Is this project still under development, or have IRL responsibilities taken you away? :(

For some odd reason, I never got a notification about your reply here! I swear, I check this website every few days, and never got anything. Sorry about that!

Yeah, the project is still under development, but is temporarily put on hiatus - and diminished. Basically, what I'm planning will take so long that I won't be done within one Minecraft update, and with 1.8 breaking a lot of the map... I decided to wait until a more stable version of the game is out (a.k.a when it stops big content updates). With how high up I was shooting with this, I decided to also concentrate specifically on the Prince of Paranoia, which turned from a puzzle/adventure map into a puzzle/novel map, for people who like a good story. Definitely different, but it IS looking good! :P It won't be out anytime soon, alas, so that much will be on the backburner until the game stops its updates that break everything in maps.

Heck it's been forever since I've been on these forums. Yes his real life responsibilities are definitely, "in the way." For now at least. I just commented on one of his videos and I may be able to revive the project and release the second map if he lets me, there isn't all that much to add on, and if I can.

I've recently upgraded from a Mac to a desktop PC. It's great! I will not be posting on this forum again unless it is associated with the Prince of Paranoia. To be honest I've moved away from MC and I don't plan to do much. I am on my old laptop right now and I will be looking into what I have on here in terms of MC and if it is useful for PoP.

If you'd like to follow me in my endeavors, failures, and other activities you can find me on Youtube. (www.youtube.com/TheSniperWho) I'll most likely be playing DCUO. You can also find me on the DCOU Forums. Check the channel if you want to find me on those forums...

I remember you mentioned the forum earlier on Youtube, and I hadn't checked it for a few days, so I didn't know about this reply! Yeah, you pretty much know how it is by now - the project changed a lot and looks nothing like it did in the last preview I made (mainly because I felt like it reused too much of the same stuff and didn't feel fun to me - wouldn't want to release it and bore people with it!). If I ever need help, and you have any interest in the game at all, then cool! Otherwise, just look forward to hearing about it once the game stabilizes~

I haven't messed with the main post in a long while, so I'm not sure if it would look better now or not, but maybe one of these days! Also, been working on Minecraft stuff, but only slowly on my next map. I've mostly been building stuff freely to see where that goes, so maybe eventually I'll make a map filled with builds and no adventure... who knows!

That's very unfotrunate ?! Ah, how these forums have changed! I laugh at these silly new rules. The forums are very reminiscent of the CoD franchise - only changes for the worst! I think today's update to the website is really bad, and I mock it wholeheartedly!

    Also, cats are great. Hmph.

for better i'd say a few more things in the main world to mess around with and maybe a few more puzzles.
for what i liked the most i'd say the rollercoster, the 100 trials and some of the buildings in the main world. plus some cool puzzle)
for the least. cold hell and the nether maze (though rick astly made the maze worth it XD)
something i would of liked to see is... more bubble man. i got nothing. maybe more easter eggs?.
and i do agree with you that i felt my score was a little too high though the map is quite dear to my heart.
also i would of never expected you to reply to my review :|

I'm just some guy that likes playing Minecraft and making maps - of course I reply to reviews! :P But ah, I like hearing that more stuff to mess with and more puzzles would be appreciated, because those are already planned for the next one. The mazes, I'll try to avoid those - unless they're fairly unique or not too tough, haha. And references/Easter eggs? You'll get those for sure!

Oh, and this is a little preview for my favorite part of the next map so far. I felt like I haven't posted enough screenshots of the next map to motivate myself to work more on it, haha. And you can consider it a reward for commenting and bringing feedback! :D

Alrighty. I'm probably gonna sound like a big loser for saying this (especially if you've read my other map reviews) but im gonna go with this map being a solid 10/10. or a 9/10. deffo 10. why did i chose ten? because the map is fun, quite funny, challenging, and quite repayable. as of now I've played the map maybe 5 times? and each time i do better (or worse) at getting those saddles (and leather). I'd say my big problem (like with most adventure maps) is that near the end (SPOILER ALERT:NETHER) the map kinda started to slow down but then again, that always happens to me when i play a map. otherwise yeah... 10/10
did i mention that its FUUUUUN?

Haha, first lil' review in a while! Glad you liked the map a lot, and I'm surprised you played it that many times! I thought I'd be the only one who would ever play it more than once, haha. (Granted, I had to test it, but still!) Of course, I'd disagree with a 10 out of 10, and even a 9 sounds a bit too high - but that's probably because I'm aiming to make the prequel even better, and I don't want to try beating such a high score, haha. What would you say would have made the map better? I can ask you, seeing how you played it multiple times and could probably answer better than some others. :P What did you like the most, and what did you like the least? And what would you have wanted to see? That might influence my next map. ^_^

posted a message on Minecraft Movie?
Although I'm not much of a movie guy, I'd probably be interested to see that happening. I can understand people not being interested in one, but at the same time, it's not like anyone's gonna be forced to see it - so there's no real downside to having one. Animated would probably be best, due to the game's style and all, and it better be more than a simple "this is Steve, he builds a house, he finds diamonds, he goes to the nether, he finds a stronghold, he kills the ender dragon" kind of deal - that's the one thing I'd be afraid of. If the people behind the movie would take the time to see fan-content first and foremost, they'd quickly find out that it has been done enough that more representations of the game's storyline are not very necessary, haha. Not on that kind of budget, anyway.

As long as it'd be an original story set in the game's world, I'd be pretty okay with it.

Haha, that's a thing that happens. :P Fun fact, though: that particular Charlotte build will be used as a map in the Hive's Herobrine Version 2 Minigame (the server that hosts games such as Hide and Seek, Cowboys and Indians and Splegg), so people will get to see that one much before the map comes out. Should be fun!

    Final version? No chance

A lot of games that updated lots like Minecraft ended up getting their final versions and were left at the community's hands. :P Sure, they're still adding stuff, but it can't go on forever - I give them three years max before they call it final, hehe.

I plan on making a video series on this map. Unfortunately, my mic is broken, I'll make more videos as soon as I get a new one!

As much as this is appreciated, don't worry too much about it right now :P The project became a bit smaller over time, and will take quite a bit longer than expected. You can put the blame on university being more complicated than anticipated, unfortunately.

Did I hear right? Was the song during the boss battle Papermoon from Soul Eater? I thought it sounded familiar... and there are reaper chop hands on the sides....

Well, considering the Jim Reaper's visual designed is based on Shinigami-sama, and the moon and sun are both straight out of Soul Eater... I'd say the odds are pretty good! :P

A Sequel to this would be awesome since we now have: The Lost Potato - Part: 3.
    It'll steal your glory :3

I have no plans to make a sequel to this map, haha. The story leaves no place for it, so I'd rather not force a sequel out of thin air. :P That's how bad sequels happen. And I was never trying to rival any map, nor get glory! I was satisfied back when I had barely two or three playthroughs of the map during its first week, haha.

Besides, the sequel to Monarch of Madness will be more fitting and worthwhile, so expect that instead. :P

    Quote from Acegickmo

Your still working on the project, right?

Yep, except, not at the moment. I took a short break because of College (which ended up being tougher than I had expected), but I'll try my best to work on it once in a while. I wouldn't be surprised at this point if I decided to get it all done for July 1st 2014, or July 1st of the year after that...

After all, both of my good maps came out on that date, so it'd be fitting to keep releasing maps on that very fateful day. Waiting that long would also give Minecraft time to update, and possibly release its final version! That would definitely make mapmaking a whole lot easier to manage.

This makes no sence and is not correct terminogiy as to what a megabyte and gigabyte are, see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megabyte . But you must mean the person downloads the map(s) then uses whatever technique to extract the level layout then reporduces it in a map that he(she) has labeled their own. But back on topic.

Great map OP. my friend and I had a score of 86 didn't 'cap' it tho.

Haha, I'm no professional on the subject, so I'm probably wrong, yes. But I make maps even if I don't understand everything I talk about! :P That might bite me in the butt later on, but oh well.

86 is a pretty good score regardless! It means you took the time to grab the Soul Gems. :D

    Nice map! Review time!

Mystery of the Pumpkin Castle by The_Forgotten

    Gameplay- 4
The gameplay on here was simply wonderful. I did enjoy the start, getting some info on the town. There was a lot of mob fighting, a really nice story, and even a final boss!(this is one of the only maps I have played with an actual boss fight at the end). Overall, very nice work here!

    Detail- 4
The detail is just amazing. Insane builds(team variede or hypixel level), Well thought-out, and it even has a custom texture pack! Very nice details in here. Also loved the final boss battle music. I honestly can't think of anything that you can do better here. I mean just look at just one screenshot of this map and tell me I'm wrong.

    Storyline- 3.5
The story was great. I like how(unlike most other maps I have reviewed) you keep the story going throughout the entire map. Nice comedy mixed in, and you get this masterpiece. The only flaw I could find was that you did give a choice at the end, but it was kind of forced one way at the end.

    Difficulty- 2.5
The difficulty needs work. A lot. Not only did I almost run completely out of swords, but there are a LOT of spawners everywhere. I did think that the finale was well-balanced, but other than that, I got my butt handed to me. A lot.

    Mechanics- 3
Very simple mechanics, but they do get the job done very well. No bugs to it, nice checkpoint system, and overall just an epic map. The only flaw I could find is that, while the mechanics do get the job done, they need some specialty(something that sets your map apart(the firework rocket attacks in herobrine's return, for example)).

    Overall score- 4+4+3.5+2.5+3=17=Fantastic
This really deserves the attention it gets. Very nice builds, good story, and nice gameplay. The only downside is that difficulty level. Diamonds to you, man.

Also, at the end, it says to go left to play it in a new gamemode, but I can't figure out what to do. U know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks for the review, it speaks the truth and is very much appreciated. :D The difficulty is definitely something I've been told about many times, along with the length being perhaps a tad too short for some players. I'll work on those a bit more for the next map, haha.

As for the "new gamemode", it was something I wanted to add during the month of August, but multiple real life events occurred all at once, preventing me to add it by making me lose motivation. At this point, I'd rather just work on university assignments and the next map, haha. I'm glad you enjoyed what you played, though!

I really enjoyed playing this map, but do you think that there could be a sequel made for next Halloween? Oh yeah and here is a screen-shot of my final score! :Dhttp://imgur.com/DYN6NMV (Click the link for final score!)

Well, I made this one mostly in March and released it in June, so it wasn't really released for Halloween, haha. But once my next map is over, I have no idea if I'll make more or not. We'll see! As for your score, that's good! Two and (almost) a half stacks is very nice!
