" which is a shallow, cop-outish and mildly naive line of thinking.

Why do we want this? This is all very rushed, unfitting and overall goofy. A "thug" villager? No thanks. Don't see a reason for any of this weird stuff. I do not support.

The fact that you have to put "it's not that bad" in your sig for this idea should tell you that the idea doesn't have that many good legs to stand on...

Uh what is it that I'm supporting? Just the new engine? The other things you brought up or not something that need a sequel to exist. A game being old is also much not of a reason either.

Mojang doesn't come here, so talking to them "directly" on here is pointless. There's no suggestion here and hackers probably won't go away. People will always find a way around something.

Both oxford's and cambridge's dicts' definition are vague enough to leave room for a subjective interpretation of what could be considered challenging and what not. And now you're giving me the dirt for not sharing your opinion, for thinking being the first to get the egg is a challenge.

Fighting the dragon is a challenge. Crossing your fingers and hoping the egg falls in your inventory first is not. I don't care what your view is, that's just a solid nope. Regardless, Mojang would get a lot of backlash if they gave the egg a use and left it a one-player-only item. That's just bad decision making.

You may not support this idea but...

    Although this may be stupid.

Probably not the best way to begin a suggestion.

Can you add that ocelots will kill any creeper on sight?

And if you tame a cat and hit a creeper, the cat will attack it.

The cat would just be walking into a suicide mission. There's a reason why other mobs don't attack creepers. So provoked creepers don't leave "self-defense craters" everywhere.

Good idea, maybe you should post this to reddit

I don't think the idea is ready for reddit. The suggestion is a bit all over the place and random. I don't see the point in the redstone part, and sounds like it can annoyingly mess with some circuits.

posted a message on Guidelines for the Suggestions Forum

Could we implement some sort of pop-up system that tells the new kids that they're about to post in an ancient thread? Which isn't a crime on it's own, but there's still those not-smart posters that say stuff like "loool I agreee" on threads that were made in like 2011.

Also, this is literally the only forum I've ever been on that has some sort of awkward "troll protection". Non-trolls get punished more than the actual trolls. That's pretty sadly impressive.

    Quote from coolcat430»

The unique part about it is that unlike the other spiders, which crawl on walls only to chase players or when pushed onto them, the Critters crawl on the walls (and ceiling, which other spiders don't) as if they were just normal floors, and to be a bit more mobile when pursuing players.

That's exactly what led me to my original point. It's cheap to add yet a third spider in the game just for that purpose. This might work better as a completely original mob.

I don't understand why so many people want more golems. Being able to make these things for yourself sounds very not balanced. An iron golem is good enough help.

If a Critter (not the greatest) name has proper climbing animations, the two spiders should have this as well. This isn't too different from a normal spider so this being a brand new mob just for that one feature isn't really worth it. Not sure how I feel about an unkillable mob, I'm 50/50 on that. The ancients are fine.
