    If you don't mind using stolen code, sure.

    The code isn't stolen, stop lying. If anyone stole code it was MDR back when this mod was first made. He stole code from a player named Telgar. I know, I was here back then and heard about it. MDR even has a spoiler about it in his first post.

    1/- Yes, just keep on with the instructions by modifying the sources and then recompiling ==> reobfuscating
    2/- You don't have the right to distribute ModLoader, just tell those who are going to download your mod to install ModLoader v5 and give a link to this topic, they should know what to do.

    Recap : You finish the steps mentioned in my other post, you ignore enable_modloader.bat, you modify the sources, you compile, you test your mod by starting test_game.bat (not test_modloader) and if you've got it all right 'til now, you run deobf.bat after setting the conf file as it's explained in the readme :smile.gif:

    Excellent! I wish everyone would explain things so well. To be honest i didn't think i had read the part about adding the modloader files to your mod correctly. Or i read it correctly and it is just not worded well. I believe that statement refers to testing your mod with test_modloader.bat. It didn't sound right to add modloader to my released mod. Thank you for clarifying that for me.

    Armed with your excellent instructions i am off to make my mod compatible with modloader v5. Thank you again for your help CJ2311. It is truly appreciated. =)

    Well the mapping is the part that has to be added to minecraft.rgs (the code I sent you also includes the spawnlist's mapping btw)
    Also, simply following these instructions is sufficient, in fact when you run enable_Modloader.bat it basically does all these steps but automatically, and using ML 1.3_01v3/4

    I see, basically this does what running enable_Modloader.bat does. So after that i would simply do what i would had i actually ran enable_Modloader.bat. Since i've already decompiled using decompile.bat, the next step would be to edit the source file(s) to create my mod. Run recompile.bat then run reobf.bat. Making sure i have added the edited source file(s) to client_obfuscation.txt, leaving out of course the modloader files.

    Is that correct? Because it sounds so simple when put like that and following your instructions. =D

    Thanks again for your speedy reply and help! If the above is correct i can finish this up tonight. I will be looking forward to your reponse. Much appreciated sir. =)

    EDIT: Also do i offer the modloader with my mod? Or do i just package up my mod leaving out modloader. I ask this because in the Modloader readme.txt that comes with MCP it says to add the Modloader files.

    The actual wording is, "Now take the release of modloader from Risugami and use those class files with your mod."

    I just want to make sure that is cool to do. Probably another noob question but hey I'm learning. =)

    Hi guys,

    I created a mod and i was wondering if someone could tell me how to make it modloader 5 compatible. I am using the latest MCP to make the mod. MCP29a has modloader support but i believe only for modloader 4. Maybe someone can point me in the direction of a tutorial or a post. I did check out Simo_415's, "make a mod modloader compatible" tutorial, but it is outdated. It was written for minecraft beta 1.2_02 i believe. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Open your conf/minecraft.rgs, add the following lines at the start, after the .option lines:
    .method;private ModLoader/* *
    .class ModLoader protected
    .field;private ModLoader/* *

    .class BaseMod protected
    .method;private BaseMod/* *
    .field;private BaseMod/* *

    .class spawnlist protected
    .method;private spawnlist/* *
    .field;private spawnlist/* *

    Add modloader to your minecraft.jar. Put it you know where.

    Decompile. Ignore the HUNK failed message about RenderBlocks.

    Open ChunkProviderLoadOrGenerate, navigate to saveChunks, you'll see:
    < chunkLoader.saveChunk(worldObj, chunk);

    make it so it looks like

    > try {
    > chunkLoader.saveChunk(worldObj, chunk);
    > } catch (Exception e) {}

    Wow great response and the instructions are very clear. Thank you so much! =)

    I have a couple questions i am confused about. In the MCP ModLoader readme it says not to include Modloader in the jar files you want to decompile. It also talks about running enable_Modloader.bat. I realize this is all for Modloader v4 support in MCP.

    My questions are, after i follow your instructions, do i still run enable_Modloader.bat? Do i add the Modloader v5 files to my mod release or is my mod compiled to work with Modloader v5 and the player downloads Modloader himself?

    What exactly do i need to do after i follow your instructions to make the mod compatible with Modloader v5?

    I'm sorry for being such a noob but I'm just not sure what to do after i follow your instructions. Do i compile my mod after i follow them and it is then compatible? I did just notice after my first post for help that Risugami has a MCP Mapping link with his Modloader download. I looked at it but without your instructions i would have been lost anyway. Thanks again for helping me CJ2311. It is much appreciated. =)

    @hawk,

    Why would you quote the whole OP? Why? Your first post and you do that. If this was my thread, i would be upset by that. Totally uncalled for. You should edit and remove it.

    @DrZhark, great job on the update. Love the new dolphins. Love the mod. Fantastic work as usual.

    posted a message on Help request. How to change back to default skin?
    Thanks for answering. I appreciate it.

    I don't want to use the actual default skin. I want to use a higher resolution skin i made. I can't upload it to minecraft.net because it is a bigger size then default. Default is like 64x32 and the skin i want to use is 128x64 How do i make it to where my skin is retrieved from the minecraft.jar file instead of from minecraft.net.

    I take it you're purposefully ignoring everyone who would want the boomerang and shield by themselves? That's a bit bossy. "Get rid of all of your old mods, replace World 3, and you can have these things along with the rest of the dungeon mod."

    Rather than just the shield and boomerang, which are perfect additions to normal Minecraft.

    I didn't get rid of all my mods. I simply used a backup copy of minecraft.jar to install Cryect's mod. It is easy to switch back and forth. For the save i just renamed world3 and put cyrect's world3 folder in saves. No need to lose anything. Their his mods. He can distribute them as he wants.

    Cryect, great mod! I can't wait to see what you come up with next. Thanks!

    Obviously Crowvo is correct. Otherwise you would not have felt the need to edit, reword your original post. You would have stuck to your guns and let it stand as posted.

    @MiracleMouse,

    I agree with you implicitly on all points. It is indeed a losing battle. Sadly, there will always be those who feel the need to stroke their epeen at the expense of others. I believe my point has been made and since i don't believe in beating a dead horse. I shall therefore yield and retire from the field in an honorable manner. I will no longer post or reply to posts in this thread. Thank you. =)
