The_Blocky_Gamer posted a message on Simple Ways To Get Introduced To Computing?

For the longest time, I've been interested in making computers in Minecraft. I've always seen the huge computers you see every now and then and wanted to build one. So, instead of being lazy as always, I looked up a couple videos on YouTube on how to build a computer in MC, but got pretty lost.

So is there like any things I should be understanding first? Or is there a guide that is easy to follow?

    Thanks in advance

I also agree. Everything these days is just command blocks, command blocks, command blocks, all because SethBling and other redstoners do it.

I personally do a lot of redstone projects in survival, mostly based upon EthosLab's videos. For example, I made a giant 5 layer 16x16 chunk wheat farm.

Go to level 5 (use a map to check), and start digging out a large area which is 3 blocks high, and least covers a single 16x16, at the least. Also, (I'm not completely sure) you can use an app called slime chunk finder or something.

Now that's what you call an insanely epic excavation. You have so much dedication, pickaxes, diamonds, patience, shovels, food, resources, wither skeleton skulls (those are beacons right?), wood, cobblestone, dirt, sand, ores, gravel and about 19 other things I'm too lazy to mention or search.

All hail the All-mighty Deity of Minecraft Mining and Excavation.

On a side note, what's that flying cobblestone (if true) cube on the right of the picture? Sorry if someone else has posted this before.

DrWeegee posted a message on Let Creepers Render Armor!

Hello, before you get a bit confused... I just want to say that survival mode will not be affected!
What this means is that Creepers will not spawn naturally with armor, or pick up armor. Ever.
This would only happen if map-makers equip Creepers with armor via commands.

    Ok, to the suggestion!

    Why am I suggesting this?
Because the armor is able to render perfectly on them. I found out how it looks when making this.

While I do not have any adventure maps, I know a great part of many adventure maps is custom mobs.

This ranges from equipping mobs with colored armor, custom player heads, and even banners!

The problem is, Creepers cannot render any of that! So they are left out, and look bare standing next to his friend, Mr.Coolios the zombie:

He looks more sad than usual. :(

BUT, if we let Mr.Creeper render armor, he can look really cool like his zombie friend.

    Rendering the armor

    Alright, now to the suggestion...

Most of the armor should be able to render. The only exception being the legging, because, well...

Creepers don't exactly have legs... Also, Creepers have 4 feet, but a pair of boots only has 2 boots.

I don't think we need a solution to that problem as Creepers will not pick up armor, so you will not see two boots magically duplicate into four boots when roaming around.

    Survival, and what's affected
Nothing! This suggestion would affect adventure maps, and adventure maps only. Creepers will never on any difficulty spawn naturally with armor like Skeletons or Zombies, 'nor will they ever pick up any armor pieces. Unless you're playing a world where a map maker (or yourself) has modified the world to spawn Creepers with armor via commands, you will never see one with armor in your world.

Creepers already have an armor layer?
Something brought up in the comments was that Creepers already have an armor layer. This armor layer is the blue electrical aura around Charged Creepers. While it doesn't add any defense it is considered an armor layer. This actually isn't a problem at all! You see, that layer is so big, that it will actually render OVER any equipped armor that a Creeper may have been summoned with. And in one of the 1.8 releases, a bug fix (Doesn't seem to be fixed now?)

was made for a rendering issue related to armor and the charged layer... So there's no issue...

(I don't think, I'm confused, the charged Creeper below clearly shows it's fixed, but now when I try it, it's not, and I'm using the same versions)

Defense on Creepers would make them too OP!
Maybe. I consider this mainly an opinion, but I still have a fix for it. Adventure map makers have control over many aspects of many mobs, including Creepers. One of those is the Creeper's health. If you wish to allow weapons to kill Creepers in the same amount of hits, you can lower their health to balance everything out.

Still not convinced? I have some proof of concept pictures for display!
I'm sure you want to see what this would actually look like, and below are some examples of how creative you can get with this, but these are only basic examples. Yes, you can customize this even more!

    -

This one was made by: Techy4198,
This shows what Armor on Creepers would look like without the shoulder pads. It's a small change, but has a big difference. Thanks for the picture!
    -

    TL;DR people
Post isn't that long, so go read it. :U

And for those who think OP Creepers are a problem, or they equip armor read this:

    Quote from DrWeegee123»

I don't want them to spawn with armor. 'Nor did I come up with this suggestion to make them more defensive. Only to be able to wear it via commands. That way adventure map makers could customize them. If armor is a problem, they can lower their health to even it out. They will NOT put it on or naturally spawn with it.
Creepers are easy to deal with, anyways.

So, what do you think? Do you support, do you have any feedback? Do you not support? If so why? Please post in the comments and vote in the poll your opinions!

    Many thanks.

Edit: On a side note, if you're wondering why i'm exaggerating the whole "They don't spawn with armor thing" is because many people are still confused about it.

Barbershop666 posted a message on City-Sized-Mansion Estate Project. All natural blocks eliminated, Bedrock to Sky

So ever since I started playing I had began to conceive of a city-sized palace erected mainly for functionality, filling it at minimum with every conceivable automated process of acquiring items that I could, and the rest for artistry, fun, etc. It began with the idea I had for the core of the establishment that would involve having options to go either to the nether or the end quite simply, that the portals are right next to eachother. This journal will illustrate my progress with the project and where I am with it.

It began with a concept of three things: beacon beams, nether portal, and an end portal. This was soon after I had just read about beacons and began to learn about them. One thing I want about this place is that its actually multi-dimensional, and that beacon beams establish the center of the structure within each dimension, so I decided that covering 3 different mineral blocks for each pyramid that supports the beacons to represent each dimension would be cool. Diamond Blocks (And Iron Blocks in the surrounding beacon beam pyramid structures) for the Overworld, Gold Blocks for the Nether dimension, and Emerald blocks for The End.

So this project began with establishing that core, of which I first legitimately mined the diamonds required to build the pyramid to support the 6 beacon effects/beams that would establish the center of the Overworld segment. That's right, I spent weeks mining over 2000 diamonds merely for an aesthetic concept. Am I crazy? Maybe. We'll see.

This was the next part of the concept of the core of the structure I'm building. The beacon beams shine through the end portal, because I thought that would be really cool. I think the concept turned out neatly, in addition to this 3x3 area that represents the center of the square.

The next part of the process involved digging out all the stone and stronghold that occupied the area around this 3x3 square from which the beacon beams and end portal resides. They look really pretty at night. One vexation was that in my world, my portal had missed taiga generation by only 20 blocks or so, which sucks because it would've looked so beautiful during snowfall. That entire concept was eradicated by a further frustration, however, when in the update to 1.7, minecraft changed all taiga biomes into non-snowing biomes, and added snowy taiga, effectively making all previous 1.6 taiga biomes depressing places when it rains over all the snow that exists from the snowfall they experienced in 1.6. Bad move, Mojang.

As you can see here, much terraforming work has already been completed. I was not thorough in taking screenshots for all my progress, but all that gravel and sand that you can see obviously used to be ocean, filled in by gravity-blocks. The hoppers were my failed attempt at a vanilla chunk loader for an infinite obsidian machine to update the end portal continuously.

Now, this swirly structure in the center happened quite by accident. I got the idea for it in a dream, woke up all groggy, and decided to start building it. Took me about 45 minutes, and was surprised by what I had at the end. The packed ice really came in handy because it looked awesome, glad I had gone hunting for rare 1.7 biomes the day before.

A view of the core from the inside, looking up.

A look inside the core, looking down into the end portal. Ignore the chest, it contains snowballs for my infinite obsidian generator, once I've gotten a ton of double chests of it, I'm just going to clear all that redstone around there out. I chose the stained glass because it looks very futuristic, just behind me is the nether portal.

You can either choose to enter the nether dimension of the city-mansion through that portal, or walk through it, fall through this hole, with which vines stop your fall, and puts you into The End dimension of the multidimensional structure I'm building.

A final version of the bedrock level of the core. Redstone lamps are hidden under those sections of black wool carpet, rest are coal blocks. Added the additional light because there's a slime chunk in here, I keep finding slimes bouncing around down here when I come down. Apparently its still not enough lighting. Will consider a solution later.

I've taken many breaks during different phases of this project to build other things, and when my friend started taming horses en-masse from a plains biome we discovered that had well over 50 horses, I decided to create this general horse field, and through taming/breeding create all 35 permutations of horse variants. Next to it you can see an oak tree farm with a field of hoppers under it designed to capture all apples. Both of these things right next to the land marked for digging to bedrock to free up all space to begin building.

I wasn't sure how far out I was going to mark and dig completely to bedrock, the land centered around the core. I decided to make it slightly ambitious in my own view and do a 200x200 area marked out in the pictures of below. I had marked this out a long time ago, cleared out all trees a long time ago, and eliminated the ocean/river sections within this marked out space quite a while ago. No pictures of that progress, but you can see me eliminating the natural dirt, and the sand I used to eliminate the water in the progress below.

After the dirt was cleared, I realized that the beacon effects emanating from the core weren't enough to cover the entire area with Haste 2, the power I need in combination with Efficiency V that allows Stone to be mined spontaneously, like you can do with dirt and efficiency IV diamond shovels. I needed 4 more beacon pyramids, and wanted them to give you all powers just like the center one does.

Unfortunately, since the showmonsters mod hasn't been updated to 1.7 yet, and I really wanted to get this project on the road, I decided to run around a nether fortress and only acquire 12 wither skulls without creating a wither skeleton farm (yet) so I can have 4 beacons that covers the rest of the area with haste 2 so that we can mine with the benefits of that power in the entire area.

Thanks to some help from some guys here on the forum, I figured out something I should've known months ago, Anvil mechanics. I calculated how many more pickaxes with Unbreaking III it was going to take to get myself to bedrock, which was something around 320 diamond pickaxes that I would have to fully enchant. Fortunately, now that I know that the repair cost of a pickaxes freezes when you rename it, I found that you can repair Efficiency V Unbreaking III pickaxes while keeping the enchantment. So instead of making 320 individual enchanted pickaxes, I'll be restoring the same double chest of Efficiency V Unbreaking III diamond pickaxes you see here, around 6 times. Then I'll be at bedrock level, which is great. I restored the entire chest today, it only took 5 or 6 hours, and that's great. These next pictures depict my progress this week and last week of digging through the stone.

And for those of you who will say that you can see I'm cheating because you can see that I'm in creative mode for a lot of these screenshots, calm yourself, I don't. I'm a mod on the server I play on, I switch into creative mode when I want to fly up and get a good shot of what I'm building, and thats it. I'm going to cut that habit out and just pillar up from now on, though. This will be continually updated.

    UPDATE

Its only subtly revealed, but I have been reaching many levels of the stronghold by now, and have eliminated the top of it. You can see by those moss stone bricks and random doors in the area. I added a massive item elevator nearly 100 blocks high that transports all my full loads into storage so that I'm not going up that ladder, across the bridge, and up the stairs every time. I'm at y:30 now, I had been hitting just iron and coal forever, I have just started to touch lapiz lazuli and gold ore, which is really exciting.

    UPDATE

I'm at y:20 now. Just erased the last traces of the floors of the lowest levels of the stronghold. RIP

A picture of my pickaxes when they're spent, and require a trip to the exp farm to refresh. Costs me 162 diamonds every time to refresh, but I think this is the last tool restoring trip I need to take before I reach the bottom. I'm so close now! This is also the very first round where I didn't accidentally break any of them.

    UPDATE

y:12. I've exposed the bottom overworld lava ponds, my outer-beacon pyramids, and the base of the core. There's a double slime chunk outlined, and dug to bedrock on the left, that I'm going to turn into a slime farm. Bedrock is just around the corner . . .

    UPDATE

Bedrock looks interesting from this high up. Its like you were playing minesweeper and you just lost.

So yeah, I'm done. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some hardcore sorting to do.

    UPDATE

So I finished sorting. There are 512 double chests here.

    64x54 = 3456 cobblestone per double chest.

    3456x512 = 1,769,472 cobblestone

After that, I got started working on the floor. I used a slime chunk locator, and marked out the chunks. I then cleared all the stone/dirt/sand/lava within the tangled bedrock, and replaced it with green glass, (to match slimes :) so that the floor is now spawnproof from slimes during the day. The double chunk on the left I will make into a slime farm.

Next will be the rest of the floor, the same process. Making it completely spawn proof, but with a different colored glass. I think I've decided on red glass. I'll get started on that tomorrow, going to sleep for now.

    BIG UPDATE.

I know its been a while since I've updated this, but trust me, I haven't stopped on the project. A LOT has happened.

First, I began ripping the stone, sand, gravel, dirt, and occasional lava out of the pockets that they resided in until there was nothing but bedrock. Then, when an entire horizontal section was completed, I'd fill the top layer with glass to make a bedrock/glass spawnproof basement floor.

I hated this work the most because it was monotonous and much more difficult than the previous removal of stone I was experiencing. But after a few days of hard work, and a revamping of the external beacon pyramids, the finished product was finally here.

I took a break for a few days after that, and came back with a much bigger goal than my 1.7 million cobblestone. I plan on farming over 3 million obsidian. It started with this chunk loader, which I JUST finished now. My first attempt at this a month ago failed, but I just went into the end, the platform does indeed refresh, which means the redstone in this area is operating even with me being out of the dimension. Next is to get a lot of snowballs. I'm not sure how many snowballs I'm going to need, but I want to get the amount of obsidian in one fell swoop, so I'm going to need to figure that out . . .

funkyskunk1 posted a message on Minecraft fan made story about Steve, origins of.

    Minecraft fan-made storyline

    Minecraft fan-made storyline

    I woke up.
The thirst and the aches in my head are indescribable.
It all comes flooding back to me. The crash, the rock…
    Where am I?

I take a look around before attempting to get up. There’s a leafy, green, mountainous forest 40 meters ahead. I am on a sandy beach. The taste of salty ocean water is still in my mouth. I make a feeble attempt to stand but have to be content with sitting.

I make another attempt to stand and I stumble across the sand, tripping a couple of times. Upon reaching the forest, I take shade under a big oak tree.

The cool shade is doing me some good, and the aches leave my head. I stand up and take a look at the forest around me. There’s lots of oak trees with the occasional birch.

I am obviously in a dangerous survival situation. I am very, very thirsty. Luckily, to the left a few paces is a small pond. As I walk over to it, I notice it’s very clear. I collapse to my knees and thirstily drink mouthfuls. It tastes so good!
Drinking isn’t enough. I plunge my sun-burned body into the cool pond, and wash off all the salt in my clothes.

Now that my thirst is quenched, I realize that I need shelter and food. None of the trees are leaning and look reasonable enough for a decent lean-to.

Fortunately, my father had taught me survival skills, as were needed in my rural community. “Punch that tree, Steve. Yes, that’s good. Keep punching.”

I walk up to a good sized tree and begin punching. The tree starts creaking under the blows of my calloused hands from my rough life in my village. Soon, a good sized section pops off. I stuff it in my backpack, then continue to the other parts.

After a few minutes, the whole tree is completely gone. Again, it was very fortunate that my father taught me survival skills, because the logs I had weren’t nearly enough for a shelter. I began the process of crafting them into planks. After a few seconds, I have a good amount of planks, about 25.

I remember how to craft a workbench, as my father had taught me.
I craft it fast. I set my newly crafted workbench on the ground, with a cost of 4 planks gone from my pack. I now have 21.

The sun is beginning to set, so I hastily craft a wooden pickaxe.

After I am done, the moon begins to come up. I run over to a mountain and start slamming into it with my pickaxe in a hurry.

I have a small room completed. In the upper corner there’s some coal. I break it with my pickaxe and make some sticks. I craft a torch, and light it by striking it with some stone. I set it on the ground for use later.

As I begin to lie down to rest, I hear an unearthly moan.

I hear some footsteps on the grass heading toward me.

My heart leaps into my throat. I hadn’t heard much about the superstitions of my village, about the dead men that walk at night.

    Here was one now.
I slam my fist into its face and it stumbles back a meter. I hastily block the entrance with some dirt.

My heart pumped fast. I couldn’t believe what had just happened. I would have dismissed it as a hallucination, but I could still hear its tortured moans outside my shelter.

    I faint.

    My dreams are torturing.

I dream about my life before the crash. Before the ship ran into a rock that threw me onto this island.

I dream about my village. My father was a strong man. He was a hunter and a craftsman. All the men in the village looked up to him, because of his strength and wisdom. He knew how to craft tools in an instant. His strong fingers could bend the elements quickly into whatever he wanted them to be.

    Just like me.

I dream about the men from some other place. They wanted to have a place where they could worship their own different religion. They had built a huge ship that they said would carry us to a different land.

Instead, it only carried me to this lonely place.

I never knew about my mother. She died in childbirth, and I was the only one who survived.

Just like now. I was the only one (As far as I know) who survived this second birth, this ship.

My entire family, and by that I mean my father and I, embarked on this new ship to see this land that the men wanted to go to. They said it was filled with ores and clean water and animals.

When the ship collided with the rock, we began to sink very quickly. Most of the men were thrown back and hit the wood floor hard. I flew over the edge into the water and clung to a piece of the ship that had splintered off.

After holding onto it for a long time, I drifted into a deep sleep.

    I awoke on the island.

I wake up, amazed at how vivid that dream was. I look at my torch. It was little more than embers on a stick now, but light shone through the dirt stuck hastily into the entrance.

I break open the dirt and see some rotten flesh on the ground. It is sizzling, and still a bit on fire. I think it was from the dead man.

    Breakfast.

It doesn’t do me much good. I threw up much of it and it tasted (and smelled) horrible.

    I need better food.

To gain my bearings, I begin to climb to the top of the small mountain I’m on. It’s covered in oak and birch trees. Several caves run through it, and when the wind blows it makes peculiar noises.

The noises make me shudder. I again hear the peculiar moaning. Apparently these “dead men” don’t just walk at night. They also live in caves.

    Anywhere dark.

Once at the top, my brow is dripping in sweat. I wipe it off before it can run into my eyes.

It appears that I am on a mountainous, forested island, about a good size, with a desert over to the northwest. I can’t see farther than that. The island may as well just be a peninsula, since I can’t see past the desert.

    I am stranded.

Wait. I notice that close to where I woke up, there’s a man, lying on the ground.

“Father!” I yell, my voice hoarse from lack of use. I run down the mountain as fast as I can, and rush through the forest to the beach.

He doesn’t look well. His clothes are torn and he is bleeding terribly. I begin to feel hot tears about to roll down my cheeks.

    He seems surprisingly lucid.

“Water,” he says in a hoarse voice.

I fireman-carry my father over to the pool, desperate to get him water. I let him drink. After his thirst is quenched, his calloused hands slowly reached into his pocket and pulled out a compass. It looked strange, like a tin can with a red needle in it. There were no markers that showed North or South.

As I look back, I'm not even sure it pointed North.

His hoarse voice told me to reach into his backpack. I reached inside and felt a hatchet. I held it in my hands, it was made roughly of wood and metal. The wood gave me a splinter, but I paid no mind. The metal was as cool as water.

"You'll need it more than I will, son. Soon I'll be food for the earth." he said. As he said this, I fought back hard tears. I knew it was true, he was losing so much blood. Suddenly his eyes glazed over. He was still breathing faintly. I didn't have time to dig a hole. Night would fall again and I needed a real shelter. With a heavy heart, I grabbed dirt and gravel and piled it over his body, after he had stopped breathing, and with a red rose that was growing alone in the earth, I paid my last respects.

I looked at the rolling forest and its green turf with apprehension. The dead would walk in the darker parts. Thinking about this upset me. What if my father rose from the dead and extinguish his own son? To make sure this didn't happen, I hefted some heavy stones from the side of a hill and set them carefully down on the shallow grave.

I held the rough hatchet in my hand. It was all I had left of my father that was of use, except the strange compass. I thought for a moment and smashed it through the nearest oak. It shook with every heavy stroke and the birds started squawking, but soon the job was done and I had a pile of wood at my feet. I carefully chopped them into planks, and with mud I formed a thin frame for a house and after several more trees had fallen, I had a small wooden box.

Armorika posted a message on Summonable Player - new utility potential for adventure, modding and testing
This is an idea for a useful new summonable entity, simply called 'player' that will allow mobs to interact with it without a real player's input.

A blank, standard no AI 'player' would be summoned and all mobs would react to it as they would to a real player (spawning if it's in the vicinity, attacking it, looking at it like passive mobs, running away). Potion effects can be given, and all usual commands to entities would apply to it.

Passive mobs will follow it if it's holding wheat/seeds/carrot in its hand, as it's to emulate exactly how mobs behave towards a real player.

    Obtaining

It'll only be accessible via command - /summon Player

    Behaviour

By default it'll have no AI, and simply stand there similar to armour stands. However some basic AI could be implemented. Even so it wouldn't place nor break blocks, nor access containers.

    • Run from hostile mobs =1
    • Chase passive mobs =2
    • Wander =3
    • Pace =4
    • Attack =5(I haven't thought this one through much, but the code for skeletons and zombies could be applied and tweaked so it shoots at hostile mobs, and inflict damage up close
The syntax would look something like this /summon Player {AI:1} where the number is the different behaviour type. So long as they don't clash multiple behaviour types could be added.

It would be able to hold items allowing it to attract passive mobs, or attack if its a bow. Unlike zombies and skeletons the damage of any weapon its holding will be applied.

    Options

    • Knockback from projectiles and explosions (on=1, off=0)
    • Damage (on=1, off=0)
    • Affected by gravity (on=1, off=0)
    /summon Player {Knockback:1}

    Appearance

As this entity is to be used as a tool, not a mob that you as a proper player would interact with, an appearance isn't really necessary for it. It should be simply utilitarian and not distracting. Something as plain as this would do as it'd be most effective invisible anyway.

However it'd also be possible to add custom heads and armour to it, so it fits in with adventure map themes. Thanks to Bloodyghost9 for this idea
[quote]The syntax could be /summon player {SkinOwner:Notch}. To use mob skins such as zombie, skeleton, etc you could say /summon player {SkinOwner:mob.skeleton} or something similar. Also, if you wanted the player to have health and be able to die, you could say /summon player {Invincible:0, Health:20} which would be 10 hearts (20 half hearts)
This will allow map makers a lot of new potential with storytelling and triggered events.

How it differs from Armour Stands

Armour stands are available in survival, items and armour can be placed on them by hand, they don't have any skin and they require command blocks and /tp commands to emulate movement.

The 'player' in a way is a more advanced version of them; they can move like a regular mob, have skins applied and probably won't be used to store your armour (as it'd look like a guard rather than an armour stand)

    Breaking/ placing blocks
    Idea in progress...

    Potential uses

    • Battle scenario where you want skeletons to shoot on command - Summon a 'player' in front of each one, and they'll begin shooting at it. Add invisibility to make it look more authentic
    • Server minigames - Tons of potential from helpers to class selectors without having to use signs or immobile mobs, upgradeable companion in PVP, hireable mercenaries in survival
    • Zombie attractor - Have zombies focus and follow something that won't die (unlike villagers) and doesn't have to be contained in safety
    • Adventure map characters - Pacing guards on their rounds (pace behaviour), townspeople (wandering behaviour), hireable mercenary (fighting behaviour)
    • Mob grinder - Test the effectiveness of a mob grinder for hours while you do other stuff in your world
    • Music disc generator - Test skeleton and creeper music disc traps more effectively by having a 'player' attract them via pistons
    • Farms using the Wither - Summon one behind the blocks you want the wither to break, and it'll try to attack it.
    • Sci-fi laser gate - Guardians will target and attack invisible 'players' and with summoning you can have the laser beams move
    • Youtube tutorials/ showcases - Show a feature without having to rush from the input to the output (especially if its far away) with a 'player' summoned at the coordinates and interacting with redstone
    • Building time-lapse recorder - If you don't want to buy a second account for recording a building time-lapse, you could set a 'player' to record it instead, using the recording mod
    • Mod testing - Test mod items and blocks where you can see the effects better
    • Mod mob testing - Test mob behaviour from a bird eye view (or any other angle) for testing
    • Holy piggy shrine - Have your mobs gaze adoringly at a golden pig idol (invisible 'player' in front of it
    • Tutorials - IIP (idea in progress)

trollsack posted a message on Amount of redundant threads in Discussion and Survival sections
Every week we keep on getting redundant dumb threads such as "What is your favorite biome?" or "What is your favorite mob?" or "What is your favorite block?" or "What is the most useless item?"

I think you get the point. Search any of those up on this forum, and you would get dozens of results. It's getting annoying how there's way too many of these threads around here, and even if you report them they don't get locked. And most of those types of threads shouldn't even exist, cause people really shouldn't have to decide what is the "most useless item in the game".

Also don't tell me to "ignore" these, cause it's really annoying and you can't just "ignore" a bunch of threads.

    1. A bed is used in the case you have no armor or weapons and need to get away from hostiles. Rarely do first person shooter games run out of ammo for the half-dozen weapons you have.
    2. A bed is the ONLY way to change the time from day to night in Survival. Day and night are not usually included in FPS games.
    3. In FPS games, the only thing you need to worry about is ammo and health. It's rare that an FPS game has breakage for weapons.
    4. It is a lot easier to die in Minecraft, due to the simple fact that there is no health packs, unlike FPS game which has health packs. The only thing that MC has relating to health packs is the potions of Regen and Health.
    5. Obviously, that guy hasn't seen Shaders.
    6. In agreement with Genoe, a bed is a tool of which you have a choice to use. It is no more cheating than using a cup to drink water.
No, a bed is not cheating in any way.

(Example of his logic) Being alive is cheating because it negates the challenge of being dead.
